I think a big reason why viewership dips, when this team does well, is that the fans are still skeptical about the longevity of this success, there are still many cracks in the armor, and social media has wired people to vent online. If you think about music, it's far more common to find songs about break-ups and heartache, as society has told us love songs are cheesey, but it is also easier to come up with metaphors and rhymes for negative words and emotions than positive ones. Also, when we, as a species, are happy about something, what is more natural to want to do? A) enter a comments section online, with a bunch of people you'll likely never meet in real life? Or B) you're lived ones/friends and family? As for this team being "boring," I do agree. All the fire is gone. No angry, roaring as he rounds the bases, Arenado. No tongue wagging, elbow slamming Contreras. No Nootbaar being Nootbaar. It just all feels safe, timid, and sad. This team might have fixed the team chemistry issue, but now we need the fire brought back! Winning is contagious, and if Gorman, Winn, and Burleson can continue to do well, they need to let the fire, passion, smiles, fun, etc., show. Give this team moments to remember, and you just might bring out the best from your teammates.

They’re boring because I could run the team like Oli does. I don’t even know why they have a manager in the dugout, just sit up in the boxes like an NFL coordinator and call ii in over a headset. All he does is implement Mo’s game plan that is 10 years out of date. They are robots…anyone with passion or ability to think independently of analytics has been run out of the club.

You guys are freaking awesome. Love hearing y’all. It’s so much more informational than other forms of media. I listen to MLB radio in my car a LOT, either that or PGA Tour Radio. Anyway, Jim Bowden was on this morning and he was discussing the NLC and he didn’t even mention the El Birdos. Since he was the GM of the Reds (and Nats) he’s really bullish on the Reds, and even the Brewers and EVEN the Pirates, given their 2 new young SPs. On the topic of OVER .500 I looked it up: they swept the Marlins and were 5-4 on April 6th. The LAST TIME prior to that was April 2, 2023, after winning 2/3 in Toronto to open the season. Charlie with the understatement of 2024: “I don’t find this team very captivating.” I’m a harder sell, having watched the regression (as y’all have). Talking about trading Walker sounds like a strategic move to get some MLB ready pitching or whatever, but guys, this team isn’t a postseason team, and Walker still has 4 years of control. Trading Walker for something currently shiny isn’t going to make them a contender, so what’s the point? So Walker was in the minors for a couple of seasons, started off 2023 with a hitting streak, then they sent him back to the minors to “get more elevation, more home runs”? You might say “Okay Scottyboy, what else you got to complain about?”, I think that example explains the disconnect in the player development process of the organization but excuse me for asking but wouldn’t a better time to have worked on his technique been when he BEGAN his minor league development era? And in turn you might argue they’ve wasted 2 years of control, which even if you were going to trade him isn’t a lot but right now they can’t get but maybe 1/2 of his value because he’s a depreciating asset because Flores & Moz never watched him bat to determine he needed more lift. Help me understand. And to trade away any player similar to Walker, Gorman, Noot or Winn..and hang onto Sonny Gray is incomprehensible. The notion a couple of players collected at the TD would push this team over the top is quite optimistic. 2006 & 2011 in some ways allowed the Cards to peddle this “get in get hot and win” myth, even if the DBacks, Rangers, etc have cashed in on the low probability outcome with shocking results. And, if you’re in the “Chaim Bloom is a Genius” and should replace Moz end of this year or next then I agree with Brenden, whoever that next guy is should have the reins right away. And you know that DeWitt is drooling thinking about have a payroll reduction of 50% because that’s EXACTLY what they’d prefer to do. And I’ll co-sign this because the Cards in deep sh*t. The farm was #23 on MLB Pipeline. And they don’t have any MLB ready arms we can say “oh he’s gonna be great”. Debbie Downer on TGIF!

The only way Sonny Gray is an ace is when he pitches in a bad division in a good hitting division he’s a nice 3 or 4 but never a 1 or 2. He’s a smart man he knows his skill set he intentionally signs with teams like the Twins and Cardinals because they’re in light hitting divisions which in turn improves a decent pitchers numbers. Brenden I’m impressed with your honesty when it comes to this organization now. I always took you for the eternal optimist as you know now or always did this front office can’t fix this team.

And now tonight. Another trainwreck in the making????? Up 4-0. I told my dad we were up 4-0, and he said “Turn it on.” He’s in the Alzheimer’s window and doesn’t like anything stressful. He looked happy to be watching them up 4-0. And then, the Cardinals did what they do. Poor dad. I’ve become immune. It’s an ugly experience being a fan of these guys. Still hoping for the best. However, it looks like we are back to the different failure every game. Sigh.

Mo built a boring team. And he used a foundation that is crumbling, Goldschmidt and Arranado. Goldy was due for some age regression but Arranado I believe is struggling with back problems that seemed to plague him last year. We don't have starting depth and our position players are suffering from injuries and long droughts. Just like they have the last three years, but Mo expects trends to suddenly change for no apparent reason. To top it all off, the defensive fundamentals are atrocious for stretches. All they did this winter was to improve just enough to get to 500. But that's going to be tough with their two stars going the wrong way.

The Cards have been boring since Jose Rodriguez left. Even Yadi’s last few years were rough, though they were better than this. Paul Goldschmidt is an all time great, but his personality just sets the tone for this “ho hum” team. When your MVP shows no emotion, your team will show no emotion. I see more passion and emotion from the high school Freshmen teams I coach. I think we need to go full Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell. Start bringing guys into the organization like Lynn, Gray, Burleson and Winn. Those guys play with an edge. Arenado was that guy, but I think he looks confused out there most of the time lately. They need to trade Goldschmidt and Arenado. This team won’t get better until you have Pujols and Yadi type passion leading the team.

Well, historically worst batting with RISP and worst defense in the game will do that. It’s a miracle this train wreck is near .500. What I notice about Sonny’s career is when he’s on, he’s eite. When not, pedestrian and yea, would like to see more length in his starts. Wishing the rest of the team would use the entire field for hits like Masyn. Phillies have 4 starters with ERAs 2.77 or less. Cardinals, not so much.

If anything, the NL as a whole is bailing them out because of how top heavy and awful it is this year. If it were as decent as it was last year, the Cardinals would likely be much worse, record wise. Even still they're far from a playoff team. I'm not really a Cards fan but it is frustrating to see them rest on their laurels and being out of touch as an organization instead of evolving with the times.

Charlie also stated in one of his videos he wasnt a cardinal fan. You stated you werent a fan. Or listening to Cole who’s not a fan and Cam who knows nothing about baseball. Theres no real connection there. Also Attendance could be down because these days everything is soo expensive. Just a thought.

Ahahaha "I'm a writer, I'm objective" - that's hilarious. I agree he's not a Cardinals fan, though. Quite the opposite; in fact he has total contempt for the fanbase. What do they know? Where's their lanyard? Do they get to talk to Dylan Carlson? They're not JOURNALISTS. They're not EXPERTS. No Cardinals fan could suck up to the grossly incompetent field manager like he does. Speaking of: You KNOW the Cardinals are going to finish 81-81 and Bootlicker Brenden will say ah too bad but ACKSHULLY their record would have been 71-91 again if Saint Oliver Marmol, the greatest manager in Cardinals history, hadnt saved the season with his theatrical ejection in Milwaukee!
