I am curious about training your diaphragm, like how do you strengthen it? Are there specific exercises or movements, because when I searched for some training methods all that I saw was breathing with your diaphragm or stuff. If there was a video where a strongman talks and demonstrates his knowledge on this I would be happy.

Breath under a load. Farmers walks for example. Lungs are negative pressure organs, pretty much all diaphragm working it. When the diaphragm contracts against a tightened core it has to work harder. Squats help too, but it sounds like you are wanting to do more than hold your breath against a load.

Be careful with the Valsalva. It can be dangerous for certain people. Certain martial arts training methods, the Sanchin kata, Hung Gar iron wire, etc. may function by strengthening the diaphram. Do your research and be safe. The Pavel guy with Dragon Door wrote about it in some of his books too I think.

Like he was gonna drop truth. Hips and Core isn't what strongman are known for, he could've gone for a funny quick answer, but he is honestly trying to help people. I think the biggest turn off for me was when I went to a strongman gym and asked the guys there "If I train enough, will I be as strong as you?" They said "Yeah, sure, it's all about dedication. And adult vitamins ;)". I have nothing against that, and the fact that they said that does not diminish the effort and time strongmen have to put in and all the sacrifices they make. Still huge respect for them. You can't just take "stuff" and get strong. I just wish it was a more honest and open aspect of the whole thing because that's where I draw the line.

But at the end of the day I'm not glad I did 12 hrs of digging in gravel 2ft deep and 200 ft long. I'm glad because I have gotten of my asz. And done something I've been doing since I had a friend playing in dirt or mud. That part makes my day. I love what I do I love that I can water plants be that legal or illegal plants. Know yourself, work nights, train days, eat all you can and have no sleep or money, then you might have a chance. I can think of at least one extra thing you need to get that strong.

A little off-topic: prices for medical care in the US are outrageous. No wonder people are not insured and any national healthcare is not possible. Why is medical care and education so bloody expensive, especially compared to many things that are affordable?

So much for the myth of friendly Canadians... what a jackass you are, laughing at the misfortunes of others. It's not the fault of most Americans that we live in a third world, devolved, fundamentalist backwater that values dollars more than lives.

Simon bruneau, yes your healthcare is free , but we have the better healthcare system ,better doctors, there's a reason thousands of canadians save there money and come to the usa for surgery.

100 years from now when they film The Strongest Man in History, who will be the top 10 from your era? Who can they point out and say this is how you do it right? Not the biggest or the most social media followers? Who is the guy that the other competitors want to talk to and hang out with even if that person never held a record or won a comp? Just out of the last 4-5 years maybe..
