This is SOOOOOOOOOO helpful. My math teacher is so lazy and just stares at girls lol. Wish me luck on my test tomorrow!
Thank you for watching, taking the time to comment and subscribing Melissa! Please share my channel with your other classmates who might also benefit from the extra help and save them the search time on KZread:)
You are very welcome:) Thank you for watching.
In my Precalculus playlist...videos numbered 21 & 22
Best math videos I have found on youtube. I was beginning to become discouraged, but then I watched your video on graphing exponentials and felt relief. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos :)

And THANK YOU Kristy for taking the time to seek out extra help and not giving up until you found my channel:) See, good things do come to those who wait:) I also appreciate you subscribing!
Your Algebra videos are the reason I'm passing College Algebra. You got me a B on my last test and only 5 people passed that test. Your channel is amazing
"Next example" killed me 😂
After setting up the equation for example 3 "The Beast", I paused the video to solve. I came up with the same solution as yours. I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW (with joy of course). I have an exam on Rational and Radical Expressions this Tuesday. Feeling much more confident on this topic now. Thanks Mr. T.

i am starting to like math now ....you have made it much much easier than school.............thankyou
BAM!...You just made my day Melissa!!! I've also had many student who have started study groups...they watch my videos together then work on homework together :)...it never seems as bad when you have others to share the work with. Let me know if that works out...

Leah Rangel-Mendoza you're welcome, thanks for choosing to learn from #ProfRobBob
see, I came back to like. i forgot the previos time. What would be your best advice for someone that strugles with math in general?
This is very helpful and clear! Thank you! One question though: In the first example, why did you have to subtract -6 from 5 and 6? I think you called "isolating", but I'm really confused about that. And another question: Why did you have to use -6? I need to know how and why to do this "isolation" thing..... If you need me to clarify my question, just tell me. Thank you very much in advance! =)
Couldn't we check our answers for extraneous solutions by making sure we don't have zero in the denominator?
You are awesome! Thx!!

(-3/x)+(4/5)=(7/x) 5x[(-3/x)+(4/5)]=5x(7/x) -15+4x=35 4x=35+15 4x=50 x=25/2=12.5 solution
[5/(2x-1)]=3/x 3(2x-1)=5x 6x-3=5x 6x-5x=3 x=3 solution

is it wrong if the value of my x is a decimal number?
@profrobbob
8 жыл бұрын
Give your answer in the form that your teacher requests. If they want exact form, then yes a decimal will be incorrect.. at least if it has been rounded off. like 5/2 is 2.5 but 10/3 is not 3.3 or 3.333333333333 which has still been rounded off.
I'm not sure why, but I'm having trouble solving --> 2x / 5 = x^2-5x / 5x . I tried multiplying each side by 5(5x), but I still don't come up with a workable equation. I must be doing something wrong.
@gibsonj338

Kellen Evoy 2x/5=(x^2-5x)/(5x) Multiply both sides by 5(5x) and when you do that you get 2x(5x) = 5(x^2-5x). Next multiply 2x by 5x and multiply 5 by x^x - 5x and when you do that you get 10x^2 = 5x^2 - 25x. Next subtract 5x^2 and add 25x to both sides and when you do that you get 5x^2 +25x = 0. Next use the quadratic formula and when you do you get x=0 and x=-5. Since x cannot equal 0, the only other answer is x=-5.
Omg thanks excuse the acronym but thanks for the help I may not take summer school because of you my thing was that if I do bad on the final im taking summer school, guess not

I'm in college, and I'm trying to solve these but with more terms. I find an answer, but it's not checking out. this is it: 2/(y+1)+4/(3y-1)=52/(y+1)(3y-1)

Start by multiplying both sides by (y+1)(3y-1). I ended up with 51/10 which is 5.1
