11:10 Learn more about vitamin K2!
Today we're going to talk about vitamin K2, and I'm going to share the best source of vitamin K2.
While vitamin K1 supports blood clotting, vitamin K2 supports calcium transportation. Vitamin K2 works with vitamin D. Vitamin K2 and vitamin D3 are important to take together.
Vitamin D raises calcium in the blood, but vitamin K2 pushes calcium from the blood into the bone. Vitamin K2 also uses LDL cholesterol as part of its transportation process.
The health benefits of vitamin K2:
• It supports healthy bones
• It supports strong teeth
• It helps prevent calcium from building up in the arteries, cartilage, and joints
• It helps support healthy blood sugar levels
• It helps generate ATP (energy)
• It supports healthy testosterone levels
• It supports the brain
Vitamin K1 and vitamin K2 are fat-soluble-low-fat diets may lead to a vitamin K2 deficiency. Cheese, especially hard cheese, is a rich source of vitamin K2, with Muenster cheese at the top of the list.
Other foods high in vitamin K2:
• Grass-fed butter
• Goose liver
• Duck liver
• Duck fat
• Eel
• Beef liver
• Lamb's liver
• Ground beef
• Grass-fed hot dogs
• High-quality bacon
• Pork
• Sauerkraut
• Cod liver oil

Just a quick thank you so much. I’m 64, fine boned, fair and Scottish ancestry. I’m up early here in Canada to start my fermenting of 6 cabbages for saurkraut. I suffer from osteoporosis, low energy and weakened muscles and sore joints. My family dr says I’m just getting old. Since watching your videos for the past month I have felt the results of cutting out the inflammatory grains from my diet. No breakfast cereal, no bread (except gluten free). I’ve been supplementing with k2 (120mg,), vit D (3,000 ui) and calcium. I’m picking up my beef marrow bones today to make bone broth. I’m determined to reverse the effects of osteo so that playing with grandchildren and simply going on a hike is once again possible for me. So far, so good! I’m sharing with other “mature” people I know so again, thank you.

When making bone broth, making sure you cook them for very long time, about 8 hours, to extract the benefit. I’ve read somewhere said that somehow bone broth doesn’t contain much calcium, not sure if that’s true though, hopefully someone could fix me if that’s wrong. I’ve been making bone broth as well, since I was able to find 100% grass fed product from a local farmer, grass and hay fed.

I'm determined to fix my gum and teeth (before getting worse) so I did a lot of readings to find cheeses with the highest amount of vit K2 which are Muenster, Gouda, Jarlsberg cheese (and some that are uncommon in the U.S.). Cheeses from raw milk have higher vit K2 than from pasteurized milk. The following cheeses have the lowest K2 (almost zero): cheddar, parmesan, blue cheese, mozzarella, brie. So if you can't afford to pay a dentist (or believe that most of them are scammers with good intentions) then you know which cheese to get for max. benefits.

Love my daily sauerkraut too. But most store-bought krauts are not fermented for long, which is key to K2. And they're pasteurized, which kills off their good probiotic bacteria. So now I'm making kraut from raw cabbage and fermenting it. There are lots of videos on that. You can get raw kraut at some stores, but it's pricey.

  • @Infiniti25

    @Infiniti25

    Жыл бұрын

You really need to buy individual constituents and combine as your research informs you, personal preference. People get some vitamins from their diet, other vitamins require supplements. Since everyone is unique in terms of food choice and rates of absorption then supplementation will be individual meaning multivitamins are too generic to be useful. Buy separate, tailor them to your needs and and know that the quality is there depending on what you decided to purchase based on your research.
