I have FINALLY discovered why my hair and scalp was SO VERY DRY and itchy, it was the HOT water, it dried my scalp out badly and all that time I stopped using grease and water method because I thought it was the problem and nope! I’ve since begun to rinse my hair in cold and my goodness THE CHANGE!!!! Glory be to God for bringing me to that realization. I do use hot to shampoo and keep my cuticles open but at the deep conditioning stage, I rinse in cold and it has CHANGED MY HAIR LIFE!

Alternatively I put the shampoo onto my scalp directly, not my hair, without water. Slap on a plastic cap for about 20 minutes and then get in the shower and wash as normal. I find this lifts the dirt and grease from my scalp soooo well, with minimal manipulation to my roots.

Right! The hot water gives the hair INSTANT moisture which softens the hair. I used cool/cold water to wash out the conditioner when I was relaxed, but NEVER use it with natural hair because it causes the hair to restrict.

I just wanted to let you know I want to change my routine and start using grease like you and I know in many of your videos you’ve stated that twists are the best hairstyle when using grease and being able to wash weekly but do you have any other hairstyle for my hair is longer but still a bit short and I would like to wear a hairstyle at school that looks nice and is easy do you have any tips or hairstyles in mind ?

The grease helps keep the hair strands from knotting because it’s a thick substance. It also contributes to longer moisture retention.

Faulty, incomplete science! This would only apply if you ONLY rinse your hair. The purpose of shampoo/ cleanser is to bind with the oil molecules so they CAN be removed with cold water! The potential damage to your hair with hot water, especially if you have high porosity hair is tremendous.

Hi! I use hot water for the entire hair wash. The water is as hot as I can stand. Cold water causes the hair to restrict which can lead to lots of tangles and knots. If your is not chemically processed, the cuticles will naturally close.
