And if the snow is too deep it will automatically load the excess in the back of the van so you can haul it off!!! Ingenious.

Dude you're brilliant I'm in the process of doing this right now I couldn't finish it before our snowstorm but I'll have it done this weekend I have it all attached to the van except I wanted to get some snow plow shoe skids this will help the board slide a little better on my driveway because I have the grass in the middle and I can adjust the heighth of the board so it's not scraping on the ground cuz I have a lot of bumps in my driveway too but I want you to know that you made this all possible thank you

I logged in just to leave a comment here. You are a genius with a capital G. Your device looks simple but the mechanics, forces, and engineering behind it are quite complex! I'm making one for myself. It would require some tweaking, but this could easily be a prototype for a real life, working model meant for the public.

I think I'd put some angle iron on the bottom to prolong the life of the 'plow' but otherwise this should work with my mid-size all-wheel drive SUV, even on my gravel lane. Not sure if it would have helped a couple of weeks ago with the 4 & 5 ft drifts in my lane though. Had to have a guy with a tractor dig me out - saw 4 distinct layers of hard wind-packed snow.

Hi. I really love your invention and would like to make one of my own. However, I don't think my Toyota Sienna has a place to hook uo the shorter chains. It only has the seat hooks. Do you have any suggestions? Also what is the length of each of the two sets of chain? Ever worried you're going to back into something like a curb and break something? I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Greg

Without seeing it I wouldn't know. The chains I use are light enough that if I hit something solid it will just break a chain. As far as curbs believe it or not it just rides up over them as long as I hit them on a bit of an angle
