For your information on the top loader, bulky uses slow speed agitation and fast spin, heavy is regular agitation and fast spin, permanent press is regular agitation but a slow spin, delicate is intermittent slow agitation and slow spin. Nice demo.

We are pulling the trigger on the Speed Queen FF7 front load washer. Our 16 year old LG top loader finally bit the dust but these days it seems like all brands build low quality machines. Speed Queen seems to offer the best quality. We were considering Miele but they only make compact machines and we want full size. Thank you for your review.

I have this pair with the manual controls on my main floor. I’ve heard that the reason that they aren’t available for domestic use is that Allied Laundry got a huge government contract to replace all of the machines for every military base internationally and that they’ll return to market when the contract is filled. I hope so because mine are fifteen years old and I’d like them to be around in the next ten to fifteen years when I need them.

I really had a hard time making my mind up with getting the top loader or front loader. If you check out my videos on my speed queen you will see I do love them. Do you feel that one is any better than the other? Top/front loaders.

I’m a front loader fan being the son of a dry cleaner. Mine is fifteen years old and hasn’t required any service though I replaced the belts on the pair myself two years ago because they were inexpensive and I thought that I’d change them as preventative maintenance. It’s the best built machine that I’ve ever had. It’s up there with my best built things along with my Kirby and my Kitchenaid stand mixer.

@@Bunkysworkshop many consumers and critics say the top loaders do not clean very well at all but they say the front loaders do clean very well. So, that is definitely what we’re going with. We were sold on the TR7 top loader until reading so many reviews citing poor cleaning performance. Great reviews on the front loaders, though.

Great video mate but with pods they get tossed in the drum before the clothes go in. I was doing the same but one day I read the box for tide and well oops I was doing it wrong. LOL I love my speed queen but sometimes I wish I had gone with the front loader.

I loved watching that my friend. I’ve only ever used a top loader Speed Queen at our friends house in Buffalo, they were new but the ones just before the regulations and recent changes come in, so people say they previous ones are better than the new ones. Was nice to see a front loader one. Thank you 😊

I think people always say the old ones are better than the new ones. I think that's likely true with the top loader, and I'm glad I got mine before they had to change, but I have a hard time believing that there's much to do for SQ for the front loaders. I mean, in the US they don't have heaters so not really any electricity use, and they already don't use much water. Plenty of other companies make FL that use less water thant SQ and do a good job, so I have to figure there's a way to make those work well with less water. I do feel a bit bad using like 60+ gallons for one load of laundry, but I live where it hasn't stopped raining in months, and I have a private well, so the water just takes a bit longer to fill.

James Pulver Hi James, living in the UK I’ve literally no experience over this brand, but what I did notice was the quality, like what you’d find at the Laundromat, strong commercial grade machines, for the home. I’m just a fan of front loaders because it’s what I grew up with and what’s the norm, but if I could I’d definitely have one of these top loaders in my laundry room alongside my front loader. 😍😍😍😍

I used these washers back in 2013 thru 2017 in Apartment setting. Although good washers: one problem that always occured was that socks would get caught in rubber liner where door closes. Not caught by not putting all items in tube. Caught after the machine started. Socks would make their way to rubber seal where door closes, remain there, and not get washed. I believe that this was due to the fact that the tube/bascket doesn't tilt upward at an angle like most front load washers. Have you had this issue?

  • @PerformanceReviews

@@PerformanceReviews it gets loud on very unbalanced instances. But other than that, very quiet, powerful, and effective. Then again, the first washer my parents had was a 98 Kenmore top loader and it was loud, then we had an HE top loader. But it was belt driven instead of direct drive so it was loud, but not as loud as the first washer we had. Then we have this Kenmore front loader with accela-wash and has 6 motion wash and is direct drive. Uses the perfect amount of water 98% of the time, gets clothes cleaner than the other washers we had, spins the hell outta the clothes, has a 4.5 cu ft drum, and was about $600 on black friday.

That front loader is actually "Small". I have a 2003 Kenmore front Loader, and it's probably less than 3 cu ft and is about the same size as far as cabinet size. It is the same size as the top loader it replaced way back then. Front Loaders have gotten bigger and bigger over the past couple of decades and are 4 or 5 cu ft and huge. Speed Queen is still "small" by comparison. I wish I had gotten this model because my old one is also "rear controls" like that, which makes it shorter (same height as my old dryer).
