I like the analogy Steve used of men setting traps and then coming back later to check and see if they've caught any women. If they find that you're still there responding to them and continuing to show interest in them after they've ignored you for days/weeks/months, then they know they've caught you. Their behavior is so childish. I agree with Aneeta, be the first to cut them off - don't let them waste your time with their game-playing.

As much as I condone this and I believe what she went through is wrong, it goes BOTH ways. There are Men who will take women out on dates and the same women will abuse a mans wallet. A man offers a soda and a woman will buy soda, fries and chicken. This happened to my friend who even finished his money for transport. False, and a touch sexist. It depends on each situation and person. A good example? What if the man (or woman) is having a shat week at work and is just stupidly busy even when off the clock. They may still have a lot of interest in you, but right then - since you're not married yet - you aren't on their mind since you aren't living together. People CAN get busy and simply lose track of time. Plus, romance and dating are supposed to be a two-way street. Both sides should be showing interest in each other.

Macy went to happy hour with a coworker. She finds the guy attractive. Fine. At some point he texts, “Can’t wait to do happy hour again!”, but he never follows up. He never asks her out explicitly. Ladies, take the hint. Stop asking these guys out or saying ‘When are we going to do such-and-such?’ If a man is interested he will chase you, pursue you, and ask YOU out. If he doesn’t, MOVE ON. Macy’s first mistake was asking, “Should we hang out again soon?” Steve should have told her that. Instead, he gives her terrible advice and things go downhill from there. The guy responds with “I’m not sure.” It *REALLY* should have ended right there. There was absolutely NO reason to respond or continue interacting with this dude outside of normal co-worker stuff AT WORK and possibly hanging out *IN A GROUP SETTING* with other co-workers. He is clearly either not interested, has other obligations, is playing games, or all of the above. Either way, it should have been a WRAP.

People are limited to their written communication skills when texting. And most people didn't develop any in school. You're also relying on the reading and comprehension level of your text recipient. Plus, most communication is non verbal to begin with.

I think the first woman messed up from the beginning. She should have asked him if cafe girl (or anyone else) is in a relationship/exclusive with him. Can’t be afraid to ask questions. His answer would have told her whether to move on or keep dating. Being the cool/ok girl doesn’t serve. They became “text friends”. Then what? Her asking him to get together seems like a moment of desperation. She is beautiful and could do better.

I enjoyed his TV show. Steve is so funny. I loved this part of the show. When someone says, "To be honest with you," or "To tell you the truth," you can pretty well count on what they say will be the exact opposite. Steve Harvey is great!

None of those text messages were confusing. The guys clearly were not interested and the girls did not want to believe. Macy did not need to send that "me either" text. It made her looked desperate. The "nobody" text was even worse.

Even in commitment, you can’t control another person, they have to choose you - and you them - every day. Dating is to gather data - is the person capable of love, do your definitions match, does this person have the character and qualities of someone you want to be with, does the person treat you how you want, does the person want to be with you, do you both (after getting to know each other) agree to be exclusive and committed? We must care for our own hearts.

In my experience women, in some instances, act the same way. Back when I was dating, I'd have girls just go silent. No texts, no call, no responses at all after going out. It was just radio silence with no explanation. It was ridiculous. A friend of mine was talking to a girl, she told him she was interested, but every time he asked her to lunch, coffee, or whatever, she always had an excuse. One excuse she used was that she was busy cleaning her bathroom lol. I'll tell you what, it's crazy out there whether you're a guy or a girl. Thank God I finally met my wife and don't have to deal with all the crazy anymore.

I disagree with Steve when he said " don't be surprised at the audacity of men" . It should be "don't be surprised at the shamelessness of some men". If men were not audacious, relationships would cease to exist. And not all men are that audacious, only scumbags. Real men put a lot of effort into their relationships and support their partners in all walks of life. Be smart and use your head before you get intimate with someone. Just coz they have a good appearance or money doesn't mean they are good people.

First of all, Steve should know that if this guy was really out there cheating, he would have a lock on his phone, and he would not give his phone to his girlfriend to answer his text messages for him. He was cutting her off, perhaps because of the awkward situation between them at work. Steve should've asked Macy what happened the first time they went out together? She seem to be hiding something. Dude moved on and he really wanted her to know that he did. There was nothing confusing about that text: "who is this?" means that he's been done with you. Why are you still texting him?

I really think it was the guy's girlfriend. She must have seen the text message and decided to investigate who it was. The girlfriend was already on alert because of him being out with another girl the night before.

These texts ain't confusing. Men aren't confusing. Men are quite simple tbh. If he's showing even the slightest sign he doesn't want to be with you, then he don't wanna be with you. As a girl who grew up with no sisters and four brothers, just from listening to them and the things they do and say when it comes to dating men just want a woman. That's that. If you don't think it's you, it's not you. It's someone else. Even if they are a good guy and tell you honestly or if they are a hoe and try and keep you around just to be the side chick. When it ain't you, it ain't you.
