Instead, you could perhaps not buy the prettiest machine... instead buy one that are known to be reliable and never have to worry about them breaking in the first place.

Great video. Mine was completely seized. Followed this video to a T. Did not break lose until I started pouring boiling water into the center of the agitator plate. Kept pouring slowly and continuously for about 45 seconds when it popped up on its own. THANKS.

I got this washer about 2 years ago and I HATE it. Such a waste of money. Seemed good at the time however after using for 2 years it is not worth it. The water level sucks. I try to put more water using their max fill features and it doesn’t fill it up. I use more water running the cycle twice.

Bought a Maytag about like this 1 1/2 years ago It has had multiple repairs and the gearcase is now leaking grease . It’s the biggest POS I’ve ever owned

Thank you for a very “real “ informative video. I have an old kenmore large capacity top loader with agitator and it’s all metal. A tank! It’s about 25 years old and still going strong. Had a few minor repairs and the repair guys all say to keep fixing it because today’s washing machines are garbage.

I’m like LG washers! I even have a front loader from them! But I feel this washer doesn’t agitate from what I see!!! I just see the clothes hugging the tub for like the whole cycle

The ozone generator is not for stains. It works for smells really well! We had cat pee soiled clothes and I washed them in my O3 pure 3 times and the smell was gone!! No lie. Stains: you have to use spot treatment on the garment just like you do with detergents anyway. Not a thorough video.

5:34 this is what was broken on mine but it was very subtle. the little plastic part that grabs the metal plate below it was worn out (not broken). So it wasn't grabbing and was just sliding off. I was only able to tell when I compared it to a new kit as the rest of the parts looked good. all the other pieces were in working condition. This is for people coming in wanting to identify why they are replacing the whole assembly.

NEVER AGAIN working on a wash plate washer. Worthless garbage machines only massage the bottom of the clothes. And the one I was working on was SEIZED beyond any possibility of any technique working. After dousing it in WD40 overnight and hammering, prying, lifting all corners... NOTHING would budge it. Ended up just shattering it to bits with a hammer, only way to get it off, and it even held on there too. Probably just going to throw the whole washer out. Sick joke too - the one video that actually addressed disassembly of a similar model to mine, just glazed right over removing that stupid agitator. Remove screw, jump cut... lift out the wash plate! Easy as that. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. NEVER WANT TO SEE ONE OF THESE HORRIBLE MACHINES AGAIN. Not to wash my clothes, not to repair! These things are EVIL start to finish.

They are a truly amazing piece of equipment. I own one and was fortunate enough to have the original umbrella and cover for the unit. It also came with the owners manual. I can’t find any signs of it ever being used.

I don't like the Maytag commercial because the dial spins around like a spinner on a board game. I am concerned about that. So I bought a Speed Queen. They also have a five year warranty these days. As for the other things, I don't know.

A huge thank you for putting this together and so detailed. I ended up having a cracked spider frame as well. The tough part was figuring out how much to tighten the bolts holding the tub together. I had a leak the first time I used it, but luckily there is access to the bolts without removing. I also ended up using a dremel to remove the larger bearing, it came out easy. Would I tackle this again? Heck no! 😂

I got my grandparents opd place and their front load doesnt even fill up as much as that did befire you adjusted it. Gonna have to see if i can manipulate this one. I dont have any environazis to harass me me even tgough most of my water is rain water collected
