Fantastic! Had an appendectomy 6 weeks ago and need to get back to moving. The progressions are great for a 70 year old who lost a lot of muscle mass in the last 6 weeks. I will be using this a lot inn the next few weeks. Thank you so much!

That was great, Melissa. I didn’t even know I wanted this kind of workout! I’ve been reluctant to get back into weight training since my prolapse repair . . . failed? ripped out? Anyway this really met a need for me and your coaching is so helpful! If I’d met you first I would never have had surgery. I would have been able to manage my prolapse. Thank you!

Great question! It is all in how you are doing the exercises and using your core and pelvic floor. Breathing is key and followed up with pelvic floor stretching can also be helpful.

@@DrMelissaOleson Could you please give me more instructions? Is it safe to perform these exercises if I breathe a certain way? I have a hypertonic pelvic floor and an overactive bladder, and I'm afraid of making it worse. Also, I have a 1cm diastasis recti, so it's tricky to work out. But I crave some training. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! You have so many good classes I'd like to try.

@@ForestKiddo Again it is all in how you are doing the exercises and what you are feeling while doing them. Managing intra-abdominal pressure is key and breathing and posture are the 2 places I start with my clients. This is where seeing a pelvic floor therapist for your exact needs can be super helpful. We do have lots of resources here on our youtube channel and free masterclass with more info like our Bossy Bladder masterclass square-art-937.myflodesk.com/bladder-control For more in depth and exactly how to do this we have our signature program the pelvic floor playbook that walks you through exactly how to do this.

@@DrMelissaOleson Thank you so much! I do see a therapist. She says I need to relax my pelvic floor muscles and work on my transverse abdominals to heal my diastasis. I just don't get how to strengthen the lower abs without tensing up the pelvic floor. Plus, I want to do some workouts to strengthen my lower body as it could be helpful too. I do your pelvic floor release routine and want to try out other classes, but I'm a bit confused and don't want to make it worse.
