Continuing the Seiko heritage of innovation and design evolution, Prospex introduce a new diver’s watch, evolved from a combination of two popular Seiko designs.
Nicknamed by fans for their unique case shapes, the ‘Samurai’ and ‘Shogun’ designs are popular Seiko models which are angular in shape and instantly recognisable. The new ‘Samurai’ inspired 4R Diver hybrid takes elements from both heritage designs, as well as adding modernised features.
Aesthetically, the new model takes the steep angled lugs of the Shogun, razor-sharp as if modelled by a Samurai sword, and echoes the crown design of the Samurai model with the straight contours of both blueprints.
In terms of size, this piece has a compact 41.7mm diameter case and slim design for comfortable wearability. It has new sharp design features such as a date window at 4.5 o’clock, pointed hands, and a newly shaped bracelet.
Compliant with the recognised ISO standard for professional diving watches, it features an in-house 4R35 movement with a power reserve of 40 hours.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

I’ve got this watch (black) arriving in the post tomorrow, can’t wait, finally a smaller samurai, love it, I like the date window but it would be better at 6, lose the top bit of the 6 index and put it there for proper symmetry. If I was to by the red one I’d definitely want matching colour date wheel. Great video, thanks 👍🏻

Attractive and unique watches (especially the red), but rather pricey for 4R, hardlex and stamped clasp in my opinion! I'd pick one up if closer to £400

I like it. Think I'd be a buyer if they also borrowed the titanium construction from the Shogun. My vote is the black one and then grt crazy and mod it with the red bezel 😁

I prefer 60 click myself but I guess you have to line up the bezel pip with greater accuracy with one
I would have named it Shizoku if i am going to maintain the name starting with an 'S'....after all Shizoku is a terminology being given to former samurais. They are a different breed of Japanese warriors.

Looks good on a 7.5 inch wrist I'm guessing you must be a lot bigger then George, I have you friend who always struggles with the bracelet length being to short
Not sure on this one, seems a bit bland and like they've lacked creativity, good to see the date the right way up but wish they'd use better movements for the price points considering you can get a shogun for a few bucks more 😎👍

Red one. We all own a dozen black watches guys- for £500 get the red- better still buy both and swap the bezels for BB Heritage vibes 👍

Do you not like nick names for watches @dhhjsjzjzjjhsjsjh . Seiko and Rolex are two brands which are known for it, After all if I said do you have a Rolex 16610LV you may not have any idea what I'm on about but if I said do you have a Rolex Kermit I dare say you would. So I don't mind them myself

Yeah the others are 43 and 43,7mm so what you say does make sense but I have to go with what Seiko sent out in their press paper work
