I lost my first wife to cancer we had a daughter together and I half way sung this at her wedding and I literally couldn't sing the last part because I was crying so much. I loved Lori so much she was my ray of sunshine but sometimes you have to except that God needs more angels. When Lori passed away I cried until I ached in my bones. I know she watches over me because I see her in everything I do.

This one was tough. The morning after my mom died as we were pulling out of our drive, in the rain, my oldest son started singing this son. 5 years later he joined his Nanny and knowing they are together has always brought me peace. Beautiful song and reaction. Even if it did take me like 8 times to make it through the whole song. God bless you and your family!

Reminds me of my unborn daughter that was murdered 42 yrs ago her killers were never caught. I hear children laughing at night, my little brother in law was 14 yrs old when he was struck and killed by a drunk driver and i know he is taking care of her, my son took his own life in 2017 the pain is so horrible i miss my children more and more everyday. When i got married my Mom had already died so i understand the pain of the loss of a mother she passed 5 yrs before i married i carried her picture in my bouquet so she could be apart of it. the pain will never go away ever. i miss my Mommy everyday of my life.

Amazing reaction and incredible song. My girlfriend God bless her. She lost her mom to breast cancer 2 years ago. And then last year she lost her only sister a week before her nieces 2 birthday. There are still songs that are amazing songs, but we cannot listen to them because she will break down and cry her eyes out. I do everything I cam for her but I still wish I could do more.

As a paranormal investigator, I'm a firm believer that our loved ones never really leave us I've got electronic recordings of my mother talking after she passed away. She said she was ok now. It really helped put me at peace. She died of COPD. As weird as it sounds she'd been suffering for a while and knowing that she could breath freely now and on top of that breath the air of heaven was such a freeing moment for me. I was relieved that she wasn't suffering anymore.

The story in the song is similar to something that happened in my family, when I was in 4th grade my aunt(my mom's sister) passed away 5 months after being diagnosed with cancer. My cousin was 5 at the time, so of course there was only so much she understood. 5 years ago my cousin got married and she now has a daughter of her own, whom she gave her mother's name to. That song reminds me of that because my cousin was so young when my aunt passed and then years later married and now has a daughter of her own

As for the emptiness I completely agree that you’re never the same. I lost my dad when I was 10 (11/4/07) fast forward a few years and my grandpa on my dads side passed away from stomach cancer (10/24/12) and fast forward about 9 months and (what I believe is a thing) broken heart syndrome took my grandma her health was already deteriorating before her husband of 51 years my grandpa passed away and I believe that just (for the lack of a better phrase) sealed the deal. I believe that emptiness hits you a hell of a lot harder when you don’t get to say goodbye and come from a broken family as well. My entire family myself included have always been very stubborn and high on our pride. The last year or two of my dads life he was in and out of the hospital several times he had a rare disease called C.R.E.S.T. syndrome I can’t remember now what that stands for of the top of my head. But the day before he passed he begged my grandparents to not bring me to the hospital because he didn’t want me to see him that weak. When my grandpa passed I was living with them at the time my grandma woke me up at 3am crying saying she think he’s on his way out. He held on until about 11pm because I was up all day I dozed off and woke back up to one of my grandpas sisters telling me he was gone. When my grandma passed I was at Virginia Beach my mother took us kids there about every year to see may grandpa on her side of the family. We live in Ohio. We were at the beach and it was a gloomy day to begin with and I couldn’t help but feel my grandmas presents and got the call about an hour or so later that she had passed about a week and a half before my 16th birthday. I was able to move forward for a while but I’ve seem to have hit a wall at some point and I’m not sure when that I can’t seem to move past.

I had a miscarriage, my 7th one, 2 weeks before my due date. As I was sitting inside my house, I felt someone tapping my hip. I was scared and started to leave the house and noticed a praying mantis on my doorway. Now I always see one when I'm beyond depressed

Don’t believe in God, or an afterlife, but I also don’t think I could even comprehend it if there was such things. That’d be like me trying to explain Bluetooth to a caveman. I sure hope there is, but I’m very willing to wait to find out. If there’s a heaven, the people I’d want to see aren’t going anywhere.
