@@ssnoc When I was assigned in the U.S from time to time I used to go around in your country just like any tourist. And I came across this scene in a construction site being worked on by a construction firm and here is my story. I came across this particular construction site, and other sites just like it out of curiosity and they said these same stories again and again! In the late 1960s and early 1970s construction workers used to say they can toss anything into a laundry machine that is heavily caked in oil and mud and even heavy boots in construction sites and these laundry machines and driers just keeps on doing the job 24-7 and 365 DAYS NON-STOP for many and many and many and many and mnay decades! One of the older workers said, these washing machines just keep on taking all kinds of abuse and yet they did a very good job in cleaning our stuff for decades without any problem ever since I have been working for this company for more than 50 years, he is a field foreman on that site. And my question is this. WHAT HAPPEN? I came across this particular construction site, and other sites just like it out of curiosity and they said these same stories again and again! I AM NOT LYING! AND I CAN STILL REMEMBER WHAT HE SAID AND I CAN STILL REMEMBER HIS OLD WEATHERED FACE WHEN HE TOLD ME THAT. So my question is, what happen!? I love my LG TOP loader.. It cleans the clothes very well and I can download custom cycles for what ever clothing issue I have and it has steam and fancy sanitizing and allergy removal options ... It depends on your model I guess I do believe some of them suck though for what ever reason. But I can testify there's really good HE machines out there that do a very good job as well as this speed queen and even better. My washer for the first 5 minutes uses very little water and also allows you to add clothing if needed, then after it does a bunch a weird stuff then proceeds to add alot of water to always completely submerge my clothing so I've never had that issue on my washer of it not using enough water so I could be a sensor issue thats causing alot of peoples issues because the washer isn't correctly picking up the load amount.

No my friends.. HE washers suck... period.. Ok I bought (and can prove it) a 1,200.00 dollar HE top load washer... it cleans... yeah... it actually does fill with a decent amount of water... but it has 0 turn over.. the clothes sit on top and sometimes doesn't even get wet... And it takes like 3 hours to wash!!!!!! ????????? It doesn't clean anywheres near like the machines I grew up with.. I've also used front load HE washers, several different types and they are horrible... I'm nearly 50 and grew up using machines like the one here in this video and honestly the machine he's using here isn't doing the best compared to an actual vintage washer.. You are used to or perhaps aren't old enough to know what the washing machines were years ago.. I can't stress this enough.. Soap doesn't clean clothes... WATER cleans clothes... the detergent just softens the water to help the water clean better.. and then the soap also makes your clothes smell good... That's it.. But WATER cleans your clothes.. and the more water there is, the cleaner the clothes will come out.. period.. I don't make basic scientific law.. I can only tell you about it.. Also your clothes are being circulated in the water that is cleaning them... > Less water more dirt per water molecule.... and that gets swished around all the clothes that are in the same load.. your feet smelling socks gets smeared all over your polo shirt.. and then very little water is there to even chance a proper rinse... CLEAN??? you just THINK > If you see VERY LITTLE water washing your clothes answer this question... If water is what cleans your clothes how does very little water clean your clothes... Not by magic I can tell you that... Take a shower with just one glass of water.. See if that works.. Because that's what your doing with your laundry with those rip off HE nachines..

Bought this a month ago and could kick myself for not having done so sooner. When my Kitchen-aid (with direct drive) utterly failed after 15 years I went out and bought a Whirlpool. At that time they were pushing HE machines without an agitator. I bought the one that still had an agitator. Well that POS lasted 5-6 years before needing springs and rods and whatever so it wouldin't bang around from being off balance during a spin. I couldn't stand it. I said screw it and ordered the Speed Queen TC5 and the dryer. I'm so happy.

I went with the 2023 Speed Queen TC5 (TC5003WN) over the version of the Maytag and Whirlpool commercial washers that I could find available to consumers in 2023. The negative reviews of the Maytag sealed the deal, which is too bad since what we replaced was a Maytag commercial that worked well for 14 years without a service call. Also wanted the pre-soak and extra rinse cycle, no-lid lock and the better (IMHO) suspension. Even though the dimensions of the SQ are smaller, 25 5/8 width vs 17 for the Maytag, the shipping weight is 196 lb vs 150.5 for the Maytag, that extra 45.5 pounds of material is undoubtedly used to make a more durable machine. It's interesting to note that the sizes of the 3 commercial washers are 3.2 cu.ft. (SQ), 3.3 cu.ft (Whirlpool) and 3.5 cu.ft. (Maytag). Seems like one of the secrets to a lasting machine is limiting load size to prevent it from shaking apart. Maybe a massive capacity is more of a sales gimmick. Hopefully, we will have many years of trouble free use of our SQ machine.

I still do not like Speed Queen (Alliance) way of doing business..removing bad reviews from their website, blacklisting Eugene for providing truthful information about some of their washers etc. That was almost a deal breaker. I do feel there are washers that offer better turnover, but, I bought what I felt was a good balance of wash performance and build quality. I also took in consideration the ease of fixing the machines if a part failed. I hope this helps.

The thing I like about this washer, which is why I am probably going to buy it, is it has a chore to do wash clothes and it does it. It might get loud, angry sometimes, walk across the floor, shake rattle and roll but it does its job. I don't need a machine to verify how much hot or cold water I use. I don't want one that self protects because it's slightly off balance. I don't want one that contemplates its first move when I turn it on. When I say go, you go, not back talk and negotiate with me like a spoiled teenager. I hope that is what this washer is because I have returned enough smart HE washers.

Thanks for all of these videos, Eugene. I just bought a TC5000WN a few weeks ago to replace an older GE model that cleaned the hell out of clothes but had a bad transmission (brake clutch, really) and couldn't fix it. I was really pissed off after leaving our local Lowes and researching a few of the models that had "agitators" in them and found out that indeed they aren't real (agitators). We have 4 dirty kids and need our washer to kick ass week in and week out. The TC5000WN is absolutely fantastic. During this whole process (fixing the old GE and researching new washers) I've learned more than I think I probably should know about washers and your videos were instrumental in that. Thanks for what you do!

@@alecvip7562 Better than the GE, though I miss two of the functions from the older GE. The load select or water level select was a "nice to have" on the GE. With the TC5 you either get what amounts to a half tub or a full tub (with deep fill). This is a little wasteful at times but in reality most of our loads are usually between those two fill options. The other isn't necessarily a function but the spin speed on the GE feels like it was double that of the TC5. The Speed Queen's spin speed is really quite slow in my opinion so most towels come out more damp than they used to. We're still using our old GE dryer (bought with the old washer around 11 years ago) and it's not having any real issues drying everything in about the same time. I went with the TC5 over the Maytag because of the "fixability", durability and the excellent warranty that was and is being offered until the end of the year (10 year warranty). I absolutely did not want to spend $1k on a washer but I think this will see my kids through college and the youngest is 18 months old. The build quality is really great and it is on a completely different planet compared to what you'll find in the big box stores. The HE machines are fraudulent. They boast HUGE drum sizes but don't have the motors or drives to handle the capacity. They are not meant to last 10 years let alone 20 years like these Speed Queens can last.

I remember seeing an American washing machine of the HIGHEST QUALITY that has a RING BEARING around it's spinning tub so that it won't wobble! What happen to your ORIGINAL late 1960s and early 1970s high quality engineering designs? We need to start creating long lasting appliances. There is a funny thing going on right now in the appliance industry. Energy efficiency is being trumpeted by everyone with new stickers and labels and claims. But what about how long the appliance lasts before it ends up in a landfill? If an old refrigerator or freezer would last 40-50 years before being replaced, and the new ones are barely lasting 10-15 years, that means we are making 3-4 times the number of appliances we used to. Being very conservative, we are plowing through 2-3 times as many household appliances as we used to. How can that possibly be better for the environment?

I can still remember buying appliances in the 1950s and they are still functioning as good as new in 2021 and in the 1950s the environmental problems were already solved if you just do a little research on the 1950s Muskegon Program and the 21st century Solar AquaCell program! In fact, in the 1930s and 1920s, using multi-staged co-generation systems, we can make liquid ozone to neutralize raw sewage water and help nature handle it for nature has a very powerful self-cleansing processes inherent in it and all we have to do is observe nature, study nature, copy nature, and use nature's powerful forces to be amplified by man to help it cope to meet our demands without putting any strain on it.

@@JohnEdith930 Still working very well. It appears that the tub is no longer indexing, it has good rollover, no problems with it going out of balance regardless of load size. I usually use the normal-eco cycle, deep fill, extra rinse and the cold water setting, but it also allows a hot wash, water straight from the water heater and temping between 138 to 144 degrees F with a calibrated lab thermometer (have to run the heavy duty wash setting for that), warm coming in about 110 to 115 degrees, cool closer to luke-warm around 90. I usually run full mixed loads and with the extra rinse, the cycle comes in at about forty minutes. My water bill is actually lower since I bought the SQ, probably because the so-called HE machines used so much water to try to balance the loads. The SQ stays in balance throughout the load. It does run a bit louder than the so-called HE machines, but the laundry room is in the opposite end of the house from the bedrooms, no real problem. The sound is a steady droning noise, no mechanical knocking or cabinet banging, and the suspension is very strong and well-damped. The clothes don't come out as dry as the faster-spinning, but I have not found that to be a major issue. Overall, I have two almost-insignificant negatives (sound level and slightly wetter clothes at the end of the cycle), but after suffering through two so-called high-efficiency washers in six years before buying the SQ, the TC5000 is more convenient and more efficient. If it lasts as well as I expect, it will be near perfect.

I just did my first loads in my new SQ TC5 washer and dryer. I love the washer! It warmed my heart to see the water level high enough to wash and rinse the clothes so well. BUT my normal sized load of towels was still not dry after TWO HOURS! I had it on the Automatic Regular Max Dry and it took a full 2 1/2 hours to get them dry. I turned off the Extended Tumble after the first cycle because tumbling around in cool air wasn't drying the towels. For the next load, I weighed my towels and only did 9 lbs. It still took 2 1/2 hours for them to dry. For my next load, I did 8 lbs of jeans. I set it on the Timed Drying this time and after the full 75 minutes, they were still damp. I can't find a lot of feedback on the dryer, but I did wonder why the warranty was only 3 years when it is so much longer on their other models. What am I missing here? They are less than 48 hours old!

Uses way, WAY too much water. A good front loader could probably do a months' worth of clothes in what is used to fill that washer once. Time and technology march on - a good front loader, a good detergent and there is zero need to wash in anything but cold. (I don't get washers - many use hot for towels when all the towels I have say wash cold right on the label - I trust the manufacturer of the item way more than the makers of the washer.)

Most of the time I don't even use the electric dryer preferring instead to hang my wash out on the lines in the back yard unless it's raining. I loved watching my mother's friends' Frigidaire wash clothes when I was like 3 years old. Rather than back and forth, it went up and down. Talk about entertainment. Hooked, I have seen it all. Sheena complained over at Pop's house the Maytag was busted as the soap powder was still on the top of the clothes after it was done. I don't think even the Speed Queen could have handled her load, it is the count of how many times the sample goes from the top down and back that anything gets cleaned. I would be dripping water pulling a towel or two out of this load, that is why I watch and hate locking lids and stop when opened lids. An overload, maybe not a Sheena load, this passed my test of performance washing. The true question to answer next is how long the load takes to dry, compared to the other brands. Speed Queen also spins faster, from my experience, saving money where it really hurts the pocket, the dryer. In a case such as this, I will spin twice, three times, until the flow of the water draining has mostly stopped. It is cheap to spin twice, getting more soaps out as well. I am only at 5 minutes, do I speak to soon? Okay, so it can wash, for me, money conscious, I ask, "How fast does it spin?" Maytag spins slowly and the agitator slips, by design in the belt system, the clutch being the slippage of the belts and no clutch. I do not know how Speed Queen handles 'the clutch work slippage required as the motor spins full speed and the tub catches up, so I can not compare. I just noted in my experience this weakness I saw in many (all) Maytags that I did not see in Speed Queen which got up to speed faster than the clothes and water while the Maytag all was in sync.

I was worried about it but the lady assured me the problems had been fixed from years back & 3 out the 4 sales ppl there had the TR7. We don't get clothes very dirty. If we did, I'd probably have went with the TC5 since the agitator is stronger. My apartment is smaller so I wanted quiet as well lol. I was honestly kind of worried with how I perceived it to agitate & thought is it cleaning? Well my daughter gets her blanket so freaking dirty, it's bad. Might as well call it a napkin. I didn't soak or pre-treat cuz I wanted to see what it had. I kid u not after 1 wash it had that blanket freaking clean! I don't think you can go wrong with either. I actually ordered a maytag dryer at 1st since I thought it was "less important" lol. It only had a 1 year warranty so I had to buy a 3 year warranty. I got home & realized Speed Queen had a $100 rebate if you buy a matching washer & dryer. So even though Speed Queen dryer was more I didn't have to get the extra warranty & with the rebate it was $450 more for the matching dryer. I'm so glad I did that because it's a beast as well!! I don't think you can go wrong with either! I'd 100% go with the TC5 over the Maytag! I'm not a Speed Queen fan girl or whatever they call it lol. The number one piece of advice I could give any person I ever meet is to remove frustrations and make life enjoyable. Each thing in your life that creates unhappiness is unhealthy and ruins friendships and relationships. Maybe getting a SQ will solve this one issue. Shame on those bean counters and Activists in our government for enforcing equipment rules that create hard times for families from shower heads that barely get you wet, to toilets that need 2 or 3 flushes, dishwashers that may leave deadly bacteria to save a touch of water and electricity. When your home washer dies, you have to go to the coin laundry. Almost every coin laundry uses Speed Queen. The coin laundry at the corner from my house has rows of SQ machines that are nearly 35 years old, and we know what type of use and abuse these machines see. The 2019 TC5000WN (model number AWN632SP116TW01, also called "The Classic") is almost identical to the commercial models. Some reviews comment that the Maytag COMMERCIAL (and never buy one labeled "COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGY", it is not the same) appears to turn the clothes over more efficiently, but I have run a challenging load of heavy bedding (two 60x70 inch thick fleece microfiber throws) with no deficiency of turnover. Either the Speed Queen TC5000WN or the less expensive Maytag MVWP575GW will give very good washing performance. Durability is a question for the Maytag, though the Maytag does offer a longer bumper-to-bumper warranty; the SQ is designed to last 10,400 loads, or eight loads a week for 25 years. I chose the SQ, have had it for a month, not long enough for any weaknesses to show, but it does get ground-in Georgia red mud out of my work jeans, and the NORMAL ECO cycle takes less than a half-hour, add ten minutes for the extra rinse option.

His claims are true about those OLD corporate washing machines own by these construction companies, so my question is, WHAT HAPPEN!? AND I NEVER HAVE RECEIVED AN ANSWER FROM SPEED QUEEN OR FROM MAYTAG!

3:55 you will see the green tape on the softener dispenser and the white tape on the rim of the tub at the upper left. Notice that the tub is turning counter-clockwise with the dasher on the clockwise stroke. Some machines were deliberately designed to do this; on the SQ machines, it happens until the tub brake settles in. Eugene was able to overcome that action simply by holding the rim of the tub with his hand (not recommended, some risk of loss of limb in some conditions, consult your owners' manual).

Has anyone noticed different amounts of lint in the dryer filters with the TC5000 as opposed to the HE shallow-fill machines. It's not scientific, but I washed a normal mixed load of jeans, oversize bath towels, socks, underwear, and such, and when I took them out of the (same old) dryer, I found much less lint in the dryer filter than I would have expected from a similar load washed in my old LG machine. There may be many explanations, but the one that came to my mind first was that the wash action might not have abraded as much fiber from the articles as the shallow-fill machines. Another possibility is that the neutral drain arrangement in the LG deposits the floating lint on the clothes before the spin cycle, whereas the spinning drain in the SQ carries the lint out. I don't know, and again. it is not a scientific observation, but it might be worth further investigation.

  • @5610winston

    @5610winston

    5 жыл бұрын

In my experience, the HE LG machine I had would fill brim-full multiple times trying to achieve a balance, calculated at over a hundred gallons per load based on advertised capacity minus the volume of the clothes fiber. The 3.2 cubic foot SQ doesn't use that much, even set for an extra rinse. It's a good point that much of the lint would be flushed down the drain, but again, the SQ drains as it spins, and the LG drains before it spins, as the Whirlpool group machines and my low-water GE (which also filled brim-full, even on the load-sensing cycle) did. Add in that the wash cycle takes a predictable amount of time (less than a half-hour for the normal cycle) instead of relying on whatever fuzzy math the sensor washers use (usually more than two hours when the so-called "SPEED WASH" cycle was selected), and I know which is more efficient.

Speed Queen, running away. How many Alliance products (SQ, Huebsch, IPSO) do you see in coin laundries, and how many Whirlpools (including Maytags)? And do ANY of the Whirlpool/Maytag coin-op machines have that auger-type screw on the agitator? Nope. More moving parts to break. Alliance Laundry Systems is the only manufacturer to test machines to failure, and it is not unusual to see thirty-year-old SQ commercial top-loaders in daily service..

I told my daughter to go get a set and she got this series TR in Jan 2019...and it does every load on a gentle cycle as if all the clothes were delicates, no matter the settings!!!!! They have 2 kids that play hard and their clothes are filthy when they are FINISHED being washed in this hunk of junk. I have no idea what they can do except try and sell it to someone who lives alone doesn't work and just needs to get a odor out of their clothes because that is all this TR series will do. I'm so bummed. I am a Speed Queen advocate talk about them all the time (crazy I know!) but I truly think the company should do something anything to make things right for the people that bought this TR series!
