Great Video. I really enjoyed it, reminded me when I was back in Wyoming. My favorite parts about your video is how you explain your technique and share with others, that is awesome. Trout have extremely good eyesight so using light lines or even fluro in some cases helps a lot.. Great video Philly.. always a pleasure to watch.. thanks for making these, always makes me happy to see younger people enjoy fishing and showing others how.. great job.. JQ OUT!

Leo I use trout magnets for multi species fishing. Funny think is your favorite color pink is great. Its actually pink and purple. I have caught lmb, black crappie all types of sunfish with the trout magnet. I have also used the white with the blue back and flakes. Another good bait is the Panfish Assassin in pearl pink and light blue for multi species fishing.

nice vid Leo! Maybe use 10 pound braid with about half a metre of 4-5 pound test line. That is what I always use for rivers and creeks, but in lakes and dams, I use 10 braid and 5 pound mono it does the trick really well because the trout in my area are smart and can see the braid near the bait

I enjoyed using the trout magnets during the morning. I probably would say from 5 a.m. Until 12 in the afternoon. Between 5 and 12 I do catch a lot of big rainbow trout on the trout magnets. Then from 12 in the afternoon until about 7 at night I switched to the Berkley gulp alive 1 inch minnows. I be catching everything with those.

What color jig head do you recommend? I like how you are using the trout magnet. I bought the whole set, all the colors, I was floating them in creeks with a bobber like they tell you to do, and I caught a lot of rock bass on them last year, but I haven't had this kind of success. I'm excited to get to try it. Thanks!

PA, seriously, make up you mind and give us a break!!!! At this rate the creeks in my area are never gonna go back to normal levels. Once again I'm back to flooded areas, raging and muddy creeks, and hiding trout! Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Maybe this is a blessing and I'll be able to actually catch stocked trout in June. But I'll take whatever comes at me.

Man I've been enamored with the Trout Magnet since the first trout I caught on it, a nice 15 inch stocked rainbow from a pond in southern Utah. That was over 10 years ago and up until that point I had only ever caught trout on spinners, spoons, and Rapalas. Since then, they have proven themselves on all different kinds of trout from high mountain golden trout, browns, cutthroats, brookies, wild and stocked rainbows, and even a rogue lake trout or two. I spent an afternoon with my girlfriend a few years ago fishing a small stocked lake in northern Arizona. There were several other people fishing with bait that didn't seem to be catching anything. We tied on trout magnets and caught fish after fish for two hours. I think we caught over 40 fish, releasing them all. Of course they work great as a lure to just see what swims below and catch all different species. I usually fish them on a 6 foot 6 inch light fast action rod with 4 lb monofilament line. I'll add a small split shot or two for getting it deeper or making longer casts. Favorite colors for trout are pink, brown, salmon fix (I call this one cheese and it's great for stocked trout). It also works great for ice fishing. The only thing I would like to see is a tunsten version for deeper faster water and also to use in places that prohibit lead use. Great lure.

Leo - how is the trout fishing in Pennypack this season? I fished at Bustleton and Blvd bridge for 20 years - grew up right there. I've having the hardest time out here in West Chester (French Creek and Ridley Creek). I've thrown 15 styles and colors of powerbait, trout magnets, spinners, wax worms, etc. I only pulled in 3 rainbows and 1 brown. It's like if you don't get out there the day they stock - they either aren't interested or they are gone.

crappie, bluegill, bass, and trout all fall victim to the trout magnet. In 30 yrs of fishing, this little lure has been the most productive thing I have ever thrown.

I am looking to get a rod to fish with light baits like the trout magent (1/64) but most ultra light rods are rated down to 1/32oz. Can you cast a 1/64oz jig effectively with a rod rated for 1/32oz? Also does the action of the rod come into play with being to cast a 1/64oz jig with a 1/32oz rod?

I always have luck with the 1 inch version of the gulp minnow here in the creeks of Virginia. Throw it on the same set up you are using here. Keep those lines right.

You got a 2lbs leader or you spool the entire reel with it? That line looks strong 👍👍

love your videos regardless of species. I am currently using your suspended jigging technique with a bobber, silver jig head and 1/2" white curly tail set at one to one one-half foot deep . my question for you : what is your preference on bobber type? slip , clip on, foam, plastic...

I like the weighted clip-on for float, Mike Rybka. Not plastic, though. The styrofoam ones. :) Tight lines and thanks for watching!

First off the trout magnet was invented by a guy that lives near me here in WV. I never use a bobber also. Just keep jigging it off the bottom, really drives them crazy. You can also use gulp minnows on the same jig and you can rip some lips off the trout. I use a 9' Ultra light with 4 lb test.

Great job in this video! I was wondering if you used a sinker or just fished the trout magnet on its own. I have a pack of trout magnets, but I'm not sure what the best setup is. Any help would be greatly appreciated

great video trout magnets work awesome but when you have a trout on loosen your drag just a tad bit more so the trout can run a little more because it's alot less stress on that 2lb line but that's all I got to say great vid.
