Big series next three days Today Tuesday need to be days they for sure capitalize on as Braves only have Sale pitching on Wednesday.. cutting Atalanta lead for the first WC spot to 2.5-3.5 games would be huge

Man, imagine where we'd be if we had won even just six of the games earlier in the year? Still, I am THROUGHLY enjoying watching the Cardinals again! Even the losses have been a bit more interesting recently. The guys that deserve some special shoutouts are Burleson, Donovan, Winn, Pages, and (I cannot believe I'm saying this) Crawford! If we can keep this momentum going, and get some guys back from injury, I feel like we just need to upgrade the rotation, maybe acquire another reliever, and we're back in the race!

Bad teams randomly beat good teams, good teams don't regularly lose to bad teams. The Cards randomly beat good teams while regularly losing to bad teams. They are a bad team going through a hot streak, something all bad teams do. Good teams don't need hot streaks to be competitive because they are a good team. The Cards need hot streaks to be competitive for a WC spot.

Bernie's so stunning and brave! He says he doesn't give a damn what people say, he thinks Marmol "has done an excellent job with the bullpen." Wow, Im sure that ends the argument for his fanboys but if you'll indulge me for a minute: Kittredge is on pace for 76 appearances, JoJo on pace for 74, and Helsley for 72. That's a heck of a workload! For reference, Seth Maness's most appearances came in 2015 with 76, Matt Bowman in 2017 with 75, and Kevin Siegrist with a whopping 81 in 2015. I bring these names up because their careers were severely shortened or derailed by such overuse. Ive heard Bernie Miklasz over the last several years correctly blame Mike Matheny for shredding these pitchers' arms, but here he is praising Marmol for doing the same thing. Why would Bernie contradict himself? Because fans are sick of Marmol, and Bernie Miklasz's career at this point is basically devoted to countersignalling them, sneering at them, scolding them for wrongthink. If and when Marmol regains popularity with the fanbase, then at that moment Bernie Miklasz will suddenly remember that it's bad when managers overwork relievers

  • @brandonmcduff

Dude all you guys do is whine and complain. Teams struggle dude. It's apart of baseball and sports in general. "Fans being sick of marmol" is fkn dumb as hell. He literally turned this season around and is winning now. What else does a manger need to do? That is the goal, to win games right? To be one of the best teams the last six weeks without Contreras (their best hitter at the time he went down) no permanent 5th starter. Goldschmidt and Arenado not playing like they normally do, that's really freaking impressive man, no matter how much you guys weirdly hate a guy you've never met. Idk man it just gets old and annoying. A lot of you guys almost don't deserve a winning team, because look how you act when they are down. That's just my opinion. And he's not overworking anyone. He's playing the guys that are available to him, while also considering the specific situation. That's the job and if they have to go out there, that's what they are being paid for. This comment is kinda more generalized but I left it under you to address the "fans hating marmol" thing

Yay. I’m happy they dusted the Giants, who get dry humped by Mad Dog Russo like a beitch. Russo claims the 1942 & 44 Cards WS wins are tainted because of the war, and believes the Giants are the *real* National League Torch bearer. Even when Musial died he didn’t give Stan his due, saying that a lot of the stars weren’t playing during Musial’s best seasons. IDK how I got off on that tangent but there it is. As much as I love Albert Pujols, I woud have to put Barry Bonds as the greatest living player. Let's not pretend BB was not a hall of famer prior to ped use. His run from 2001-2004 was insane. Peds or not, nobody wanted to pitch to him. It was incredible. As great as Pujols was, he never had a stadium built for him. They built a new ballpark for Barry Bonds. Like it or not, that is his house. I am not ready to buy into this Cardinals team yet. We simply have no thunder in the middle of the lineup. Now that Gorman has disappeared, it's absolutely infuriating to see th manager to continue to put them in the middle of the lineup to kill any type of rally we've got going. Drop them in the order, give them a few more days every month, and let some of the younger guys come in and see what they can do. This not a slugfest team, we've got to adopt a small ball approach. Move runners over, hit and run, steal bases, etc. That is something we can do to win.

I don't care what their record SHOULD be. Still have issues. Need to find some relievers other than the "big 3". All of NL is the same case, most teams have flaws. 9 teams still in the playoff hunt. I don't agree with Oli's moves, case in point Mondays game using Helsley in back to back games. Almost lost that game. There are others in that BP that could be used. Including the same just because if you can use if game is more comfortable 3 run lead.
