Colin Cowherd and Will Blackmon discuss whether or not Lamar gets enough credit for Baltimore’s success, plus if Russell Wilson is still a Hall of Famer after being benched by the Denver Broncos. The idea that next year Rodgers will solve the Jets is the same thinking that he would've solved their issues this year because of his demands (suggestions/requests/fill in your own euphemism for leverage here) + a lot we may not even know helped create this mess (that and a really poor offensive line, but why didn't they address that?). And when you lose your starting QB on the first drive of the season, you have EVERY opportunity to sign another QB that MAY be a better option than your 3rd stringer (who now has become your 2nd stringer) and your 2nd stringer who you benched twice last year and is now your starting QB. They could've have had a guy signed literally before halftime of week 1. And they could've been in a MUCH better position than 5-11 with weekly disfunction and drama. So why didn't they? Didn't want to tick off Aaron? You don't trash your season to not tick off a guy who's not even playing (and why do we believe anything Aaron says at this point?).

    This needs to stop. Seattle had a bottom 10 defense Russell's last 5 years in Seattle. I watched every Seattle game. Run the ball on first, run the ball on second, ok Russ, 3rd and 14. Go make it happen and he did! You don't throw for 43000 yards, 330 plus tds, and rush for 5500 yards and 29 tds by being "icing on the cake". Meanwhile, other teams just beat us with 4 yard runs, and 8 yard passes. Gashed to death cuz the defense was terrible the second half of Russell's tenure in Seattle.

  • @BohotTheRobot

    @BohotTheRobot

    They were only bottom 10 once but did fall out of the top 10 which I think kinda shows that it wasn't the LoB anymore. And Russ was consistently throwing 30+ TDs with less than 10 Ints every year with a mostly sub par Offensive Line the entire time. So yeah, Russ did carry the team after a certain point just not when they won the super bowl and somehow Colin still thinks it's correct to hold that against him.

    It is false to say that when Russ cooked his team didn’t do well. Not only did his team perform well, he broke personal highs and records. But he only got to cook for 8 games of 2020. That was it. The other seasons, he threw fewer than 500 attempts. When Russ was cooking in Seattle and was winning: 6-2 to start 2020. He only got to cook for half a season. His record over his last five seasons in Seattle with no Beast Mode and no LoB: 2017: 9-7 (FK Blair Walsh wrecked it) 2018: 10-6 2019: 11-5 2020: 12-4, NFCw Title 2021: 6-8 (injured, healthy for 9 games) The more the offense centered on Russ, the more games they won! He began 2021 leading the league in passing before being injured. In all five seasons, Russ was a legitimate MVP candidate and dominating the league in passing. The 2017 and 2018 seasons were his two most efficient years. He threw the ball about 55-60 times between those years. Most importantly, Pete Carroll has flatly rejected the notion that Russ wasn’t the biggest piece of the puzzle. He was no “icing.” I wonder what Russ did to Colin to make him turn on Russ.

    I really think people need to get away from the “old way” of thinking that a football player should only eat, breathe and live football. There’s nothing wrong with a player doing commercials or having outside interest it’s often said that the NFL is a “business” why should the players also be a business? A football player doing a commercial doesn’t now make them a bad football player. Patrick Mahomes does plenty of commercials, and he just won a Super Bowl.

Hes not making any soecial throws, the plays he improvises in could be avoided by making the correct read presnap and getting in the right play and not being forced to off design. Many things are why the ravens have the record they donthis year but lamar is inly about 15% of that. The defense/st is 70% and 15% is just pure depth of position.

    I mean it was from an explosive Miami team at the time, and notice how ever since then the Broncos have gotten better? Now granted, they hadn't been great the last couple weeks, but I feel that has more to do with Russ than Paton. Dude put in work in New Orleans and was constantly a playoff caliber team once he got a good defense. The only thing I didn't like about Payton in New Orleans was he would have moments where he'd get too dsmn cute with his plays. It's part of what caused Thomas to first get hurt. Saints don't have much different of a team, and look at how they are now with Dennis Allen at the helm.

    All cap! They didn’t bring in Flacco because there’s no future with him. They’re committed fully to Arod. Lastly, they could’ve easily have thought activating Arod so that he could be around the team in the facilities with no limitations would help with morale and focus since the team is struggling. Arod being on the practice field watching you, with you knowing the franchise is completely invested in him, makes you work harder… they are simply allowing Aaron to interact and bond with his teammates in hopes to build something going into next year. Stop spinning it yo!

    Why are so many people hating on Sean Payton? Guys an offensive genius, he has won a Super Bowl, not many coaches can say that, and the saints set offensive records while him and Brees were there? Sean Payton has turned around the broncos in 1 year from what they had with Hackett, they were even in the talk of a playoff contender. Russ is done, he’s not very good! Worst trade ever! 25 teams in the league would jump for joy if they had Sean Payton as their head coach. Should you go back to Hackett?

Colin, were you even watching? It took you eleven years to figure this out? But just 3 weeks ago, Seattle did not get enough for this superstar and won the superbowl for Seattle? Substantiate this claim. Lamar is not bragged upon. He has been getting negatively criticized since high school. College coaches didn’t want him to be quarterback. He was asked to switch positions. He was invited to the green room and was rescued in the first round by the Ravens. He was lambasted by media and fans since day one ~ He’s a running back, he can’t throw, he will get hurt, he’ll never be a franchise quarterback. Man you gotta be trolling. Or you are just finding out about Lamar…. Even though his success are STILL questioned. Most bragged about. Where and how? I need receipts and not your feelings. Please show me where the media has been glazing Lamar or bragging about him? Where?

Hes a ball hog (just like JoshA) who cant decide quick enough who to throw the ball to so he runs with it. Either the other teams defense double teamed Andrews (now out for the season) or no1 can get open in time before Lamar starts running with the ball. Lamar wants to be the "STAR" of the team at all times just like TyreekH.

    You do realize that lamar has to do it all himself, and if he was really selfish his RB wouldn't be 5th in NFL in rushing TDs with 12, 10 of those 12 came from inside the 5 yard line. He also has 694 yards for 27th in the NFL for Rushing yards. Ravens are the only team in the top PPG without a player with 1000 all purpose yards. Every other team has a WR and a RB with over 1000 all purpose yards, lamar has no playmakers so he makes plays, gets the ball inside the 10 then hands it off to his RBs
