    Unfortunately, but so very true. Some people just have receptors that respond well to certain exercises. I had a friend who was 5'9 and 175 lbs, couldn't bench to save his life, squat was average good (335) but he could deadlift 545. That's more than 3x bodyweight. It was just easy to him somehow

    @lu impy You make good points, but late bloomers do exist in the strength world in some capacity. Speaking in absolutes like that doesn't mesh well with something nuanced like strength training.

    Thank you for continuing the Mateusz series. It's good to hear him talk about both his strengths and weaknesses so matter of fact. It's just information, no attitude, ego or boasting. It just is. On the bands on pressing movements for stability... I'm curious if they are anchored to the ground or hanging with weights suspended? From my own (MUCH lighter) overhead pressing and even squatting, I feel much more stable with band pressure when anchored, so I'm assuming he meant weights hanging from the bands. Pressing with weights hanging from chains makes me so unstable, especially at the top. Any idea if that's what he meant? On a side note, I'm always impressed how the foreign (foreign to me, being in the US) athletes speak English reasonably well, not being their native language.

  • @alexanderpatrus9588

    @alexanderpatrus9588

    4 жыл бұрын

    Bill F he definitely meant the weights are freely hanging from the band's. I think he is doing it for a stability exercise to strengthen the little muscles and add more efficiency to the lift. It should be unstable when you do it and it's a great way to strengthen your overall lifting ability and prevent injury.

    1. Log press 2. Barbell overhead press + bands 3. Dips Edit: Since we want to be like Mateusz, we should add a 4th movement, dumbbell overhead press. But since Mateusz is already Mateusz, he is too good at this event and doesn't need to practice.
