    It's definitely because of lack of education. We really just wanted the look but didn't know that we were relaxing too soon and too much. A lot of us weren't getting trims and regular deep conditioning but we was doing too much. Too much tension and not enough retention. ❤

    No it’s not, it’s because these stylist want that money. They care nothing about the health of your hair and scalp. When I had a relaxer, I went to a professional and my scalp couldn’t take it.

    I went back to having a relaxer after 7 years of being natural. I'd been relaxed since third grade. However, I am not proficient with natural hair. I went to my stylist, got a virgin relaxer and I am very happy now.

    I believe more and more ladies are going back to relaxing their hair. Before going back to natural hair, my hair had been relaxed for over 40 years. It was easier because of my life style. I was accustomed to having relaxers done every 6 to 8 weeks per the hair stylist (my cousin). However when I changed stylist, it was recommended that I get a relaxer no earlier than 12 weeks. But for me she said I should try to wait until 14 weeks. I did this for several years, then I realized if I was going to wait that long I decided to just stop getting relaxers altogether. Because of scalp issues I can’t go back to relaxers even though I have been solely tempted. Excellent teaching video. The client’s hair is beautiful.

    GORGEOUS!! Lord! I MISS MY RELAXED HAIR!!! It was soooo much easier!! Way less time consuming!! I think I will eventually return to a relaxer. I just enjoy having the option to wear my hair straight without it poofing up the minute I walk outdoors! 8 years natural is enough for me! However, I wuld space my relaxers out more, approx, 10-12 weeks instead of every 8 weeks. Great job 👏🏽!😊

    Thank you so much yes that's the type of comments I'm getting a lot, a lot of women found it more easier for them to keep a hairstyle when it was relaxed, and they also say they didn't have any type of damage to the hair when they were relaxed they just wanted to go natural out of curiosity I definitely recommend to only get a relaxer every 3 months at the most

    Try the #30daydetox before you return to relaxers. It's just 30 days, so if you hate it, it's not a huge time commitment.

    People are going back to relaxers. Haircare is important. Wigs use takes a toll in terms of application. Gluing on the hairline. Hairdressers suffer as people did not see the necessity to treat their hair as they are wearing wigs but they have found out otherwise. I am a hairdresser so i can expound on the topic

    I think a lot of people went natural and it wasn’t for everyone depending on hair type and lifestyle and now they’re going back to relaxers. I agree that the education on application, care and frequency of relaxing has gotten better but I can’t get with the chemicals personally.

  • @BehindTheScenesM2GH

    @BehindTheScenesM2GH

    Sure no problem I'll be happy to answer your question..😊 so when it comes to the timeframe you leave on a relaxer it depends on the texture and the density of your clients hair.. so for the relaxers that I use, in the instructions the time you can leave it's between 13-20mins.. Now I definitely recommend to read the instructions with the relaxer or the hairstylist read the instructions to the relaxer they used because the timeframe could vary depending on the relaxer that is used ..

    I think it was definitely going to uneducated stylists and not knowing how to properly care for the hair. So many stylists comb through the relaxer which is apparently bad, they leave it on long, they don’t rebuild the bonds, maintain proper pH, use harsh relaxers, relax to often and overprocess.

    For her retouch she'll come back 3 months from now I don't recommend to get a relaxer every 4 to 6 weeks that is too frequent and it increase overlapping and over processing.. and it also depends on the individual I have some women that get a relaxer twice a year and some once a year..
