I need your help doing the Maiden of the P-38 with the programmed AR636. Enjoyed the build, but now that it’s together it scares me. Two 3200 4s 30c’s in it. I’m not strong enough to pick it up. I need you to carry it from the truck to the field, fly it, dial it in and put it back in the truck. I’ll carry the Flightline 1200 Spitfire for you to fly. I know what a fan you are of the elliptical wing.

Hi. Is it possible to copy the Eflite Viper setup file from the AR636 to another AR636A? I have the AR636 now in my Viper and wan't to use the same setup in a new Avanti S 80mm.

Hey all, I ripped one of these out of a beat up Blade Theory FPV Wing and trying to run in my own foam wing and I have it bound to my TX16S and working normally (although range seems to be terrible for some reason), and I have panic button working on ch5, but can't get any flight modes to work on ch6. Any idea where I went wrong?

HI Dave, I am on my 4th AS3X programming, so you would think I have a rough idea what am doing. The problem is that I am not getting any stability on the RX. I am getting mode 1 (off) mode 3 (panic mode) but no stability mode. Any ideas. Thanks Ron

Hi, great series, thank you for making. Quick question, if I have a laptop with Bluetooth can I use the Bluetooth dongle with my laptop or do I still need the usb cable?

Unfortunately the Spektrum Programmer app on the PC can not communicate with the Bluetooth Programming Module at this time. So to get the PC working you need the USB Programming Cable. Link is in the description to purchase the USB Cable from Horizon.

Hi Dave, do you need the SPMA3081 cable for your phone to activate AS3X or can I activate it with my SPMA3065 cable? I just reset a AR636A but I can't change the AS3X settings on my NX8. Thanks.

On the AR636 it’s all done with the Programmer Cable.

Dave, looks like the RCGroups link for the SAFE model builder is not working: Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator Do you have another link?

Dave-It-Yourself Channel sorry about that, there is a new version of the SAFE Model builder and the old link is now broken. I need to update the description for all the videos.

Can I do this with the Spektrum Bluetooth module and a iX12? Can I use the audio jack instead of BL module and plug in to iX12 audio jack?

Cassis 101 the Bluetooth module with the iX12 works. I haven’t tried the audio jack. The screen of the iX12 is horizontal only, so it may not work so well. I would personally just use a phone or tablet

Quick question will these videos also work with a ar630 and a nx6 I just bought a pnp 1.2m p-51 and I’ve tried to program it and everything seems to work on the transmitter but I can’t hear any servos trying to move when I move the plane really quick

Yep, it should work fine. You may want to make sure your gains are set to fixed instead of adjustable. You don’t have a knob to adjust them on the NX6, so just start with the defaults and turn any gain adjustment channels to inhibit.

I'm trying to program an ar636 receiver for a plane to have safe and as3x on it. But it has dual elevator servos. Can you give any insight into how to program the radio to work for this? I have the teceiver programed and I told it that the plane would have dual elevator servos.

RC Marshall, great series! I followed steps for reprogramming a AR636B for a FMS Yak 70mm, but the landing gear and flaps won't work on the Aux channels. I'm using a Spektrum 8e transmitter. Any ideas? Mahalo!

Aloha! Couple of things to check. Make sure the wing type is set up to one that is appropriate for your servo setup. For the FMS Yak it should be 1 aileron 1 flap. This will unlock the flap setup menu and assign flaps to Aux 1. In the flap setup you would assign the switch that you want to use for flaps. For the gear, you want to make sure the switch you want to use for gear (I always use A) is assigned to the gear channel (channel 5). If that’s all set up correctly we can go from there, but that should get you moving in the right direction.

@@TheRCAirMarshall - Quick update. I used a servo tester and the servos for the landing gear and flaps are fine. I designated 1 aileron and 1 flap, put flaps on Aux 1 and put the landing gear on switch A. all of the controls, including gyros, SAFE flight modes and panic button work perfect! However, the landing gear and flaps are still not engaging. Perhaps I should delete the model and start from scratch in the transmitter? Aloha!

You mentioned that it’s an AR636B. Was this pulled from another airplane? I know on some, if there are channels not used they will be disabled in the receiver. You may need to check using the Spektrum Programmer that all the receiver channels are enabled. For example, the night radian with the AR636B was set up this way.

Is it possible to use one from a 230s V2 and reprogram it to use in a plane?

I know I am given the option to load the Blade Firmware on to an airplane AR636, so I have to assume yes. But that's an intelligent guess, I don't know for sure. You would absolutely need to change the firmware on the receiver, but after that I would guess that it should work fine.

I’ve honestly never set up a Helicopter, only fixed wing. I believe there are three or four different firmware versions specific for different models of helicopters available in the Spektrum Programmer software. You’d have to check them out and see which one is the closest match to what you’re installing it in and adjust from there.

My volume is on high and i can barely hear someone talking...

20 videos to explain how to program a gyro WTF !! When 3 pots and a few dip switches will do the trick .. i think this gyro will put u in a bad mood AND keep u there
