I just bought one of these hats at REI. I'm going to the Indy 500 race this coming Sunday and didn't want to bake. I'm impressed with the hat and agree it is top quality. Thanks for the review and kind regards.

The laugh track as you use the back head strap for your chin is a nice touch.

I recently forgot my LTM6 on a plane returning from Mexico. I liked it so much I went to replace it, only to find they are now made in China, not Canada! I just can't support Tilley after pulling production out of Canada. I now need to find something similar not made in China.

That's terrible that they did that.

If this version is like the one that I have had for a few decades now, the 4 page owner’s manual is located in the top with the flotation foam.

I love my Tilley LTM5 hat. It was expensive, but I’ve never had a hat that fits me so perfectly. In moderately warm weather, it makes my head sweat more, but on a scorching 90 degree day with full sun it makes my head feel 20 degrees cooler by keeping the sun off me and once the crown starts soaking up sweat it evaporates so fast it cools my head. It’s quite the amazing hat. Most hats make my head hotter, but this one makes it cooler.

That hat may be just what the doctor ordered. I had some nasty skin cancer removed from my face and need a hat that won't get too warm but will help keep my face shaded better than my baseball cap. Great review... I subscribed.

Is this a soaker hat too--it reminds me of a golf hat I had and on hot days, I’d immerse the hat with water and it kept me cool.

I don't think so, but it might work.

Cheap Chinese hats might be 15 or 20 bucks but a REAL Canadian Tilley is worth every dime
