I was raised catholic and even as a child I never like the fact that I couldn't question it. At 15 I used to tell my father that I don't believe God is going to send me to hell because I didn't do my homework! I was discouraged to seek answers or what I say today the truth. If no man is perfect then how is the person that is writing the Bible without sin? I'm 42 and I came to a opinion that religion was created out of good but is being manipulated to get the outcome they want. God isn't jealous or a murderer he is not of our world because he created our world. Jesus was a messenger and we all can be gods messenger if we choose to live with light and love and continue to seek the truth.

@42bellabella i would question the heck out of what i believe because i wanna know if what i believe is true or not. what hell? there are many people who wrote the bible not just one person and no they are not without sin. only one person is without sin and he is jesus Christ who is the son of God. good luck trying to live right in your own power because it will not happen. but you should seek the truth to be set free from the lies good luck and have a good day

@@truthseekers1620I left Christianity, and Jesus being lord and Saviour. I have many reasons why and have all the verses to back them up, it's in my PowerPoint. Jesus was not a God nor was he the son of God, he was a man who achieved enlightenment and overcame darkness and dark feelings, like anger, hatred, fear, anxiety, guilt, shame, depression etc. Just like the Buddha, Buddha sat under a tree and fasted for 49 days while also meditating. Through that, he achieved enlightenment, Jesus fasted for 40 days, and Buddha’s sitting under Tree was Jesus wander through the desert. They both over came these dark feelings and primal emotions. And never confuse religion with the bible. Many...not all.... who have never studied it in depth sometimes are quick to put it down. People try to destroy it or like the churches keep it hidden. It survived it all. Study it. It answers basic questions we all ask. What happens when we die? Where are the dead? Will sickness ever end. Who rules this world? Why is there so much wickedness? Why is there so much suffering? You may not accept its answers. It gives us the choice...but its satisfying and worthwhile

@@adriaandoelman2577 the word god means ultimate good. A synonym for ultimate good is ideal. It has been tradition to teach morals through morals. Ideals through story. To follow god means to follow the ideal each god teaches. You know like truth justice and the American way. Or use the force Luke. I cannot say whether god exists or not. But the Bible is undeniably a book. A book with contrasting ideals. The two primary biblical ideals are conditional love versus unconditional love. I believe the intention is for the reader to follow God through the changes of conditional love to unconditional love. Number one we are born with the instinct to love on a conditional basis. It’s consistent with the natural world. Then the god of the Bible asked for the reader to love as he has loved. Essentially asking the reader to love unconditionally. The Greek gods were used to explain the phenomenons of the oceans and phenomena of skies. Until science has come along and explained that hurricanes aren’t the will of some divine being. This was the science sponsored by churches. The sciences have yet to explain away the God that explains love and unconditional love. The fact that government has hijacked the sciences, in the recent past, is proof to me they never will.

I’m hearing more and more of this “I’m spiritual”. What I hear is that you’re in tune with what you really are, a spirit that lives in a body and you have a soul but how about the one who made you. We must remember it’s always the creator that gives the creation it’s purpose so it important to ask the question who is my creator that I might know Him and even understand myself better. This leads you to understand it’s not religion it’s relationship, just get to know this person you’re in a relationship with, pray and ask God your creator to reveal Himself to you and you’ll be surprised that the answer most likely has already been presented before. “He’s the way the truth and the life”. It’s Jesus just get to know Him no matter your background just get to know Him and see how your life changes.

@@HighHell99 These emerge from norms in society and our need to be part of a group to function and live as human beings. We could say the moral truth comes from some intrinsic source, be it Religion or a God. However, even if a child were to just observe their parents and surroundings, they too would adopt whatever habits and norms they perceive as good and true. After all, parents are the first teacher of children and children tend to mimic their parents. It is only when a child sees written words or the words echoed by parent or other influential adult who applies a label to describe concepts related to goodness, fairness, honesty, truth, morality; only then do they also associate such to a prescribed Religion or deity. Children rarely choose their faith... their faith comes naturally to them because of what they grew in to and it is only when they are adults that they either continue to follow their Religion or adapt their beliefs to something else that calls to them. Just as Alan Watts said in this monologue. If you were born into a Hindu family, you would adopt the Hindu faith, the same is true for Shintoism, Buddhism, Islam, and the Catholic faith. Once you grow older... your world view widens and you are exposed to other viewpoints and ways of thinking.

Let me share this thought, it might be interesting to you :) I always wonder what people have to say about 3000 fulfilled prophecies in the Bible? Is that not proof for the Bible to be reliable? The Qumran scrolls prove that it wasn't changed as the texts were copied over the centuries because the Qumran Texts (which are up to 2200 years old) are exactly identical to the texts we have today). As an example for prophecy, take Daniel chapter 9. Daniel prophecies that the awaited messiah will come as prince in 483 years, starting from the moment it is commanded to restore and build Jerusalem after its destruction by Nebukanezar (it was destroyed at the time this prophecy was written). That command came from king artasasta in the year 451 bC. Hence, the messiah must've come in the year 32 aD. It is historically proven that Jesus died between 30-33 AD. His coming as prince was when he came into Jerusalem five davs before his crucifixion. Daniel gave us the exact year of the coming of the messiah, 483 three years prior. Or take Isaiah 44:28-45:1. Isaiah prophecies that king Cyrus (calling him by name!), who wasn’t alive yet at that time, would one day rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, which, at that time, wasn't even destroyed yet. was around 700 BC. 586 the temple was destroyed by nebukadnezar. Then, shortly after Jerusalem was conquered by the Persians in 539 BC, king Cyrus rebuilt the temple in Jerusalem. Now these are just two, know, but the list goes on. It's a topic worth diving into! Is that not proof that the Bible has something divine to it? It's proven to be, and the Qumran scrolls prove that it wasn't changed. And there's 3000 of those prophecies! If we calculate the chance of then fulfilling by Chance, with a chance of 1:2 for each (which is of course unrealistically probable), we still get an impossible number. The Bible is Gods word, and only the Bible is God’s word, as it says. There's no way around it. And you have an obligation to do what it says and receive the life you were made for, eternal life, by repenting of your sins and turning to Christ, making him lord over your life and living for him and by his will. Anything else leads to hell. May the Lord bless you by leading you to obedience of him, because he'll give you all that's good and all you need if you live for him. Know that he promised he’ll work all for your good if you live for him. That’s the greatest news you can receive! Because he loves you. And he wants to save you. You just have to let him, as I said. As he said. So study his word to get to know his thoughts, his will, his way. Any other way you’ll go astray.

Its not like Islam or Muslim God where if you don't accept it, they want to kill you here in this earth. Huge difference. Here, in the Christian view, if you reject it, you can walk away without an issue. We have no problem with someone rejecting it once they have heard the word. For God's sheep hear his voice. If it doesn't ring true to you, then that's your decision.

The most intriguing distinction between theists & atheists regards the "birth" of consciousness, technology, empathy & cognition versus EVERYTHING excluded. There are humans born brain-dead, that have the same consciousness as EVERY species on Earth aside from humans born otherwise. There are humans that have technological cognition unlike EVERY species on earth aside from other humans. There are humans that act on empathy, over survival (such a serial killers, prophets, mathematicians, or even atheists that have been handed terrible lives & yet continue to do "good" without "reason") unlike EVERY species on Earth aside from other humans. At the end of the day, "something" seperates humanity from EVERY species to EVER walk this earth. (Whether individually or as masses) No species, regardless of brain size (like ants, apes, whales, etc....) have EVER had the "ability" to experience divine nature aside from humanity. It's not to say it's "God's" doing just as it's not to claim it's "extraterrestrials" doings.... However, "SOMETHING" separates humanity from EVERY entity to EVER exist & we STILL cannot explain it to one another OR to ANY species outside our own. There seems to be definitive "proof" that humanity will NEVER "uplift" a species to commit these so-called "divine experiences" allowing them to bare prophecies unto their own kind. (Like a chimpanzee becoming the Messiah of their own species, akin to Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, etc.....) It begs the question; WHAT "flipped the switch" inside the "mind" of these "humans" to regard "prophecy" outside of nature's will ? Also; WHY can it NOT be perceivable in ANY species aside from our own ?

Justice is blind and feelings don't matter your actions do. Catholicism is the only faith that's correct like it or not. Yes God is loving but God is also just and we must answer for everything we do in this life good or bad in the end. I would recommend you have a deeper dive into your original faith and decide for yourself instead of allowing the actions of others to draw you away from the faith. Pretty words from people with no more knowledge of the faith than you or I are just that, pretty words with no basis. Work out your own faith with fear and trembling.

I got chills listening to this, this took me back to being around 4 or 5 years old sitting in the kingdom hall during meetings feeling this spacious deep calm feeling within me, wondering if I was the only one who felt it. I wasn't like my sister who ate it all up, she loved all the meetings and door to door. I on the other hand dreaded it all, and sometimes I couldn't hide it and it made my parents upset lol. And there will be a time when Jehovah Witnesses won't accept Bible Studies and it's coming very soon. When we're not knocking on doors, out in the streets, phone or zoom. The silence will kill people. And then they will have to know. We have the Truth. For it is written: And he did not refrain from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a flood upon a world of ungodly people. 6 And by reducing the cities of Sodʹom and Go·morʹrah to ashes, he condemned them, setting a pattern for ungodly people of things to come. 7 And he rescued righteous Lot, who was greatly distressed by the brazen conduct of the lawless people-(2 Peter 2:5-7)

This is where Satan has done so much damage, Christ speaks to the individuals heart through His word, because He is the Word, without the witness of the Holy Spirit you were just reading "a book" but never taking it's meaning into your heart. I hear many on here complaining about religion and rightfully so, being born again of the Spirit was referred to as the way, not a way, religion can only get in your way and become a stumbling block much like it was/is to Jews and foolishness to the rest of the world. I personally left Catholicism as a pre teen having already encountered the hypocrisy and spiritual emptyness of that religion only in my mind 20's after coming to the end of myself and with no answers in sight did I cry out to Christ to save me. I truly wish I had all the answers, but at least now I have access to He who has/is the answer. Looking forward to an eternity of learning and serving He who loves me and never gave up on me even at my worst. Signed: not a religious person, just a believer!

But God is unmesurably mercyfull and Loving , that is why He made a plan to free us from death and slavary to sin and to take us to His devine presence , giving us Eternal LIFE and HE Himself is The Life . That plan is JESUS CHRIST ((( Jesus means God saves , and was perfect Name for The Messiah , Which God presented for the dieing world ))) The Messiah was not concieved as everybody else , so was and lived sinless life ,fufilling God's expectations for a Perfect Man , He was not slave to sin as a human and also was GOD in the flesh ,lived as man . The Son of GOD THE FATHER as perfectly rightious was the only cappable to be the recluired sacrufice and the one ,Who should have taken the judjement we all deserved :the second death ,the dieing of the soul in hell, because of separation from GOD ((( and still will if we reject GOD's offer of salvation through HIS Son's dead on the cross ))) But HE defeated sin and dead , because He IS God and is ONE with THE FATHER and THE CREATOR , that is why JESUS The Messiah ressurected giving HOPE for those that awaits HIM ,that even after our bodies die and we are gone from the phissical reality of life, ONE day at JESUS's second coming (((this time forever to RULE the world which GOD created ))) will be ressurected to live with HIM and GOD for eternity .Amen

yes the Bible says that Gods glory comes on the just and the unjust. The scriptures of the Bible have not changed from the days of the Dead Sea scrolls to now. I promise you more scrolls will be found with no change to the message yes words might change but not the message. Adam and Eve sinned before having any kids had a child was born from them before their sin that child would've been born sinless but we are born in sin and even without Adam and Eve we sin and once we sin comes death then the Judgement. The only perfect man was Christ for he was also God in the flesh. He give his life to pay for our sins as a gift not something we must work for but we identify that we need his gift of salvation. @@Ggg-um7jy

Having faith is better than the destruction of nihilism. Before you dwell and pick on the succulent fruits of your intellect, observe the beauty of life around you as well as the subjugation of the whole universe and the things in it that had been to our benefit and service. Out of all the possibilities, the universe chose to explode, then exist, then expand with us being apple to grab even satisfactory amounts of it's service. Us, life, that has two pairs of each of everything, as per it's beauty. Observe the creation of the camel, then the sea, then the mountains, then the earth, then the whole topic of human dignity and the fraternity of man itself. There is a meaning in all of this.

You don’t need to be smart you need to think critically and with logic and reasoning. You simply need to consider a few points, humanity and humans need reassurance, they need to believe that there is a reason to death. Add to that for millennia humanity had no understanding of death, no understanding of science, no understanding how weather works, how even the sun shines, or it’s place in the universe, and humans had zero comprehension of how big that universe is. For this the simple way to handle this was to think a man in the sky made it all. Unfortunately humans also use lack of knowledge to leverage as power, to control others through fear! These are exactly the reasons religions took hold. These myths and fears are then Passed by parents to their children to keep the faith going. In the 21st century it’s would be inconceivable with humanity’s knowledge to think there somehow a man in the sky creating and doing these things, or that he had some special interest in some life form in a infinitesimal planet in a galaxy with 1000 billion other planets, in a galaxy with trillions of others, just think of the probability that some ancient people in tents were right about the man in the sky…

I highly doubt it. In a nutshell, what Alan Watts is saying here is quite simply that ANY argument for or against the belief in or authenticity of Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, or any other Religion, is purely a "He Said/She Said" affair. No God or Diety has EVER physically spoken directly to ANY of us. Nor have we seen or physically heard any supposed "all-knowing & all-powerful" God claim HIS OWN WORD as the TRUTH. It has ALWAYS been relayed, interpreted, mis-interpreted, and DISTORTED by and through some worldly "man", not DIRECTLY from "GOD". WHY?... ...again, WHY, would a supposed all-knowing and all-powerful God NEED and Rely On his imperfect creation of man to "tell the story" and teach us his own "word" and "laws for living in HIS World"??? Does GOD not have his OWN VOICE? So, in heaven, "the streets are paved with gold." I'll ask you and everyone else: WHY would we have a need for STREETS in heaven??? And, WHAT VALUE or true USEFULNESS would GOLD be to any of us in heaven??? ^THOSE words are scribed by the simple desires, ambitions, and persuasions of WORLDLY MEN as propaganda to make mankind desire and long for entry into this "extraordinary" place with everlasting life and lots of unnecessary and useless worldly "Bling." To me...I rather envision a hip-hop rapper singing, "YO, come on over to my hood, brotha'! My fk'n streets are paved with GOLD, just like my grille, m0thafvkr!", rather than by the words and persuasion of the GOD of all heaven and earth. :P If you read the original Hebrew texts of the Bible, and then actually take off your blinders and give due dillegence and invest the time to read and study more ancient texts and their culture's ideologies, deities, and myths, you will clearly see the complete "rehashing" and the blatant reinterpretations and distortions in the modern Bible of those much, much older beliefs, myths, rituals, cultures, and ideologies! IOW, there is EXTREMELY LITTLE that is actually Unique, Completely Original, or Innovative in "The Bible." The vast majority of it is just much older re-used/re-worked myths, traditions, and ideologies from previous cultures and deity worshiping. This even includes older 3 days/3 nights "resurrection" myths (i.e. B'al of Urgarit..in the late Bronze Age in Syria). Another example, what we consider the "original" 10 Commandments in HEBREW are basically identical word for word and attributed to a much older and completely separate diety worship and religion than Judaism. They were simply "borrowed" and integrated into modern Judaism... And this is important because modern Christians base their strong belief in Christianity and The Bible as being the "correct" or "true" religion as oppossed to other religions on the *impression* or rather, illusion, of it being so incredibly UNIQUE compared to all other religions, texts, myths, and traditions, when in fact, The Bible is anything BUT Unique or Original, and is just a regurgitation of far older ideologies, texts,.and myths. If you are open to reading ANY book OTHER than the Bible, I challenge you to read "GOD, An Anatomy" by Francesca Stavrakopoulou, PhD. It is available as a traditional hardcover or paperback book, or Audible, or electronic/PDF/Kindle on Amazon. Or enter the following text string into the KZread Search bar: dMQciYeDHU0 It will take you to an enlightening KZread Interview by Derek of *MythVision Podcast* with Dr. Francesca Stavrakopoulou.

This video is my first encounter with this guy and thought it was overly flowery and verbose. This is not to say he is wrong but a more simple and direct way to put in is: Religion is a pernicious SCAM that preys upon the weaknesses, fears and gullibility of people. All religous holy books are just a bunch of unproven claims. If someone, as with most people, are raised in a religion then Alan Watts is a good way to ease people out of the cult they are in. I was not raise to believe or not believe. I was given the opportunity by my parents to make my own decisions on religion and god. There never was any thing there for believe in such things. As I started hearing about how others believed I quickly learned that religion is divisive, hateful and exists for it own sake. The core for religious existences is wealth and power. It will lie, cheat, steal and kill to get what it wants.

Yet, the Bible teaches the truth if you are able to Discern it, but sadly, almost nobody is able to do so!! The Supreme illusion of the World Mind is that it accepts mortality/form as reality. Through Conscious Realization We must Establish Our Oneness with God....! Christ/Truth is born in us when we come to the virginal conscious realization that Spirit(Divine Consciousness)is the Only Presence. It is an unadulterated, unsullied moment of Illumination. It is an immaculate conception of the rare, but highly receptive, intuitive readiness for the Absolute Truth. It is an unblemished, impeccable Mystical insight into our True Spiritual Nature. The Birth of Our Spiritual State of Being as the Activity of Truth in Our Consciousness.....! Christ teaches from a different level that the human intellect is not prepared to receive!! Truth was saying through Jesus what all Illumined beings said before and after him, which is: Realize your own Divine Immortal Nature within and it will lead you out of the Veiled Dream of Time and Space. Out of the Karmic Cycle of Birth and Death. Follow me, I, the Reality of your being across the Mystical Ocean of Time where you don't walk in the world of matter, form, physicality, iniquity, mortality..... The Truth(aka Christ, just a name used to identify a State of Consciousness) we are walks in the Kingdom of Heaven right here, where no mortal being or carnal mind can reach it!! The Christ we are is Untouchable, and only sees that which is the Kingdom of Spirit/God!! All Illumined Beings Rest in this Principle: Abstain from the Temptation to believe that which is finite/material is of Consciousness/Spirit/God. If it's happening in Time and Space it can not be taking place(therefore, not a reality). Both the religious and atheistic world interpret this Mystic teaching through the same illusory sense known as human intellect, and this is what the Mystical Manuscript points out to those that are able to Discern it. Religion is born of ignorance, and atheism is born of religion, so what we have here are two sides of the same coin of nothingness. Both turn away from Oneness, from Omnipresence, from Spirit, from God! We must abandon the illusion/nothingness of the personal, physical self, and accept the Perfect Spiritual Body of the Kingdom of Spirit as the Only Reality. When this happens there is no longer anything to fight, to correct, pray to, pray for, or to run to or from!! "My Kingdom is not of this Material World" My Kingdom is the One and Only Spiritual Kingdom! The Kingdom of Heaven Within! The bible(and every other ancient Mystical Manuscript) has been hijacked by the carnal minds/human minds ignorance of the belief in a life separate and apart from Omnipresence(God....Oneness), yet, if Spiritually Discerned as it's meant to be, shows us how to walk out of the appearance of matter, out of the shadow of the Acceptance of birth and death(Atheism), and into the Immortal State of Our Being that is Spirit/Immortality/Incorporeality/Consciousness As the Only Presence. The Bible reveals the Unreality of the Material Dream of the Mind, and the Reality of Spirit/God as the Only Presence. The Truth and Untruth are placed next to each other in the Bible to show us Immortal Spirit as Reality, and the Mental Distortion we call Finite Form that we Entertain as Reality.... What we believe we are experiencing as a mortal being is actually the Binding/Imprisoning of Spiritual Immortality as the Truth of the Activity of Our Consciousness into a Mortal and Material Sense of Awareneness. The message of the bible(and all true Spiritual teachings) is not for the timid, it is for those who are willing to walk the Earth in Proportion to their Receptivity of Spiritual Immortality as Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Shankara, and many others have(THE STRAIT GATE)! Through the Realization and Acceptance of Spirit as the Only Presence Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, and many others became Interpreters and Demonstrators(as you will ultimately be)for the language of the Realization of Spirit/God as the Only Presence. Thereby Demonstrating the Unreality of the Material World, Human Mind, and the 5 Senses. Everything of the Senses is Perishable because it is not of Spirit, and therefore, not a Reality. Everything of Spirit is Imperishable, and your Divine Infinite Being, that which Jesus called The Father Within, the Buddha called the Buddha Mind, and Lao Tzu called the Tao, is Immortal, Omnipresent Spirit. Where everything appears to be, only Spirit/God is.... The Cornerstone of the Christ(God/Spiritual Consciousness Realized)Teaching is that Spirit/God is the Only Presence, not to worship Jesus the illusory form that is nothing and can do nothing of itself....(with Spirit being the only Presence, to worship anything of an illusory material nature, such as a human form, is to worship a graven image, as all matter is a graven image). GOD/SPIRIT IS OMNIPRESENT! (God/Spirit is the Only Presence) Therefore, to Be Reborn is to Overcome the Belief of a Human Birth, and Accept Spirit as the Only Presence! What is not of Spirit is not a reality. Every Temptation of this World is Meaningless when you know the Truth of Your Immortal Christ/God/Spiritual Being!! The Matter/Error/Evil is not there, ONLY THE TEMPTATION TO ACCEPT IT AS REALITY IS!! The Bible is a Mystical Manuscript written for the Development of Spiritual Discernment by those of a Mystical/Spiritual Consciousness, and written in such a way that if it were to make it's way outside of the Mystery Schools it couldn't be Spiritually Discerned by man with breath in his nostrils, and would instead be misinterpreted, and this choice has worked Perfectly, as the World Mind Illusion worships it as a religious document! No religion has found God, ever!! Only the Mystic has Realized God/Immortality because the Mystic knows where not to look! Religion, Philosophy, and Science seek God/Spirit in the Material World of Illusion through the faculty responsible for it, the human mind, hoping for a glimpse of Truth/God where no Truth/God of any kind Exists. The Mystic(of my Household, aka my Consciousness)knows God is the Realization of Infinite, Incorporeal Omnipresence(Spirit) that is the True Essence of Being. The Mystic Discerns the Reality of Spirit through the Unreality of Matter. The Mystic knows Our True and Only State of Being is Incorporeal, Infinite, and Omnipresent. The Mystic sees only the Spirit of Immortality through the Sense of Form/Matter of all beings. The Mystic knows that if it is happening in Time and Space it is Not Taking Place. The Mystic allows Infinite Perfection to be his Thought through Conscious Awareness of Spirit as the Only Presence!! Therefore, the Mystic reaches not for God or Truth, the Mystic Rests in the Realization of it!! This releases him from the reliance upon that which is ERRONEOUS, the 5 Senses!! We don't Transcend, We Realize!! The Mystic allows Infinite Perfection to be his Thought through Conscious Awareness of Spirit as the Only Presence!! The Mystic doesn't accept Love as a Sensual Emotion. The Mystic Knows Love is a State of Spiritual Integrity! The Mystic belongs to no religion, no human belief structure, and never to the mortal world of man with breath in his nostrils. The Mystic Says: I am not in this world to acquire or achieve anything: I am here as an instrument of God/Spirit to bear witness to Spirit/God's presence. I have appeared for one reason, that God/Spirit, through me, may be made manifest on Earth. I have appeared for the Glory of God/Spirit, not for my personal glory, not for my personal reputation or my personal wealth, but appear that Spirit/God might be Glorified as His Love shown forth through me! Prace Be Unto You!!

@@Allergic2broke, I was attending arts school here in Portland Oregon in 1973 near our home where I grew up. The local FM Radio Rock station, KGON 92 mghz, would play these recordings by Alan Watts; I believe it was shortly after he died that year. So I listened to these recordings regularly on weekends, while I was working on my artwork in our parents home in my bedroom. It was just really comforting and enjoyable to listen to him speak late at night on weekends, while producing my artwork. I was between the age of 18 and 19, then, 40 years ago. So when I rediscovered all of these lectures by Alan Watts being replayed now through KZread across the internet, in the recent past years, I was of course just delighted. There's nothing like taking a drive from our home of Portland Oregon and heading Westward toward the Oregon Coast, say on a weekend and a local public radio station, say, from the west coast city of Astoria Oregon is playing one of these lectures by Alan Watts as you head toward the Oregon Coastline on a beautiful weekend, as I venture there quite often, photographs of Milky Way standing up high over the famous Haystack Rock of Cannon Beach. Astoria Oregon radio station will start to fade in on the automobile radio dial as I'm driving. I feel like I'm back in 1973 at the age of 19 attending art college again, when I hear Alan Watts voice. I also find this particular recording above here as quite interesting because we grew up with parents that were German Catholics, on both sides of the family. I was already making artwork by the second grade that was getting noticed by teachers and fellow classmates. By age 13 1/2, I bought my first astronomy telescope with my berry picking earnings from Summer work. [There's a work ethic I've ever heard one.] After observing through the telescope out in the large half acre yard of our parents second home, in 1967, through this modest optical instrument, I could easily visibly locate certain nebulous objects, such as the Andromeda Galaxy, the Ring Nebula, and M13 the Globular Star Cluster, but the big Revelation was seeing the planet Saturn and its Rings. Even through this modest and inexpensive telescope, that cost $79.95 at a local hobby shop where I purchased it about a mile from our home, I allowed my friends to see these celestial objects, through my first telescope, I watched the effect of this had on my classmates and other neighbors; I eventually told our father one Sunday morning that I was not going to attend Catholic Church any longer. I believe I had already used the telescope to attach our parents Kodak Box camera to the top and manually tracked in the eyepiece one of Orion's Belt Stars for 5 minutes of a time exposure onto the high-speed film loaded in the camera. I've kept that negative for years but misplaced it recently, so I recreated it with modern digital photography and myself and brother and sister in the front yard in the background, buy blending all this together with composites from old friends with careful use of Photoshop. I displayed this image into my Facebook Albums for many years now along with my other awarded photography and artwork published in NASA and other large astronomy venues and websites. Little did I know that one day after working nearly 30 years in the high-tech computer industry of data storage technology, I kept my astronomy hobby going all these years. When the modern world of computer technology suffered a recession in the year 2000, I risked the loss of that job, but I'd already been invited to lecturing about my night sweat photography and eventually my astronomy artwork that was soon published in NASA websites. This was in the local College, right up the street from the home I designed and built for my wife and daughter and I in 1988 at the age of 33 then, in the Eastern Portland suburban town of Troutdale. This is the same College I attended in 1973 I didn't have any idea that one day I would design and build a modern Frank Lloyd Wright-like architectured home just a few minutes drive from that College. Within a few years after these lectures, I was hired to teach astronomy in another local University, and although it was a religious affiliated Lutheran College I just took it for the job opening, the University advertised the local newspaper classified ad, not for any particular religious affiliation. The Dean of Theology and Science interviewed me and hired me to teach as the new adjunct professor of Astronomy that term in the Autumn of 2004, even though he knew I did not have a college degree. I showed him my resume and portfolio of traveling the nation, on a 10,000 mile solo road trip in 2000, with a large solar research grade telescope, requested and borrowed from my local astronomy club, the year before, and allowing thousands of people to observe the sun safely through this instrument. I also just returned from the Fiji Islands where my second wife was from, as a Hindu. I had to travel to Fiji from our home in Portland because they had deported her back to her home country, due to the fact that she was an illegal alien in the US. I'm rambling here now covering a lot of information, but I can relate so much to what Alan Watts talks about here in the opening moments or minutes above in this lecture; because it involves understanding some of the Hindu philosophies and religion and the Sanskrit language, from India, which I learned since I was with my Hindu wife for about 3 years. Most Americans probably don't relate to this part of the lecture above but I can tell you it's quite interesting when you're immersed into the culture and travel overseas to see the people living within this Eastern World culture of Hinduism. I also suddenly related to The Beatles and George Harrison taking the group to India back in 1968. Also during this time in the early 2000s when I first met my Hindu wife I was beginning to act on Hollywood movie sets as a background extra actor. This was partly due to others in the nation hearing my voice on National Public Radio's Talk of the Nation, which I held a record of calling into, in Washington DC while millions of Americans were listening live. [All these varied discussions are archived at NPR for review to easily listen to. The first time I called in and got through the lines was on March 14th 2005 just days after our mother passed away. They were having a discussion about the Andy Warhol line 15 minutes of fame. I usually called and got a busy signal but this time they answered in the young lady screener, asked if I was calling from another radio station, apparently my morning voice is identical to the morning NPR announcers, and others suggested that I should look into doing voiceover work. When I listed with agencies for voice-over they were also casting for actors, so instead, they sent me to movie sets for the past 20 years. Until a few years ago so I haven't been doing this lately. So I've covered a lot of ground in life, teaching and lecturing in the local University's, acting on many varied movie sets, my technical astronomy artwork made from observations through the telescopes is featured in NASA websites for nearly 20 years. Designing and building our own home in one of the most popularly moved to cities in America, as of lately. Since 1999 with that first solar telescope I borrowed from our club and traveled across the nation and then overseas to the Fiji islands I've been constantly providing a Community Outreach Public Service of Sidewalk Astronomy, and still today, at age 69 now, I'm quite active in providing this for the public and students. I feel that I learned some of my attitude and great outlook in life, from listening to these Alan Watts lectures on local radio simulcast from San Francisco 40 years ago. It's been great to have immersed myself within the philosophies of Alan Watts, that have carried me through the greater part of my latter life, with my interests in Art and Science and for the public and students benefits.

Religion is an pernicious SCAM that preys upon the weaknesses, fears and gullibilities of people. There has never been anything positive out of religion that only religion can provide. Yet there has been countless bad that comes from religion. A young man was standing next to his broken down car on side of the road just blocks away from a church, it was Sunday morning. Church parishioners drove by in haste to not be late for services while the young man waited, wishing for someone who would stop to help. The young man started to walk and finally arrived at his destination which was that church. He realized early during the service that a church was nothing more than a social gathering and assumed that true acts of kindness, compassion and sacrifice wasn’t ever mentioned in “their” Bible but instead only acts of selfishness, greed and buying their way to heaven. You see, the young man was somewhat lost in life and was looking towards religion for guidance. But his first encounter was such a disappointment so he walked back to his car where an old black gentleman was waiting on his bicycle. The old man knew exactly what was wrong with the car and assisted in getting it started. The old man refused any offerings of payment and rode away. In that instant the young man knew exactly where he was in life and where life was headed which is to honor that old man by living a life of kindness, hard work, loving Jesus and thanking God everyday. That day an old black man was his preacher and his sermon wasn’t of words but action. The young man learned that actions speak louder than words and have greater meaning.

Our creator said in Quran: "Did you think We had created you in vain (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?’ (Quran 23:115) "Exalted is He (God) who holds all control in His hands; who has power over all things; ˹He is the One˺ Who created life and death in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And He is the Almighty, All-Forgiving. who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You will not see any flaw in what the Lord of Mercy creates. Look again! Can you see any flaw?" (Quran 67:1-3 ) "Do man think he will be left without purpose? Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)? Then he was a clinging clot, and [ God ] created [his form] and proportioned [him] producing from it both sexes, male and female. Is such ˹a Creator˺ unable to bring the dead back to life?" "Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion" (Quran 3:185) "We shall certainly test you with fear and hunger, and loss of property, lives, and crops. But [Prophet], give good news to those who are steadfast. those who say, when afflicted with a calamity, ‘We belong to God and to Him we shall return.’ (Quran 2:155-156) "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding. those who remember God while standing and sitting and on their sides, and reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth: “Our Lord, You did not create this in vain. Highly Exalted are You, so protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (Quran 3:190-191) "Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of God . Verily in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest!" "O humanity! Indeed, God’s promise is true. So do not let the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver(Satan) deceive you about God. Surely Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his followers to become inmates of the Blaze." (Quran 35:5-6) "Their messengers answered, ‘Can there be any doubt about God, the Creator of the heavens and earth? He calls you to Him in order to forgive you your sins and let you enjoy your life until the appointed hour.’ But they said, ‘You are only men like us. You want to turn us away from what our forefathers used to worship. Bring us clear proof then, [if you can].’ (Quran 14:10) Prophet Muhammad said (pbuh): “When God loves one of His slaves, He tests him to hear his supplication.”

The first lesson I learned in my religious studies in University was this: When scripture was transcribed BY the scribes, what we got, in the end, was based on the judgment and craft of said scribes. If they did not like, nor understood words or phrases, they either improvised or wrote what they thought should be written. And then layer, with ALL of the scribes who worked on crafting and transcribing scripture, over centuries, and we get what many men thought the words should be, and are not necessarily what they received to begin with. So is scripture the REAL scripture? And when the books of the BIBLE were codified, the church CHOSE which books to include and which to be left out or better yet, DESTROYED, because they believed that they were heretical and therefore, would never see the light of day, that to this day, languish in the bowels of the Vatican Archives. (Those books that survived the destruction purge) The church gave us what THEY believed we should get, based on the judgment of those church leaders centuries ago. The church engineered Holy Text, to suit the tastes of the leaders of that time, that spoke to their vanities and reputations as leaders of the faith. We will never know what was left out or destroyed, because there are many texts that were never considered to be canon.

In Sanatan, even Vedas, upanishad have always encouraged to ask questions rather than follwing a path defined by someone else. Hence in Sanatan you can define your own path to seek god, it is a culture of creating god. If you can find god in a sound (or in any form) you can follow that sound to get liberated. Liberation or Moksha (being one with the god) is the ultimate that every human should seek for. I beleive everyone has a birth right to ask questions, that's the reason the nature has given us a logical mind. I think the days are over of selling religion by greed of granting a place in heaven or by fear (hell, punishments etc). I see in coming decades many man made religions will disapper, as people have access to information/knowledge in their finger tip they will start questioning more and more.

First step: ban all religions, except on just one tiny wee condition- -that anyone anywhere anytime is free to voice his/her own thoughts without fear. Don't follow religion, follow Yehoshua - He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - People cling to religions and their church. There will be a time when humanity will grow cold, so cold that they will believe they are god themselves. During these times the world will become colder due to such believe and in that mere instance we will know truth. God's name is something that we pronounce every time we take a breath - YHWH so even Aethist, agnostics and every other religion under the son are bound to pronounce his name for every breath we take is yhhhwhhh. Know that is not your own doing like this video claims for it was, you would be able to not take a breath and continue without one.
