The question is whether the doj has the ability to prosecute, not if a former president is above the law. Big difference in a minor distinction.

No president requires immunity, they need to follow and maintain lawful leadership. It’s that simple. All official acts should be lawful to start with.

The Supreme Court and Trump's attorneys are talking around what to me is a simple question, thereby confusing the issue. The test of Presidential immunity for acts committed while a sitting President should be whether those acts were committed within the scope of his/Presidential duties. I think the only people who would argue that interfering with the results of an election as well as engaging in seditious and treasonous acts would be Trump and his motley crew of shysters. If the Supreme Court does not see this, we are in big trouble!

Also, the Supreme needs to take control of this case and recast it as a question of the scope of Presidential duties, which presumably does not include aiding/abetting an insurrection to overthrow our Constitutional government.

The more power the court gives the Executive Branch....the less to their own Judicial Branch. A SEPARATION OF POWERS BETWEEN THREE BRANCHES. A President with full immunity could just eliminate the court if he wanted, or "make them disappear". The court ought to tred lightly.

Legislators can break laws as long as they are on the clock.

Trump always said if you buy the judges, that’s what help makes deals, and he was right!

Asking for community speaks volumes as far as guilt!

King died in vein. He wanted people to be judged by their character, not the color of their skin. Everything we have seen over the past 10-15 years is people being judged by the color of their skin, and boy do they get some awesome privileges.

Immunity is enshrined in the Constitution itself, though. That's not whats the immunity case is about. It's about whether Trump was acting as President or Candidate in his attempts to overturn the last presidential election, and he was the latter because the Trump campaign paid for it. In an ideal world, Trump would not be immune from prosecution. The fact that the United States is about to be destroyed by a stupid, evil and insane former reality TV show host completely baffles me.

The Supreme Court is but one branch of the government, they aren't exclusively in charge or the only rule of law; that is not their job. The other branches must censor them immediately . They purposely did not hear and are not considering the case of Trumps decisions while in office. The case is only did Trump make decisions within the law or not while in office that were lawful to the office of the Presidency for the good of the country. No he did not and neither are the majority of the court fulfilling their duties lawfully.They in fact are looking more and more like partisan hacks!

It should be over by now. Either presidents are or are not. It’s presidents don’t have immunity than the Supreme Court is the president. So just eliminate the position.

Wow this news broadcast is so miss leading in the beginning. The key phase that is being used to miss lead you is ‘above the law’ which isn’t the argument at all. Everyone should listen to the actual arguments made in the SC hearings.

How on earth can a democracy have a leader with ‘absolute immunity’? It wouldn’t be a democracy,it would be an autocracy just like Putin’s Russia, it’s as simple as that.

There is no presidential immunity in the constitution, period. Should never made it to the Supreme Court. The courts need to leave the decisions to congress as it is congress that will review and impeach a president.
