The 2024 opening day of trout season is finally here in Pennsylvania! I fished a new creek and lucked out with a spot to myself and tons of ferocious trout! Later in the day I tried my hand at catching the iconic golden rainbow trout/palomino trout! Hope you enjoy :)

My opening day went pretty well. 24 trout caught, nothing big and no Goldens. Congrats on your nice golden!

🎣 didn't go on the first day. It was way too windy and cold plus the night before it rained and the creek was up so high plus muddy.
You got that golden trout pretty easily so great job. Here in the west coast, we call them Lightning Trout and they are notorious for being difficult to catch.
That first spot was a prime spot to throw a streamer

I got to figure out this trout thing better i didn't catch anything in the shenango
I couldn't find any but i was trying to fish the high water of the shenango

They weren’t unfortunately. Their fins were all messed up. Just stockers

I hate when the spinners drift into their mouth it just happens too often 😞
This was the worst year I had o trout a joke !!!! This mentor day is ruining it for the older guys !!! Every year gets worse and worse still debating on next year to get a trout stamp!!!!!
