So, at the risk of adding to the addiction, Kill Team is WAY more affordable, since each Kill Team is only around 10 or 12 models. It's how I got back into the model side of things recently.

If you'd like a bit of an overview of 40k lore, i might suggest Bricky's videos on the factions of 40k explained and the space marines legions explained videos. They should help fill in some gaps as well as be good for a laugh or two. Stay Awesome Man!

The Templin Institute do really good entry level introductions, their Imperium of Man and Necron Dynasties vids stand out in memory the most but they do have many more. Luetin09 is fantastic if you want a deep dive - start with his full beginner's guide video and go where you want from there. Majorkill is great shorter form content, but his humour isn't for everyone, so he could be great for you or maybe not. So those small robot bug things are called scarabs and are used as engineers where they have deconstruction beams underneath where they can disassemble anything on a molecular level and then store said material inside of them, in which they can regurgitate said matter into useable components such as to repair damaged necroms or as a way to build say a bridge out of nothing or can be used to disassemble its targets

The Chainsword is iconic but its used more as a psychological weapon when used by space marines - if we take the rules for chainsawed weapons the table top RPGs that is e.g they do not gain the full benefit of the super human strength of a space marine as its the motorized teeth tearing through flesh and bone and the user just need to push it into their foes, this makes it more useful for normal humans then it does space marines as if they used their full force they would simply send the foes flying, granted that would still wound if not outright kill most normal foes but then you might as well just use the Astarte Knife. now in TTRPG terms this means the even a "lvl 1" Space marine loses around 10 points of damage per hit in melee which is a lot in a system were most human characters have around 13-16 HP at that level XD

I have not seen a Gothic Armada 2 cinematics, rogue trailer and fan made cinematics, like "Inquisitor" or "death of hope" for example, but the last one is not completed.

i'm not into the tabletop games, i just enjoy the trailers for glimps of the lore. but from what i understood from the lore so far, regarding the last trailer: that worthless guardswomen was spouting a lot of heresy in front of a sister of battle. and that she didn't immediatly execute her, makes her a heretic as well, doesn't it?

I read a story where the orks did use snipers. It was a short story, and it was pretty crazy.

If you're a fan of RTS I would highly recommend Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, the Soulstorm expansion in particular as it has the most factions and is the base for some of the best mods ever made like Ultimate Apocalypse and Unification. You can find the GOTY edition for dirt cheap on most Steam key sites, I got it for 3 dollars. It's one of the best games for beginners of the franchise too.

Possibly play through of Ultramarine 2? purge those bug for the emperor!
