I bought the TR5 model after much research because my old WP commercial grade washer was rusting out along the top of the drum but still worked great. I noticed the new Speedqueen was almost 50 lbs heavier than my old washer. So far I love this machine! It is quiet and washes the clothes just fine. Made in the USA was a real plus for me. Had quite a time convincing my other half NOT to get a big box store China made junk.

@@707SonomaComa there are any testing showing the TC5 washes better than the TR line (TR3, TR5, TR7). Here is on example with ketchup. Consumer Reports are did tests that were disappointing but they used the worthless Normal/Eco Cycle. My parents have the old version of the TC5 and it works great and if you use the right setting I don't see any damage on cloths. I think the way to go is to get the TC5 washing machine and the DR7 dryer. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e2qJlMehnsS2kqw.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/fKdsxpprlNnRnag.html

I've watched many washer videos of different brands but Speed Queen washers grabbed my attention. I've read many commentaries from a lot of people saying that they love their SQ washers while some complained. As for me who doesn't have one (but would like to buy one in the near future) would like to experience it for myself. They look like very durable machines and adorable at that. And the fact that they are made in the USA is really great because reliability is very important. Sometimes I don't get what all the fuss is about in regards to the washer's performance from people who have one. I think for those who have one should be very grateful. At least it's better to have a washer that doesn't go through multiple rinses or spins or take hours to wash a single load of laundry. But so far I'm convinced that when I go to an appliance store I'll be sure to buy a Speed Queen washer. I don't care what year it is or the model of the washer as long as it gets the job done and my clothes clean. Simple as that.

The One; actually, the TR washers do a super job of gently cleaning laundry. Videos that show ground in grease, catsup, etc. are not representative of the type of laundry normal households do. I like my clothes to last a long time and washing them gently does that. If I lived on a farm, I would consider the TC5 over the TR

    I. appreciate the confidence the Speed Queen people have in the quality of the products they make but there is a special irony in having the sign that says "built to last 25 years" right next to the sign that says the warranty is only five years or seven years... If the confidence is there and is genuine, the warranty should be right there with it.

  • @Channel-cm7yc

Here we go. These machines have a longer warranty than a brand new house does and you pay for those typically for 30 years. How long they last depends on you the buyer of consumer goods and their environment in which they’ll be used! What you have when you buy these machines is a useable and repairable product for at least 25 years. Most appliance brands today have adopted product obsolescence and Speed Queen has not. We’ve used SQ products for over 60 years on our family and while they are tough there will come that time where it’s just and not worth the money to fix something for most folks. But you have three potential to get up to 30 to 40 years vs 5 or 10 with minimal upkeep costs and is certainly a lot cheaper than shelling out 500 or a 1,000 bucks or more every 5 or 10 years over that 30 to 40 year potential life span of a speed Queen. You can’t warranty something like this for that long and no company could and be in business! My own mother has had three SP sets since she was first married in 1968. One set was replaced due to a electric dryer being required and she wanted a matched set for her new home. The set from the late 60’s ran till the mid 90’s. The 2nd set ran under very bad water conditions and only from 1980 to 2018 and it was quite tired after all the bad water but it was still alive after 38 years. She came to live with me and she now has her 3rd set because that’s what I own and it’s a Tr series which is the 5000 models.

@@diannathornton5044 It didn't say anything to the contrary either. But now that you mention it, what kind & level of repairs will be needed within that 25 years? Will I have to replace the transmission, a major component that may cost nearly as much as a new machine? What if I need major repairs just after the 5 year warranty is up? Will the parts be exorbitantly priced? Will parts for a 12 year old machine even be available anymore?

All brand new appliances come with a warranty, as do all brand new electronics, cars and pretty much every brand new item. Warranties cover items when something unexpected happens. The Speed Queen TR3, TR5, and TR7 models are designed and built to last 25 years. The control panel, the motor, the pump, etc are all built to last decades (unlike laundry appliances sold in big box stores, which tend to last 2 - 5 years before they need a repair so expensive that you have to buy a new machine). Can you be a little more specific on what you don't understand?

pat cola; I have sold a ton of the new models and people love love love them! I would personally never go back to the agitator/transmission machine. As a service tech, I know that when a transmission fails on any washing machine, that is a really really really bad thing and if it isn’t under warranty, you have to kiss the washer goodbye. The fact that the new machines don’t have a transmission is super cool. Simplicity wins
