I am going to say right off the bat, I am a Klipsch guy. This is going back to the 90's when a friend of mine blew me away with his Forte II speakers. Since then, I was hooked on Klipsch. I have had several speakers outside of their heritage line since, and was mostly happy with them. Recently, I had bought the RP-600m's due to their rave review, but when I got them, I had noticed that they are more subdued from the Klipsch speakers I had from the past. More so, I had discovered that the RP-600m's have a VERY scooped out midrange. I still kept them because the highs are still better than on some other speakers that I have tested, and the bass is incredible for a speaker of it's size. Now, I am looking for a small speaker with a 4" woofer for my computer system. I do have a subwoofer for this system, so the speakers don't have to perform well in the low end. I did start off with Klipsch, but I found out that a horn loaded, or waveguide, tweeter would be too forward given the near field placement. So I had been comparing other speakers in the $300 and below price range that have a small footprint and a 4" woofer. The Micca RB-42, the MB-42x came up and so did the Elac BS41. On paper and reviews, a clear winner was coming forth and it was the RSL CG3m's. I bought those and tried them out, but found that the midbass had a bad peak at 350hz. I had to bring down the 250hz and 500hz controls over 4db each to mitigate the bonk. I thought something must be up, but in the end, it was the speakers. I returned those and, once again, began my search. A similar speaker to the RSL, the PSB P3 had come up that was just slightly more expensive than the CG3m's. This speaker seemed to fair well in many comparisons, but I have to say, when compared to a Klipsch speaker, I am surprised at HOW MUCH it has come out ahead. I am currently listening to comparisons with a system that has a pair of Sony SSCS5's on my desktop. While these sound great, the problem is that they are too big for a desktop application. Soo, in lieu of this final demonstration, I think the deal is sealed. ....Yeah, it is is. I just went on Amazon and ordered a pair of the PSB P3's. I will give them a shot and see if they are better than the RSL's I tried out.

try to blobk the ports and +2 to +4db in bass.... the way those speakers can sound that way really afraids me thay can do more bass and more extension than a lot of bigger speakers... and if you EQ the 250Hz to 100Hz to -5dB is like having a sub and the spund is just very clean

The PSB has a bit fuller midrange, and the mids on the Klipsch are a bit recessed, but not as much as some Klipsch bookshelf speakers. And, the R41M has clearer highs, which sound rolled off on the PSB. Overall, I think I prefer the Klipsch, especially since they cost half what the PSB does

Agreed. The P3's are greatly overpriced for the performance they deliver but at least they are visually cute.

I prefer the PSB 100%. Too much sibilance for Klipsch (in the second song it gets much worse) and bass, although punchy, a bit too lean. PSB could (maybe) use a bit more top end, but overall a much more enjoyable balanced sound (for me). Btw E-project, thanks again 👍

Wow, those PSB Alpha P3's are a positive surprise - great for price and size. Wins both track 1 & 2. These cheap Klipsch got a poor frequency response, with some huge peaks, it seems. I like the higher priced Klipsch, but not these.

The Klipsh clearly destroy the PSB''s in this comparison in several respects. The clarity and uniformity of the R41'M's soundstage is so superior to the PSB's, I am wondering if this pair of Alpha P3's, or the recording of them is as good as other speakers in these tests. Their soundstage doesn't sound completely uniform here, so I will refrain from criticizing them too much.

@@shaolin95 No, you can't judge them completely. You need to hear them IRL for that. You can judge them partialy and get a sense of the differences between them, wich will mostly bear itself out IRL. If you can't the hear differences between them in a decent KZread comparison , you probably can't hear them IRL either, so just buy any speakers...they'll sound about the same to you. Lol.

The 41M and 51M are crap speakers. They are ok (just) for home theater and will definitely need a sub but sounds real bad for any serious 2 channel listening. This is not based on the video but what I heard in real life. Awful is the word.

@@Audioloon at least a 2.1, that shrill treble is fun for the first 30 minutes, then it gets irritating. Many people I know go for a brighter sound when it come to HT but I have never heard any cinema, even the best ones, sound even remotely bright, so definitely thats not how its supposed to sound. The 41M and 51M sure have the showroom wow factor but youll get bored quick.

I'm not a big fan of the Klipsh sound generaly,.but for so lttle money you get clarity, openess, energy, dynamics and respectable soundstage, beyond it's price and can power them very well with 50 watts or less. In their ridiculously low price range. I'd take my pair of Micca RB42''s over them any day and night for a small room, but you can't power them well with 50 watts. The Klipsh are a fantastic value. They're not crap speakers.

@@williammiebach1798 depends on where you are. The klipschs are expensive in many countries and there is a plethora of other better choices. They are still crap sounding to me, especially the 41m and 51m.
