Remember Kanan's lessons to Sabine, for weilding the Saber. She said it was heavy, until she connected with it, and released her fear.

Seeing the N1 Starfighter return was one of the most unexpected surprises in this series. You would recognize it in yellow as the ship young Anakin used in Episode I to destroy the droid control ship. It's sleek, it's fast, and is basically the space equivalent of a midlife crisis Corvette. 😂

The canyon Mando flew through with his new ship, was the same canyon from Episode 1, when Anakin competed in the pod race. Also the ship is a Naboo starfighter, which can be seen in the space battle of Naboo in episode 1.

Nice little background tidbit: the actor playing the young "cop" in the X-wing, the one who didn't want to fill out paperwork, is Max Lloyd-Jones. You've seen him before, just not his face. He's the body double for Luke Skywalker. Mark Hamill worked extensively with Max to get the composite Luke just right, and once joked that Max looked more like young Mark as Luke than Mark did.

If recall on Rebels, Sabine Wren also found the darksaber to be heavy and hard to yield. Kanan had to each her her not to resist it. Since she gave it the Bo Katan, she never earned it in combat and the Mandalorians believed it was cursed. Beggars Canyon was where Luke Skywalker wrecked his T-16 Skyhopper mentioned in A New Hope and also seen in the pod racing scene in The Phantom Menace. Anakin Skywalker used the term "wizard" back then. Mando's new ship is a Naboo starfighter previously seen in The Phantom Menace. It's pre-clone war tech.

Picking up on things you didn’t notice for you :) The armorer said those who claim the saber without right will put a curse on mandalore hinting back to when Sabine handed it over to Bo Katan Moff Gidian shortly after laid waste to mandalore. Dins clan is deathwatch and they walk “The Way” which they stated in clone wars that their goal is to bring back old mandalorian traditions which includes not taking their helmets off. They took their helmets off in the clone wars but after the destruction of their planet they got closer to old traditions which is why they don’t remove their helmets now. Bo Katan departed from deathwatch after Maul killed Pre Visla which is why she removes her helmet and represents her own clan. I have a theory that the armorer is shady and still represents Maul because of the horns on her head but not completely sure. Mandos new ship is the same one Anakin used to blow up the trade federation ship when he was 9 in The Phantom Menace also Beggers Canyon is where Jabba held the pod race that freed Anakin.

One correction to that: Din's clan is a "clan of two" per the Armorer, namely the Mudhorn Clan, which is why Din wears the Mudhorn signet. Din's group or coven is not Deathwatch but the Children of the Watch, one of several descendant groups from the old Deathwatch group. The CotW have added to the Deathwatch's original teachings, leading to former members of Deathwatch calling them a "cult". Deathwatch was quite comfortable removing their helmets.

While they were rebuilding the N-1, the music included disjointed snippets of Mando's theme, symbolizing his broken emotional state without Grogu. When they roll out the completed N-1, as you pointed out, the music plays Mando's theme in full on the cello, indicating that his heart is finally starting to heal.

Yep the highlight of the book of Boba with Mando coming back and what's to come! And as well as others said ,the explanation about the dark saber by the forger was an elaboration of the Sabine arc with the dark saber in Rebels. Also I just noticed the forger seems to know a bit about the Jedi ways which makes me curious what else she knows about them that she didn't tell🤔 A fun reaction! Waiting for the next episode🤩

Bo-Katan & the other Mandalorian clans follow the maintstream way of Mandalore. Meaning modern. Unlike Mando’s clan, Children of the Watch follow a more ancient tradition way of Mandalore. It’s like that movie “The Last Samurai”. Japanese have different clans. They have a civil war. They supported different gov’t such as pro-emperor vs pro-shogunate. It’s like “Old Japan vs Modern Japan”. Shoguns who still use armors, swords, spears, bows & arrows, etc. vs the Modern Japan where they’re equipped with rifles, bayonets, cannons, railroads, western clothing, etc. This is best I can illustrate it. Sry, if I wasn’t able to catch the appropriate terms but then again no one is perfect. Not everyone can find the right words.

It felt like an episode of The Mandalorian because it was shot first for season three. The numbers on Boba Fett ratingswise were dropping like a stone. So Favreau had to do something drastic to get the numbers back up. So they took the first two episodes of Mando season three and shoved them into Book of Boba Fett.

7:00 Paz Vizsla is not a descendant of Pre Vizsla (he's too old), just another member of House Vizsla. - Side Note: Clan Vizsla is the head of House Vizsla. Clan Wren is also part of House Vizsla. 7:40 As I've explained before (and will explain again, though much, much more briefly: From an *objective* point of view, the "Children of the [Death] Watch" are indeed a cult (in that they are an extremist sect of their overall organization). They were raised with the beliefs of Death Watch, who themselves were an extremist version of traditional/old Mandalorians (the way Mandalorians were before different factions/sets of beliefs came along about a century prior). Also, just a reminder that Paz Vizsla is played by Jon Favreau (the director, and also Happy Hogan in the MCU). 11:40 You are correct. It is not true. The Armorer does not have the authority to declare someone "no longer a Mandalorian." No one does. This is simply her kicking Din out of their sect/faction, which adamantly believes that Mandalorians cannot show their faces to others. Din never did anything wrong. He just hasn't realized that The Tribe (the Children of the Watch) are wrong. 12:10 Even excommunicated from the covert, Din still defeated Paz Vizsla fairly, and so he still has a right to keep it. Or from the other side, they don't have the right to take it from him. And there already exists precedent that an outsider can hold the Darksaber (ie. Maul). The Armorer, and the rest of the covert are VERY likely Maul loyalists (those who remained with Death Watch after Maul took over as Mand'alor). 14:20 That is a Naboo N-1 Starfighter. You likely recognize it from Episode I - The Phantom Menace, as the starfighter little Anakin piloted and destroyed the CIS Lucrehulk-class Battleship. Except this one is like when you find a classic car and drop a built HEMI engine in it. 18:00 You have NO IDEA how relatable this scene is to car people. Finds a fancy old classic, fixes it up, slaps a hot rodded engine into it, turns it on, takes it out for a joyride, and gets pulled over. 18:48 Beggar's Canyon is actually a significant location. In the prequels, it's part of where Anakin did the podrace. And Luke also flew a T-16 through it regularly. Originally, Mandalorians were savages (like... uncivilized savages). And over time, the Mandalorians became more civilized and less savage, or even "weak". Then came Jaster Mereel, the Mand'alor of the time, who proposed basically a new constitution that brought them back to their warrior roots, but ditched the savagery part of it. Many agreed (the "True Mandalorians"), and just as many opposed ("Death Watch"). And then there were those who didn't care and stayed out of the conflict. In the end, the two sides wiped each other out, except for their leaders: Jango Fett (who succeeded Jaster Mereel as Mand'alor) and Tor Vizsla (who escaped). Jango was captured and sold into slavery, but eventually escaped and killed Tor Vizsla. He then went into self-exile as "just a man trying to make his way in the galaxy" until his death in 22 BBY on Geonosis. Meanwhile on Mandalore, those that stayed out of the fight rose to power in the absence of the warrior clans and called themselves the "New Mandalorians" under Duchess Satine Kryze. Death Watch briefly made a comeback, led by Pre Vizsla, and then Maul, but ultimately failed. The New Mandalorians would be deposed anyways when Order 66 resulted in the Occupation of Mandalore, which united all Mandalorians into two groups: those supporting the Empire, and those opposing it. Eventually, the Empire would be driven off Mandalore by Sabine and her friends with the help of Clan Wren. And of course, not taking too well to losing, the Empire basically glassed Mandalore, bringing us to where we are now in 9 ABY. So... allow me to explain lightsabers (including the Darksaber) and non-Force-sensitives. While a lightsaber can be said to just be a "laser sword" (and in Legends, was detailed as originating from "frozen baster" technology, where the blade is just a single blaster bolt that was frozen and contained in an electromagnetic field), it is a bit more than that due to the Kyber crystal. Kyber crystals are basically inorganic, but living, semi-sentient things. They are a mass of the Force itself, and as such, in the hands of someone who is capable of perceiving or using the Force (such as a Jedi or Sith), they're capabilities are greater. But in the hands of someone without the Force (such as our Mandalorian here, Din Djarin) it is a very cumbersome weapon. Keep in mind that unlike a metal sword, a lightsaber's blade has *zero mass* and therefore feels very different. Grab a lightsaber hilt (or just a small ~5lb dumbbell) and try to swing it around as if it had a blade. That's what a lightsaber canonically feels like (unless you have the Force). And while (as we've seen in Star Wars: Rebels, when Sabine was being trained with the Darksaber) a non-Force-sensitive *can* wield a lightsaber fairly effectively with training, it still has a spiritual component that non-Force-sensitives have a harder time overcoming. A lightsaber's blade is not just made up of physical energy, but spiritual energy as well (again, due to the Kyber crystal). The crystal (which provides the blade's energy) is a conduit that channels the wielder's energy into the blade. And it would appear that the Darksaber is either unique in this aspect, or demonstrates it to a much larger degree. Of all the known wielders of the Darksaber (Tarre Vizsla, Tor Vizsla, Pre Vizsla, Maul, Bo-Katan Kryze, Sabine Wren, Gideon, and Din Djarin), only two were Force-sensitive (Tarre Vizsla and Maul, who were a Jedi and Sith respectively). And we've seen Pre Vizsla, Bo-Katan, and Gideon wield it in battle quite effectively, despite not being Force-sensitive.

4:00 Luke is only training Jedis. Also having Mando around while training Grogu would be an issue cause Jedi are supposed to forgo attachments and Grogu would be focused on Mando and Mando would be worrying about Grogu’s training. 9:26 he’s fighting the saber. He needs to make the saber apart of him. 11:41 Bo-Katan is from a different Mandalorian tribe. Mando’s tribe are religious zealots who believe that their founder is how they are supposed to live. He was able to take the saber with him cause he won the battle. 17:28 this is the same style ship that Anakin flew in Episode 1.

I was very conflicted about this episode. Yes, it's great to see Mando again, but this show is called "The Book of Boba Fett" and Boba Fett isn't even in it at all! Also, I feel like major life changes for Mando (being exiled from the order and getting a new ship) should've taken place on HIS show. Someone who didn't see this show would probably be confused. Sidenote, did you recognize Mando's new ship as one of the Naboo starfighters from The Phantom Menace?

The actor playing Boba was joking about how Mando stole his show, and unfortunately, even though he was joking, I have to agree. It was supposed to be a series about Boba, not Mando Season 2.5. This is the effect when Disney forces a director to produce a certain series and imposes on them how it should look.
