Galadriel wouldn't consider it fate because she actually knows the "gods" of Middle Earth. Literally has had conversations with them. So she probably views this as their design.
Marigold isn’t Nori’s mother, she’s her step-mother. Nori’s father was recounting the story for us of how when he lost Rose, the mother of his two daughters, he felt lost until he saw Marigold and fell in love again.
Unpopular opinion, I know but: I really LOVED the slo-mo Galadriel shot. That was such a beautifully crafted scene!

Yeah, the people remembered in the ceremony weren't left behind by the caravan and they simply died due to some unfortunate situation and thus are no longer with them, being left behind in that sense. This is one of the best videos I've seen here - the intense energy combined w the relaxed rapport and the intricacy of engagement w the material - and really excellent points made about this episode - the climate of mutual respect adds so much - 27:00 - I like Achara's point of caring about something because the characters themselves cared, even if we don't completely understand - that's the whole point of identifying w a film, and no, it's not "weird empathy" (and I thought a strong sense of empathy was supposed to be a good thing)
Why do we only considered an episode as "starting to get good" when there's more fight scenes in it? Why does it have to be action packed to be considered entertaining? I enjoy the slow moments just as much...not sure why we're so impatient with content needing to be released all at once. What happened to enjoying the ride?!

Aragorn is decendant of Numenor, , and heir of Isildur. they are blessed with longer lifespan compare to other race of human (more than 200 years of life) You can see Elendil and Isildur in the prologue of fellowship of the ring, which is after they establish Gondor in the South and Arnor in the North of Middle Earth. and why they are in Middle Earth would probably reveal l;ater in the series so i won't spoil here
Ilendel becomes the king and it is his sword that cuts the ring from Saurons hand, his son isildur is the one who keeps the ring when Elrond takes him to mount doom
This is my favorite episode so far. I loved seeing Numenor as this really grand and epic kingdom where people live well, and how the king's palace looks a lot like the one in Minas Tirith to acknowledge their Numenorean heritage, and I also thought both Elendil and Isildur are great casting choices. The final action scene with the orcs was also pretty great, I just wish Elendil had told Galadriel that he's descended from her friend Elros, Elrond's brother who chose a mortal life. Halbrand being a berserker due to a curse to his bloodline for allying with Morgoth was a nice touch, too. I also kind of loved seeing this middle-aged human dude prove he's waaaaaay wiser than this thousand years old super badass elf warrior maiden because at this point Galadriel has all the hubris of her later self but none of the skill and wisdom. Elendil was like, "Dude, you're like 50 times my age and acting like an entitled teenager."

Their ability to miss the point never fails to amaze me. The criticism is not that an Elf cannot do what she does, simply that it is not Galadriels character. Her powers were wisdom, incredible insight and perception to the point of mind reading and foresight, able to read people, making her exceptionally important as a voice and leader. She was able to see through Saurons powerful disguises, and never fully trusted Saruman, seeing his flaws and lust for power, which is why she always preferred the council and friendship of Gandalf. She saw him as the true leader of the Istari wizards which did of course eventually come to be. The issue is that Amazon have utterly failed to see what made Galadriel so interesting, wise and powerful, and instead turned her into some Xena knock off. My sister after watching original LOTR felt connected with Galadriel and believe it or not became a wise woman her self. what is youth to think from watching this ?let us be Egoistical self proclaimed warrior that hates all men ? The way the show began, I thought we were in early 2nd age but with the introduction of isildur, it would suggest we are in late 2nd age. If we are in late 2nd age, the rings have been around a while, Sauron is in numenor as a chief advisor to an evil king of numenor, and Eru (aka God) is about to sink numenor in the ocean and Elendil and his son Isildur escape to middle earth.

I am beginning to subscribe to the theory that The Stranger is one of the blue wizards. We know very little about them (possibly because Tolkien had not made up his own mind), and his arrival in the form of a meteor is not inconsistent with what we know of some of Tolkien's thinking. I am also liking this Galadriel a bit more. And I don't think the author is violating the canon; although we know quite a bit about what Galadriel was doing during the First Age, we know almost nothing regarding the Second Age (or most of the Third), so conjecture has considerable leeway. This curiosity with fire and cold fire at that automatically associates him with Sauron and he’s one ring that always stays cool and needs flames to expose the hidden writing on the one ring and also the Ancient temple Galedriel found at the start of the show, with their torches emmiting no heat. I’d love for it to be Gandalf as the scene in the woods of The Stranger making everything dark around him warping he’s surroundings like Gandalf when he got angry in the cabin. Gandalf also ends up with one of The Elfish Rings 💍 the fire 🔥 ring Narya which gives Gandalf better control over Fire 🔥. However Gandalf and the other wizards aren’t sent to middle earth until the 3rd age. So this could be one of the blue wizards 🧙♂️? Or Sauruman maybe getting an early intro? If you aren't familiar with the source material you wouldn't know that Galadriel is by far the oldest elf in this show. She's even older than the Elf King Gil-Galad. This is an ancient being who grew up in Tolkien's "heaven" and was close to the gods and demigods. Yet they cast people like Arondir's Sylvan elf commander and Celebrimbor who are MUCH younger than her but look much older. In fact, the elves in general just look like people with pointy ears. I really really really hope they don't make Galadriel fall for Halbrand. I'm holding out hope that they'll introduce Celeborn at some point later on. All the artists and craftspeople who've created this world have done a stellar, award-worthy work. In terms of story, there are things I like (like Jaby I thought Elendil was the star of this episode, and Nori remains a bright spot), and things I'm still iffy on. Galadriel is written in a puzzling way mainly because they haven't the rights to so many important characters. And again, please no romance between her and Halbrand. Halbrand could fulfill that role for her, whether it be through romance or simply friendship. One of the many things I love about canon Galadriel though is her desire for adventure and discovery, a sort of irresistible attraction to Middle-Earth. I hope we get to see more of that as the show progresses.

I don't foresee any romance between Galadriel and Halbrand tbh. Galadriel's husband Celeborn is still to come after all. Though come to think of it...they're already supposed to be married since they met in the first age.

Considering both name "Annatar" and "Adar" start with an A and end with an Rnis pretty self-explanatory. But i think Adar is just misleading for the viewers. I don't think he's Sauron. Halbrand is definitely Sauron. He try to scout Numenor in this early day, assessing their strength, thats why he took a form of a human this time instead of an Elf (Annatar). Because as we know they don't accept an Elf in Numenor anymore. Sorry for my bad English

It's weird to me how you guys say that you like to see Isildur because it's great to get to know the backround of a character, where he's coming from and what made him who he is, but when they do it (in this episode with the Harfoots) you think it's a bit boring. I actually really liked to see a bit more of Harfoot culture! And no Noris family didn't get off easy, did you even pay attention? Just a few minutes earlier they speak about the people they had to left behind for the survivial of the group and how letting someone behind means almost certain death. They know Noris father can't walk well and that his family would struggle to keep up in the middle of the caravan, putting them last means that there is no one looking out for them, as soon as they fall back (as they did) they're alone immedialty. Harfoots are, as far as we know, the smallest race in all of middle earth, their only chance for a save and somewhat happy life is staying together, they can't defend themselves as a human, Elf or Dwarf can. And I actually like the weekly rhythm of the show, binging Netflix shows is fine because most of them aren't special, but if a good show gets released weekly it gets deeper, because you will talk about every episode with friends or co-workers. It bonds me so much more to a show than binging it talk about it for 10 minutes and that's it.
Pretty decent episode
9 episodes means paying for more than 1 month of Prime, it's annoying but smart financially. I'd easily binge this whole season then cancel. Also dropping entire seasons all at once, many people could use the "free" trial and avoid membership fees all together.
I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode, I just love being in this world and the mystery to the characters. I don’t understand all the criticism. And I would take this show over house of the dragon any day, if we must compare

To be fair they thought the Harfoots literally left behind those who died when it's clearly that the trip is treacherous and they died by many other means.
This whole episode was worse than the previous two… Galadriel never even visited numenor in the first place, Gandalf didn’t come till the 3rd age, if that is Gandalf then the whole time period doesn’t exist anymore, might aswell have bilbo as the king of Gondor. the whole show so far is doing everything in its power to go the opposite of Tolkien lore. If It’s the way they want it to go, why brand it lotr, might aswell be a fantasy all on its own
It's quite simple - the creator of Starwars said regarding 'Disney Starwars' that he felt "betrayed". Lucas's statement nullifies any canonicity re 'Disney Starwars'. Elon Musk said it well regarding 'Amazon ROP' - "Tolkien is turning in his grave". This grossly inaccurate fanfiction adaptation is a "betrayal" of Tolkien. Props to the effects/music talent involved, such a shame your skills are wasted on this show.
How is achara ahead of everything? "He stole something", "Your women", "maybe he could pull their cart", etc. Her mind is just snappy quick.
To be honest this show is good when you see it all in one but waiting week not interested in next episode but the house of dragons I'm so excited for next episode even I'm counting the days until Monday
