The TERRIFYING Last Moments of Boxer Becky Zerlentes

Ойын-сауық

Her heart pounded as she walked towards the bright lights of the ring. The deafening roar of the crowd drowned out her trainer's last minute advice.
She clenched her fists, staring at the canvas mat beneath her feet. It was April 2, 2005, and Becky Zerlentes was stepping into the ring for her 10th amateur boxing match. This was the Colorado Golden Gloves title event, and she decided it would be the last boxing match of her career - chasing another title as a fitting last goal. This was her moment. All the hours of training and conditioning her body had led to this.
Tragically, this fight would indeed be her last - and her final horrifying moments on earth.

One blow at the wrong place at the wrong time and you are dead. Boxing is a blood sport. And it can happen in anyone

WHY SO LONG, In the USAF. Be concrete....and short, to the POINT. It is like a briefing I would leave .... or fall asleep to..... like now. It was her choice WIN or LOSE. She made the decision.

When fighters die it is usually from injuries sustained from 3-5 pryor fights. The opponent gets blamed unfairly.

Concussions are what the boxing crowd lives for. Other contact sports work to avoid them.

Amateur boxing is much safer than amateur American football. By far.

You can play tennis, play hockey, football or whatever. But you don’t play boxing 🥊! Love it but let’s not kid ourselves. It’s brutal!

Hockey is extremely brutal also. Have you seen the videos of players with their throats cut by skates?

@@FRLN500 yes and you’re right about hockey being tough. But compared with car accident type damage that happens while boxing. The throat cuts only happen every now and then. As well, a team sport shares the pain. Boxing is all you, not a shitty goalie, or a bad referee. Zero excuses, you either suck or have potential. All you baby

Looks to me like she already had a head injury the doctors missed maybe fell off her bike these boxing promoters just want to make money they don't care if you die.

No promoters and not much money in amateur boxing (unless you count the bribes paid to Olympic judges and referees). The money made at this event would likely barely cover expenses. I’m actually quite impressed she was put on oxygen within seconds, professional boxing in the US doesn’t have such good medical care.
