Once, I played an intensely modded game with Gigastructures mod. And when I attacked the center of the galaxy with my giant fleet, the game simply stopped....... I mean it, it stopped due to memory deficiency. My 32 GB of RAM evaporated and it took roughly 30 minutes for the battle to conclude.

I like to imagine what if something like this happened today or some decades ago in our solar system, like a major battle in ww2 happening right by a seachore near an island populated by indigenous tribes. Most people probably would think this is an apocaliptic event or an all-right entire war between those who are fighting either to save them or to enslave them. Meanwhile that is just a single battle in a giant war for a whole lot of other reasons with decades or centuries of history with those empires that lead to that momment and they don't even care at all about that insignifican island or its inhabitants.

I’ve always loved games with open politics between players. The MMO game EVE has actually been studied by universities because of the in-depth politics between alliances.
the beggining with Mahler 3rd symphony gave me Legend of Galactic Heroes vibes
the only true death in this battle was the computer
The computer beckons you to unplug it. It weeps in agony for dozens of minutes as you play the "haha funny alien game". Your computer is on the verge of death, and yet here you are. Turning your PC into a toaster oven, frying anything and everything inside. It begged and pleaded for a quick end to its suffering and you denied it that. I am deducting 4 kromer from your bank account as reparations.
Mans fighting the war of heaven with the Sumeru Soundtrack
" I wasn't attacking you, i was increasing game performance by reducing available units"
This was insane I can't wait to play this game again been about a year since I played.
I used to play a heavily modified game, right after MegaCorp. I, my vassals, my allies, and even two fallen empires fought a massive battle for the foothold in L-Cluster against the precursor race from the mod. Sending reinforcements all the time almost bankrupted us, the system couldn't be opened, and I couldn't send some of my fleets to the system, because I think it reached some limit. The battle lasted almost a year.
Kinda disappointed I couldn´t really help my allies in that match, I was too busy being space-siberia xD Anyways, I did dare to click into the battle, but holy my PC was dying. Let´s hope we meet on the battlefield, as allies next time :3
4:39 we are unable to discern the main fleet in hyperspace, that can only mean one thing. The main fleet has arrived
The moments where you were showing senate made me feel like I’m watching a real movie
MA! MA, I'M IN A KZread VIDEO! (I'm the Ketling Reclaimers)
One time me and 2 of my buddies were using a modset that included NSC; we were still getting a feel for the correct difficulty since NSC changes the balancing so much that it completely throws the ai out of wack and whatever we were on was way too easy, the crisis was crushed by one person in seconds. we were bored and all-powerful so we decided to make our own climax by just throwing all our fleets at each other in one system. The game proceeded at about 2 frames per second. Occasionally it would rise to 3 or 4. The battle lasted 5 minutes. Only 3 players were involved. NSC is insane.
My computer is heating up just watching this video and I’m watching this on my phone.
The craziest battle to unfold right there.
Biggest space battle, doesn't bother zooming in at all to see the action.
I love this game. I live for these moments in game.
The shroud entities felt true terror when they saw that
This really good I can't imagion the lag on that I never could understand the game enough to get a good handle on the playthrough though
That was fun... I enjoyed the camaraderie
This is some real Legend of the Galactic Heroes vibes with the size of this battle
If only the game wouldn't lag this bad in those massives battles. Gosh they would look so fucking awesome.
I wish there were weapons that stacked up with ships being clustered so sending stacks could be risky business. Else I just find people doing the wrecking ball tactic only as nothing can really stop it other than another wrecking ball or someone so far ahead in the tech tree they're basically god.

At that point one has to ask, how can people even play this this late into the game considering the lag from the pops everyone must be having. There must be over 10k pops in that galaxy
@historyrepeat402
Жыл бұрын
In multiplayer you stay in normal speed most of the time in late game, so it’s not as noticeable in non intense situation.
It should be easy to reduce lag a bit. 1. Halve naval cap from everything. 2+1 per anchorage, 15 from tech, etc. 2. Double all player ship stats (HP and damage and repair). You can do this quickly on hulls with +1 multiplier. 3. Double other % mods (as there is a base +1 multipier). 4. Halve alloy income from jobs and relics, double alloy market prices. 5. Halve fleet caps. 6. Double ship build times. Similar game, just half as many ships.

@@Preaplanes I made a geometric pop mod. I didn't manage to get migration working. But each pop grew in scale with planet size. And planets had far fewer pops, but similar output. Ie, with 5 pops everyone was 2x as productive, 3x at 10, 4x at 15, 5x at 20. So 20 pops represented a 100 pop world. Planet sizes were tiny, buildings super restricted, same with districts. As each pop was bigger, growth was also smaller at "high" pop levels. Couldn't figure out how to get migration to work right, so stopped fiddling with it.
