When I connect to AR636A RX with servo plugs all connected in plane , Is it ok to leave all plugs hooked up when I’m powering up by hitting the check box on my laptop. I know if I use flight pack it will fry my Laptop USB port . Once I reinstall the program then I can take it to the field and use the Bluetooth module, and then power up using flight pack to make adjustments. Is that correct. I can’t thank you enough for these videos. 😊

Hi Dave, thanks for the series. I have the ar630 module. Can you confirm if the Blue tooth module is required for some features or can everything be done with the USB cable? I can see that the BT module would be useful at the field but am I right in thinking it can only perform limited operations compared to the USB cable and a PC?

The AR630 doesn’t need any of these cables unless you’re pulling it from a BNF airplane and it’s locked for that airframe. For the AR630 check out my series for the AR637T, the 630 programs the same via Forward Programming right from your transmitter. No computer or apps needed.

@@TheRCAirMarshall Really appreciate the prompt reply Dave. I'm using a Radiomaster TX16s with multiprotocol. Although it does have a forward programming LUA script it can't find the module (says "No compatible DSM RX...") even though it is bound and the sticks move the surfaces correctly. The issue I'm seeing is the stabilization isn't active. Any idea's?

@@kevinlancaster3200 without being able to properly get into forward programming, you’re not going to be able to change the gain properties of the receiver. What I would suggest is find a buddy with a Spektrum transmitter and bind it to your receiver. Use it to program everything to your liking, then rebind to the TX16S. The Forward Programming LUA for the TX16S doesn’t render half the screens properly even when it can find a receiver.

Hi, the bluetooth cable is giving the light signal, but when i click in the bluetooth sign in the app, the app wont find nothing... can you help?

Oh shit I just rewatched . You unplugged all servo connections before hitting check box to re program. Bummer .

Can this be used with the UMX horizon models?

Devin Gable I don’t believe so, only with their larger models that feature an AR636A or AR636B receiver.

How do I import a model onto the app?

I have ar630 why do spektrum sell rx that u have to buy laptop just so u can open safe mode I just want plug it in plane and fly how come these pnp safe planes work with my tx yet I can't use it

If you bought an AR630 (not pulled from a BNF airplane) you don’t need a laptop at all. The 636 was a different beast. The only time you need a laptop with the AR630 is when you’re pulling it from a BNF airplane and you want to unlock it to program it for a new plane.

@@stevejamelskyj5761 are we still talking about an AR630 receiver? The most common reason for this is that the gains are set to adjustable with nothing set up to actually adjust the gains, so the default to zero. To correct that you would set the gains to fixed and that should allow AS3X to respond after the throttle goes above 25%

@@TheRCAirMarshall yes same ar630 u say to adjust gains I can't actually get into it to adj anything I'm coming to point of selling it on ebay as nexus models UK won't accept it for refund as its been opened and used how hell do I set up without being told its used got pissed off with them so I'd advise no one to buy from them

Was the overwrite glitch on first connection problem fixed?

Sometimes it works, sometimes it glitches. To be on the safe side, I always do the work around. Save everything in the Spektrum programmer, connect to mobile, then go back and rewrite the profile in the Spektrum programmer. That always takes care of it.

So basically the it's always better to program it with the desktop computer cuz the bluetooth it's pretty much worthless..
