THE DENIED YAZIDI FESTIVAL - The voice and future of the Yazidis

Directed by prof. Emanuela C. Del Re -
Lalish Temple, the main Yazidi religious place, during the Jazhna Jamaye, the most significant Yazidi Festival. October 2013 Iraqi Kurdistan
Due to serious threats following terrorist attacks that had taken place in Iraqi Kurdistan in previous days, the Jazhna Jamaye, the most signficant religious festival of the Yazidi, ancient, peaceful and consistent minority in Iraqi Kurdistan, has been canceled by the authorities for security reasons. Out of the thousands of Yazidi from all over the world expected to gather in Lalish every October, in 2013 only a few hundreds have participated in the festival. Although the Rituals have been celebrated, and the spirituality of the event has pervaded the place, the Yazidi have suffered for the cancellation of the event. In this unique and exclusive documentary the Yazidi share their thoughts about their life and values, providing a deep insight in the world of a little known community. They also talk about their fears for the future: a prelude of the tragedy that is taking place today in August 2014, with the Yazidi risking a new genocide.

@Buyuk Iskender I have to tell u one thing about india.Aryan theory is a fake theory invented by white people to destroy unity in India and sadly they succeeded. Before abrahamic faiths whole world was following one religion.it is called religion of natural law.it is called Hinduism in India,Zoroastrian in Iran, yezidi in Iraq, pagonisam in Europe.out of these only Hinduism survived. There must be no comaprision which is oldest and best. All are equally superior

I am a gnostic christian, and I feel a strong bond with the Yazidi faith. We have more in common than what separates us... I speak your cause whenever I can, and I try to learn more about the Yazidi culture... Please stand strong. Your cause is justified, and you shall prevail, I am convinced. So sorry that you experience these ignorants and evil deeds. But we have learned to know you, and your beautiful faith of Melek Ta´us! We norwegians have a strong empathy with your situation.

What is a gnostic christian. I know yezidi see their God appear to them in divers manners. They are not allowed to tell what they see or all the secrets of the universe. It includes magic an incarnation of lucifer one who open our eyes and bring the balance. This religion was first for special chosen bloodlines and sects. I met a yezidi guy he claimed to be the antichrist and he did some magic stuff. Broke a guitar and put it back together. He wouldn't leave until i called him Jesus. He foretold the future and he appeared before 9/11 i saw a great being and other wise beings in my dreams. But lucifer is real and he is king of hell power might and wealth and might are in his hands and he bestows every worthy descendant of adam with secret rewards that he alone knows those who keep his secrets will receive the fulfillment of his promises. God made lucifer the king of hell and gave him souls of the damned certain abilities god like abilities like in the garden of eden and we go to hell for eternity for purification in the fires. I love lucifer and his people they are humans. But keep the secrets.

Hello everyone, I'm an Indian Hindu, wanna share something very typical. Last night I saw a typical dream and I was unable to understand it's meaning but today I don't know what generated curiosity to know about Yazidis and I started searching videos about Yazidis. I found that so many things of my dream are visible in the videos I saw. I got more curious to explore Connection of Yazidis with our Hindu Sanatan Dharma (Religion). I'll be thankful if I can connect with some Yazidi who understands English language please 🙏 God bless everyone with inner happiness 🙏 Om 🕉️🙏

So beautifully presented! Thank you Professor Del Re! It is amazing to learn that a community had believed in the concept of one-god more than three thousand years before the Judaism. Most people know that Judaism was the first religion that had introduced the concept of monotheism. I am very happy that the Yazidi people have survived the persecution and that they are back to their ancestral land. I am aware that they will not have the attention of the majority world as they are not the BIG ISSUE in the middle eastern OIL MARKET. Media makes people think that the OIL and KINGS are the stories only. However, these peace-loving ancient communities are the living memories of human history and cultures. We all have responsibilities to respect and protect them. It is not relevant if they are 'like Hindus' or whatever. They are unique and they believe they are beautiful the way they are. They do not attack others. Neither do they force others to change their faiths. For thousands of years, they have peacefully coexisted with the dominant cultures and religions surrounding them. That is the main source of their beauty and strength. Let us all pay due respect and most importantly, open our minds to try to understand this beautiful nation.

So far my knowledge goes about Yazidism it can be apprehend or come to know that that they have migrated from India thousand years ago and construct / develope their society in ancient Persia which is now Iran and Iraq. The People of Persia were not also Muslims by religion. They were forced to convert to Muslims. But Yazidi people never converted themselves to other religion and began to fight to establish their entire entity with peace. They had been attacked by the Muslim world and as good as religion for a number of time. But, it is almost clear that they originated from ancient India. Because their rituals are very similar with Hinduism. My request to India Government that we should take a huge steps to save them from other disturbing element- ism. Thanks.

Many of these places has now been proven to share common anscestery through the socalled indoeuropeans. We are all brothers and sisters and should live in pease and harmony and share goodness and kindness and love. Is that really so hard. Respect each other
