The DUMBEST PITCHER in Marlins HISTORY
Prior to the start of the 2000 MLB season, the Florida Marlins acquired pitcher Dan Miceli from the San Diego Padres. He then got off to the worst possible start to his career by getting hurt and covering it up by coming up with the dumbest and stupidest lie imaginable, that left everyone scratching their heads and wondering just what the heck he was thinking.

10:53 -- Rod and Todd Flanders: Lies make baby Jesus cry... :,(
Suggestion: How about coaches and managers who exaggerated their military service?
What's more embarrassing than fighting with your brother? Having your mom stop the fight.

Fighting with your sister and having your mom step in. Or how about fighting with your mom and having your brother/sister step in.

10:45-the double take that makes these videos so intriguing.
Yet another interesting story about a former Pittsburgh Pirates player. Good work.
Sounds like the setup to Con Air
Not a very good liar.
No offense but managing to talk for 15 minutes about Dan Miceli takes some ability.
Would love to see you do a video on the man who was born to play on the 1962 New York Mets.. Marvin Eugene Throneberry... aka Marvelous Marv You could probably do like 20 videos just on stories from that 1962 Mets team... "Yo la tengo" ("I got it!" in spanish) is another GOOD story from that team :)

My great uncle was actually the one traded for him!

the "yo la tengo!" story always gets a laugh when i tell it, even to non baseball fans, just because of how absurd it is. and you're correct, the 1962 mets could easily be the 1982 nfl season version of this channel (as in, JG7 could easily do 20 vids and still not come close to getting everything out of it).

And here I thought it was going to be Colin Rea who only threw for the Marlins one time after the Padres covered up his injuries and got away with trading him

Weird that it's happened twice that a pitcher traded to the Marlins from the Padres turned out to have a hidden injury

and even dumber, the marlins, after getting luis castillo back for him, then stupidly traded him away for nothing 6 months later. weird trade the marlins made in the first place, thinking somehow they were in the race.
Reminds me of another Miami athlete, Dolphins DT Alfred Oglesby, who said he missed practice because he was kidnapped. Turns out he overslept and didn’t want to risk the wrath of Don Shula.

Wow, that's taking things to a whole other level. I gotta look up some info on that one.
I think this is at least the second video I've heard you drop Jamie O'Neal lyrics, and from a very obscure song from over 20 years ago. I'm impressed.
Welcome to Dumb Decisions.
Thanks for teaching us the best way to lie! 😂
That’s one of the craziest lies I’ve ever heard. Also, appreciate the Jamie O’Neal reference at 11:00.
I was a college student at USF when this went down and I still didn't hear about this mess. Miceli wasn't a very good liar. I can't think of another Marlin who was quite this dumb regardless of position.
I thought Miceli was auditioning for Road House 2 LOL
I'M SORRY!!!! WHAT????
This is the dumbest story since WWF's version of Shawn Michaels getting "jumped by thugs outside a bar." The story was to protect Michaels who was the one who started the whole skirmish by trying to kick it to a soldiers girlfriend even after being warned. In the end, like Miceli here the truth came out.
Not explaining the injury at all would have been better then a lie.
Just like the high school game tape-delay video from 1982, that was one hell of a twist, JG9!
I’m a big Fish fan and I didn’t even know this lol.

I would have been here sooner. But I was literally watching the last video.

Being beat up by your own siblings is embarrassing and I would lied too but at least do a better job
I can think of a Marlins pitcher that did something substantially dumber
You could do a video about the Marlins “Steve Bartman Appreciation Day.” It’s expected to be highly successful to the point where the crowd will only be around 60% Cubs fans

Only 60? Are they handing out free money?
It’s also like the 2017 Astros. Had they lost the ALDS or the ALCS, no one’s batting an eye. But they had to go for the world championship to raise suspicion
This is a lie... Dan Miceli is my uncle and this never happened! Just kidding! Told ya it was a lie 😁

I was going to say Nuke LaLoosh, who had to be reminded not to punch with your pitching hand.
There is a difference between being dishonest and dumb. Micelli was not dumb, just compounded a situation by bring untrue. He had a lot to lose and you lack compassion or understanding
So he’s a jew
