I can’t speak for every one but me personally my hair flourished when it was relaxed. Now that I’m natural it can’t get past a certain length due to breakage, knots, and tangles. I just can’t do it anymore. I don’t have the time it takes to keep it healthy. Or the money to pay someone else to keep it healthy. 😂 UPDATE I have since relaxed my hair and it is once again flourishing. I only relax every 3-4 months. Keep up with trims, deep conditions and protein treatments. Do what’s best for YOU. Don’t let anyone that won’t help you with your hair tell you how to handle YOUR hair.

I feel the exact same way about my natural hair. It is a full time job taking care of my natural hair. And my hair did way better when it was relaxed as well.

The main reason may be that people stopped caring about what others were doing to their hair and started thinking for themselves regardless of the "movement or the agenda" that was going on in our country. It's a personal choice regardless of the reason. I relax my hair every 12 to 13 weeks, sometimes longer than that. I've had a relaxer since I was nine years old. Two worthwhile inventions were the relaxer and air conditioner - All the things said about relaxers can be argued against products, weave, the water 💦 we drink, and other things. There are many cares in this life we must focus on as women, wives, friends, and mothers. Hair preference should not be debatable. Our choices are just that - ours! Respect yourself and honor those who make decisions without consulting you or me about their choice of hair care. I have learned much about hair from relaxing and natural hair content videos. The political part doesn't need fueling or policing - be thankful to God for your blessing and be kind to those you encounter daily with a smile❤.

After a break of about a decade and a half, I am getting ready to start relaxing my hair again. Part of it is because I have gone much more gray, and as you know, gray hairs can be a real pain in the butt. And I decided that relaxed is the best for me. When my hair was relaxed, it was easy to take care of, but my desire to be natural really turned out to be much more time consuming. I refuse to wear wigs, weaves, extensions, or wear my hair in braids, so I'm pretty much stuck. I am one of those who doesn't believe in relaxing the hair bone straight, and like many others, I am relaxing my hair to make it easier to take care of and to style.

It would seem as though many of the KZread influencers are going back to relaxers and most of my family members have relaxed hair. Those that are natural wear their hair straightened or silk pressed the majority of the time. I have been tempted to go back to relaxed hair because it was easier to maintain and that's when my hair was the longest (mid-back). Congratulations on reaching over 500 subscribers! Great video.

I relax my hair every 3 months. It took me 2 years to learn my hair and begin seeing thickness and retention. To be honest, it was me who wasn't consistent with my regime. I also learned not to use the highest setting to straighten my hair. Now, that really was the game changer for me, as well as letting the dead ends go 😒. I have so many people compliment my hair now and ask who does it. I think that's a compliment to what I've been doing with being consistent. However, I would love being under a professional as yourself 🥰😊.

Yes, I believe people are going back to relaxers. I see alot of new yt channels coming up about relaxed hair. As for me, I never stopped (despite the backlash I received from my natural family members). I just never saw the point in going natural, because I started noticing my natural sisters (even saw some youtubers) constantly complaining about their natural (non relaxed) hair being damaged and then every other year they were doing "big chops". It all seemed pointless to me, since relaxers ALSO "damage" your hair. Not to mention I notice how much TIME natural hair women had to spend just to maintain (basically fighting with) and style their hair daily - which was MUCH more than I spend on my relaxed hair.

Thank you for replying 🥰 but yes I have a good amount of people that is like six or seven years natural that is coming in to get their hair fully relaxed they said that some say that their hair grow more and it was easier to manage and it was healthier when it was relaxed and then of course some say that it's just easy to manage relaxed hair so that's the reason.. lol

Her hair is so healthy and beautiful 🥰. I myself have been natural for 10 years now and I can’t see myself going back to relaxers, it’s something about my fro I just can’t let go ☺️😄. I too have seen a increase of people going back to relaxers.

TCB was a favourite for me too. Just loved the results it was giving.

First, love your work. I’m from north Texas, but live in Illinois, and have been natural for over 5 years. With the humidity in Houston I know me and my natural hair would be struggling. Just visiting family there for the weekend, I have to put my hair up in a puff. But in Illinois I don’t have that humidity or when home in North Texas so it’s no issue whatsoever. I think the weather, climate, location plays a big part when it comes to natural hair.

Lmbf.. yes you are so right 😊 the humidity does play a factor in a lot of the things we kind of don't like like shrinkage and if you're not properly deep conditioning your hair than it can breakage because of dryness.. I went almost 2 years with no protective styling just shampooing and deep conditioning my hair every two weeks and trimming my hair when necessary my hair flourish and grew so good maybe I do a video on that..

They never went out of style. Many women kept wearing them.

You did gorgeous on relaxing your client's hair. She looks fabulous with it.

I think that people are going back to relaxers because relaxers make the hair easier to manage. There are times when i want to relax my hair.

Her hair is beautiful!! I relax every 4 months but sometimes I'll stretch to 6 months like I have this last stretch so this will be my second and last relaxer of the year. I self relax and use mizani so my hair does feel really good afterwards but I'm tired of self relaxing so I'm returning to the salon being that I stretched for 6 months and I don't want to deal with it, lol. I've been natural over ten years and I am over it. Living in south Florida a silk press does not last a day before my hair starts to revert. My hair has gotten longer and thicker and it is a lot to manage. I will be getting a relaxer soon.

Yes I know natural hair can be frustrating just in case you're not really dedicated to a relaxer look into texture release I do have videos if you like to check those out but a texture release does help with the problems of being natural but of course you still can wear your hair and the curly State when you decide to.. but if you want to get a relaxer I do recommend to please go to a professional I hope this help and thank you for commenting..

I wanted to say I did purchase the #4 relaxer kit, reconstructor, olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I had already relaxed my hair about 2 weeks ago with just for me. Been using that off and on cause my scalp is so sensitive cause of my psoriasis. But when time comes I will give the affirm line a try and tell u what I think of it. I was natural for 18 months in which I learned so much about my hair. I'm now relaxed and touch-up at the salon between 5 or 6 months. One stylist used Design Essentials relaxer another one uses Influance relaxer. Do you like either relaxer product?

If you have been doing this habitually I would get fresh eyes on your process. You could be overprocessing especially if you are doing it yourself. It should be kinda difficult for you to only address your new growth being on average it would be about 1 inch. Maybe on your edges you can see it but middle of your hair and back it would be hard to differentiate from the angle that you are able to see. As always I strongly recommend chemical processes be carried out by a professional.

I went natural twice in my life and for me it was hard cause I have 4c hair and it be so hard to comb and so tangly so I just gave up. Then coming it made the crown of my head sore and I feel like some hair loss in the crown area resulted from it being sore and tender from trying to come through it. Plus it doesn't help that I have polycystic ovarian disease either. Thx again

Try using a wetbrush and conditioner under shower 🚿 water. Aussie moist shampoo, moist conditioner, and Vo5 kiwi condish are excellent! Try vo5 kiwi as the leave in. Braid, bun, or ponytail 😮 Do this weekly & Thank me when your 4c hair is hanging way down your back 🎉🦋😊

I’m considering going back because my natural hair will not take a rinse or color and I have used Pravana blue black, Kenra Jet Black, Adore Blue Black rinse and it just sits on top of my hair as then wears off like in 2 weeks both permanent and semipermanent..

I have not seen this issue before. I would recommend you consult with your local colorist. They should use a professional line to deliver the service. If they do not have a consultation with you, deliver education , and give expectation of results and process you are more than likely not dealing with a professional colorist.

Unfortunately I do not have that information. I was able to find the texture release contact # 800-332-8566. Maybe call them and see if they can give you the # for the Affirm relaxer line. Hope that helps.

I cant wait to relax my hair. Ive been natural for so long and I have grown to despise trying to take care of it. The knots, tangles, and pain are endless. Its expensive and time consuming. I cannot wait to relax it and have more control over my hair.

I went back to a relaxer 3 weeks ago after 7 years natural. Natural was too much upkeep for me. I wrap my hair at night and go to bed now.

Hi ❤ I wanted to ask you a question about texture release. I’m a straight natural, I I go to the salon twice a month to have a blow dry my hair and silk 2 to 3 times a year. I’m pondering texture release for humidity and because I want to work out. I’m really afraid of damaging or change my hair texture Do you think is a good treatment? What’s your clients experience in the following months after the 1st treatment?

So with the texture release it does release the curl pattern so. So for example if you are 4C very curly then your hair will be loose maybe around a 3C. Now over time from washing your hair the release solution will wash out within 2 to 3 months depending on how often you wash your hair I highly suggest for healthy hair growth wash your hair deep condition every two weeks. Breakage no me and none of my clients have it experience breakage.. now you must still take care of your hair.. now it's not a relaxer so if you work out heavy or your hair get very wet then it will revert back.. I just got my hair relaxed in August. I went back to relaxed hair because it was easiest way for me to do my hair. My hair is 4C with fine too medium stands. Overall, I have a lot of stands so it makes it look a little bit thicker. Just a little thicker. Right now, I’ve been relaxed maybe 6 weeks or so, and I’m looking for a good flat iron with rotating plates. Do you have any suggestions? I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I do recommend to only flat iron your hair once a month and before you flat iron make sure you deep condition your hair with a plastic cap under a heated dryer for 20 minutes.. I hope all this information helps thank you for your comment

@@beckya640 so yes you definitely can flat iron your hair once a month the other times you can do things like a roller said you can do Flexi-Rod Set, you can do a perm rod set you can just do more styles that doesn't require you to do direct heat on your head

It’s BEST not to comb the relaxer at all. The relaxer is a chemical. It is formulated to work without manipulation. @mary102487
