As a fellow Australian , I love Americans doing outrageous Australian accents. It's always hilarious and a little bit too close for comfort sometimes! Strangley no-one ever comments on British actors doing terrible American accents in film and TV roles and pretending it sound authentic (eg Damian Lewis)

Correction: if she was loud enough without a microphone to be heard (per the joke) you would still hear her after the lights went out.

When I saw the film Network back in the 70's I didn't fully understand the satire but as the decades rolled along and Fox News drifted away from being a news organisation and more about sensationalism directed at attracting ratings I saw how prophetic the film was. I doubt Paddy Cheyefsky could have dreamed up a Tucker Carlson, a Lou Dobbs, a Sean Hannity and thought: No one is going to believe anything so ridiculous. The GOP and the Republican party have become a dark satire that some future generation will look back at a shake their heads in utter disbelief that these individuals actually existed. They are like mythical trolls who lurk under bridges and wait for unsuspecting travellers. But there is no point trying to shame that which has no shame. They are fully aware of the effect they've had and their place in history as traitors is secure. There is no act of contrition they can perform to redeem themselves. If they had any morals they would have resigned from the network years ago. But the Laura Ingrahams and Maria Bartiromos have sold their soul to the Big Lie and supplicate themselves at the alter of Trump.

The only thing better than Seth and a Closer Look, is when he has a complete breakdown on tv.

Since you were referring to the look that Hannity gave- "loser look" definitely describes it! LOL!

All right, I've never made this kind of declaration before, because they're all pretty good, but that was the best Closer Look ever. It had what may be the best Wally moment ever, a new Tucker bit, and Seth's reading both sides of the Murdoch deposition reminded me of the Gollum/Smeagol debate in The Two Towers. All that, plus two aggressively long references to songs that were big when I was in high school as the cherry on top. Basically the only things we didn't get were a visit from the sea captain and/or Giuliani's bagel-eating neighbor.

I'm glad we are blasting this compas app... it needed to be said. Thanks, Seth.
