The Libertines - Don't Look Back Into The Sun | Reaction!

Музыка

My first listen to The Libertines, I can already tell that they're an interesting band. I saw that Pete says he's mostly clean now and went to rehab a while back. Good for him! Just a poppy, catchy bop! And happy 52nd birthday to Gary Powell!
Thanks for watching!

A band I never really cared for until my daughter asked me to go see them with her.... (16th birthday present that she failed to tell me was in Margate....a full 500mls from our home....it was a 1000mile round trip by car...TOTALLY worth it). After that I was a confirmed fan and so happy to find new bands at my then 46 what a truly amazing band to see live!!

Aw, excellent ;) Great reaction. This is a rabbit hole you could go down, they’re a very influential band. Try Time for Heroes, Cant’t Stand me now or What a Waster if you wanted to explore more.

Great intro, love this tune. Can't express how much I adore The Libertines, Doherty is a true English poet.

Good one, Nick. The Libertines debut album(Up the Bracket) hit me like the Stone Roses debut album did. No one sounded like them and they came out the gates like reigning champs. You really can’t go wrong with their first four tracks in a row off their album. Vertigo. Death in the Stairs. Horror Show. And the timeless classic “Time For Heroes”. They are simply perfect. Now I gotta go listen to them…heh.

Death Disco was the name of an indie club night in London around the time ran by Alan McGee , head of Creation Records. Also the chords on the verse to this are very similar to Whatever by Oasis but played twice as fast. (G D Em7 D C D G D). Pete is a massive Oasis fan, there is some MTV UK footage you can see on KZread of him queueing up to buy What's the Story Morning Glory the day it came out.

I never got into the Libertines much but I do adore this song. Major Brownie points to you Nick for your almost perfect pronunciation of Doherty. I've had so many wrong ones in all the years it has been my surname that I was preparing to cringe. Your Smiths idea was a surprise to me, could be a connection. The phrase always makes me think of "Death Disco" by Public Image Ltd.

Perhaps worthy of note that Pete Doherty of the Libertines is a massive The Smiths fan...

The libertines really are one of the only modern bands to capture that 70s garage rock sound that bands like the stooges.

The death disco bit is about Carl doing a DJ set at the club & playing a record at the wrong rpm, but he didnt even realise til someone pointed it out, hence "it started fast but it ends so slow"

@@dellafenton2417 because they’re a good successful band that people should react to to see if they like them. Don’t create preconceptions for people who have never even listened to them if you have an opinion keep it to yourself
