“Above the Flying & You” is the best reference to Between the Buried & Me that I’ve ever heard.
Great vid Nic, have a great day.👏🏼👏🏼😁
Synth theater was dope. Would be cool to hear a full song with that one.
Yes! My genera. I love prog metal! I cannot express the happeness thus brings me The weird time signatures, key changes, and long songs are what makes a prog song
"Where is the snare?" is a game I play whenever I listen to Tesseract.. lol
Between the buried and me reference. I love them haha.
I find it funny Animals as Leaders isn’t mocked in any way here.
Is it wrong that literally every single one of these little snippets excited me? Like if these were all actual songs I’d be tracking them all down instantly
I hear Prog Metal I cry 9 minutes long in 6/9 changing tempos
Glad to see Baena on here!!!
Lastly, just slap a bunch of notes in solos and drum at the same time
The spider hands and music man majesty made me think you were John petrucci for a second 😂 And the synth theater
Throw a solo on top is literally animals as leaders lol
At the end of that synth theater section was that a diminished run? If not please let me know what it was because I wanna learn shit like that.
That synth solo at 2:45 was actually pretty good
Synth theatre sounds and feels are reals sounds a lot like dream theatre

Well that was fun seeing you 2 together in a video you guys are great
Omg you’re like Jared Dines, subscribed! Oh patreon? Take my money! oh t shirts, where do you come up with these crazy ideas and crazy stuff?
The throw the solo on top one has never described Mastodon better
the synth theater was hard tho 🔥😂
That clean part reminded me of pull me under from dream theater
A lot of these, especially in the first half, are really cool. what are some bands I could get into to hear some more like that?
spider hands is definitely my favourite. sounds so smooth and less djenty.
That synth solo was badass

Bro those time signatures at 0:55 was fucking awesome. Great idea for a song.
Takes shots at Dream Theatre...uses Petrucci’s guitar. He’s in your head, man! Haha great video.
Love that he is playing on a majesty guitar :)
1:10 is literally just the Vicarious riff. Sounds cool
Granted "where's the snare?" Is hilarious and true, the example used was so easy of snare part

The playing the same riff in any metal prog sounds like some sort of warmup lol
Any examples of good prog metal? Was curious of any song examples that do the always changing tempo thing you did too.
