Supercharger Install Ep. 5.5 - Avoid These HUGE Mistakes When Upgrading Your Fuel System
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I recently upgraded the fuel system in my Nissan 370Z in preparation for installing a supercharger in the coming days. After testing out the new fuel injectors, fuel pump, and fuel return system, I ran into an issue with degraded wiring and fuel over-pressurization due to an integrated check valve in the return system.
In this video, I demonstrated how to debug issues with an upgraded fuel system. After this, I will be installing the Top Guns ACE Air to Air Supercharger Kit on my 370Z, doing a complete step-by-step DIY.
It is hugely important to use the correct wire for the job. Copper clad aluminum (CCA) is a terrible conductor compared to solid copper (OFC). This can result in failed wiring due to overheating.
It is also important to understand that fuel pressure within the fuel lines leading to the injectors will rise when the engine is turned off. If a check valve is integrated in the fuel line, it can prevent fuel pressure from bleeding off and can result in over pressurization of the fuel lines.

As always... thank you for sharing not only your success, but the setbacks as well. Learning about the fuel system and formulating how I want to upgrade mine.
I had fuel issues with my turbo build as well. Took some time to figure out. I have a duel pump system and one pump (brand new) would bleed off pressure during startup and the car would crank forever before starting. The issue only happened about 50% of the time. This made it hard to pinpoint. Once the pump was replaced everything starts great. These issues can be hard to find sometimes.
I'm glad you made this series. I thought I could drop in a supercharger to a stock engine and it would just work.

Update. Wrecked my Z. Its totalled.....Gonna go hang myself.
Sick build thanks for all your tutorials it’s helped me on my 370z
Stop swaying so much man! haha
Wasn't expecting the wire type
Damn that dual pump system really beat you down to the fundamentals. A couple friends and I just finished the same kit with flex fuel kit on his G37 minus the cjm basket and in cabin guages. Took us 4&1/2 days to start up, dyno tuned on day 6. Your gonna definitely hit over 600whp on e85 with your setup. Can't wait for the next video when we get your opinion.
my 5 year old ass immediately looked at those injectors wrong.
So I'm wondering if I should do the same thing you've done. OR do the CJM drop in dual pump + their full SE level fuel system. OR just get AAM's dual drop in pump and fuel system. Is there any reason you went for the radium? Over the other arguably simpler setups?
Would having a fuel return line like the one from CJM avoid the issue with the high fuel pressure?

Yes, in fact it would negate the reason for having a check valve since the fuel pressure regulator would be after the check valve anyway. (With it bring in the engine bay if I recall correctly.)
just a quick random question, did you run into any issues regarding the airbag light in the dashboard after installing the new entertainment system?

No I did not. 🤔
