The Alpha Legion is so secretive and confusing that even Tzeentch is totally confused. Everyone is basically Alpharius, posing as Omegon, who is posing as Alpharius, who thinks he is Omegon but is a sleeper Agent faking Alpharius, who is actually Omegon, who is posing as Alpharius, but that's also a lie in the end. there is another Bricky Video about the Timeline of 40K for deeper Lore.

The space marines of a legion are not true " sons " of their primarchs. They just give them a new organ called a " gene-seed " that gives them the same " traits " as their primarchs. Like Bricky said, if a primarch really loves to go fast, his " sons " will also want to go fast. They're all mini versions of their primarchs, more or less

Dude, your accent makes me giggle so much. Great reaction my guy. I love collecting minis to build and paint, but I don't play the game much. I took a chapter that exists in the lore, but has barely been written about, and expanded the lore to make it my own. My chapter is called the Red Hunters. In the lore, they are a codex compliant space marine chapter believed to have been created during the 2nd founding. They have a very close relationship with the Inquisition and specialize in fighting Chaos, specifically Heretic Astartes. Here is my lore for them: During and following the Horus Heresy, the imperium had to deal with Marines that seemed to be loyalists amongst traitors. Maybe a squad or company from a traitor legion that were able to escape their traitorous brethren. Maybe a company or squad from a loyalist chapter declared for the warmaster, and a small loyal group kills them before turning themselves in. It was to address this issue that the form and function of the inquisition began to take shape. Marines that were cleared of being heretics were put together into a task force known as the Red Hunters. They were tasked with hunting heretics and traitors as recompense for not being able to prevent the fall of their brothers. Due to this chapter’s intimate knowledge and extensive contact with Chaos, it was decided that they would not receive new Marines. The chapter's numbers dwindled as attrition took its toll. Following the disastrous 21st “Cursed” founding, the inquisition decided to revitalize the chapter so that they could take a crusade to track down and exterminate any cursed chapters that betrayed the imperium. So, during the 22nd founding, the Red Hunters used unknown geneseed to bring their numbers back to that of full chapter strength. They were also supplied Primaris Marines in the closing days of the 41st Millennium.

My favorite legion is definitely the Emperor's Children. I love their purple and gold or pink and black colors, I like their lore, and I think noise marines are incredibly cool. I also like how they have fallen to absolutely horrible and corrupted people. My favorite Emperor's Children moment was during the seige of Terra. While the rest of the traitor legions were doing useful things like attacking the palace of the Emperor, the Emperor's Children were off killing civilians and turning their remains into drugs. That, and there fact that their warcry is still "For the emperor" are absolutely hilarious to me.

When I started playing 40K, I wanted to play Space Marines because I loved Dawn of War has a kid. I started thinking Raven Guard because I always play stealth in RPGs, but when I started reading more about the lore I fell in love with the Dark Angels. And this was way before they revealed the Lion's mini. I still play Dark Angels and it was definitely the correct choice for me. Though I also really like Blood Angels and Raven Guard for the Loyalists. If I ever make a Chaos Marine army, I would probabely play either Iron Warriors or Night Lords.

47:56 These were just original legions, there are even more chapters (or warbands for chaos) that split off from the original ones, like the Black Templars Bricky mentioned in the begining. They maintain similarities with the legion they succeeded (lore-wise) but have different color schemes and there are dozens of them. ....and you can just make up your own if you want when creating your army. Personally i have Alpha legion army and Death Spectres (Successor chapter of Ravenguard, with a grim reaper theme) If you would like to paint your own, i would recommend keeping it simple in the begining. Don't go for some overly complex models with ton of details. Basic squad of "Primaris Intercessors" or "Chaos Space Marines Legionaries" will be just fine for your first project. Keep in mind you will have to not just pain them, but assemble them too (don't use superglue, its a nightmare to work with) and if you would like to get models to actually play the tabletop with, look for "combat patrol" sets. Its like a discounted starter set which will get you enough models for the lowest tier army (cca 500 points) and it has a reasonable price for beginner. Model combination there might not be perfect and experienced players like to complain about theese sets, but its good enough for you to start learning the game and you can just build up from there. Also the assembly in these sets is more streamlined. If you decide to give this hobby a try, don't rush it and take your time. this is not a sprint. Check some guides on how to paint and make models (for painting i would recommend "Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy". its a YT channel made by guy who used to do miniatures for Warhammer's official box art, so he knows his stuff), ask around in your local store.... do your homework. Best of luck to your and give it a try. its worth it, even just to learn something new and have few nice display pieces you made yourself on a shelf. They don't have to be perfect, but they will be yours and there won't be any other like them in the whole world.....

If you want something to watch involving Warhammer fantasy, which is the predecessor to Warhammer 40k, then I think a great way to get the feel for the setting and factions for Warhammer fantasy would be all of the trailers for the game Total War: Warhammer 1-3. Channel "your friend, the skeleton" puts them all together whenever a new one comes out so I'd recommend that. a bit long, so maybe do it in parts if you don't want to be sitting for 2 hours. Some background info on Warhammer fantasy. fantasy came out in 1983 as a medieval fantasy style table top war game, they later wanted to do a sci-fi fantasy version of it and made 40k in 1987. It originally was part of the same universe but after about 2 decades they decided to go in different directions. Due to low sales because 40k became so much more popular, they decided to canonically end fantasy in a series of books called "The End Times" in 2015, and launched a newer version of fantasy called "Age of Sigmar" which culled a bunch of the models and factions and made it more 40k-esque. however, because the end times was poorly received (people don't really like it when you kill their favorite characters), they later launched a classic version called "The Old World" (2024) which takes place before the end times.

Yeah Salamanders care about human lives a lot and a large part of that comes from the fact that they are actually allowed to interact with their families and mortals in general. Most Astartes chapters see themselves as above and beyond regular humanity, some being more nasty about it than others. Salamanders meanwhile maintain that human connection and remember what they are Really fighting for, other humans.

The Iron Warriors my prefered legion because of how much I relate to them. They have had it raw since the beginning, the Emperor would use the various legions personally leading them at times during the Great Crusade. But one of them, would be his preference. They had no official name yet, as their Father, Perturabo, had not been found and they come into their own. But due to their successful conquests, they won favour with the Emperor and rewarded with schematics and the rare privalege and honour to make their own versions of Powered armour that was more advanced and allowed for greater specializations. But this was also a double edged sword. Due to their success, other Legions and those whom would be reunited with their primarches would look to the Iron Warriors with oppertunity. And often requested numbers of their legions to accompany them. And be used as fodder. Their reputation was one of ruthless siege warfare. And taking the brunt of casualities. Leading to their legions first name. "The corpse grinders." And never recieving any rewards, praise or thanks by other legions. No statues, no military honours. Just tools to be discarded and used. On worlds where their Legion personally took control of, it was often given to other Legions to be administered or to the Mechanicus, was too valuable for trade or agriculture, and given to the Administratum. Rather then theirs rewarded by right of Conquest. And the other legions would mock and make fun of the "Corpse Grinders" saying they'd be willing to throw ten thousand astartes to a climb a wall just so one of them can be thanked. And their reports were always brutal, honest. Straight to the point. And it made them look like one of the best and worst legions. For they had the rare 100% success ratio of conquests and battles. But also the highest casualities in the Imperium. When Perturabo was finally united with his Legion, near to the end of the of the Grand Crusade. He was upset with his Legion, how everyone looked down to him and his sons. Given the toughest jobs in the Imperium, where previous legions failed, they were sent in. And they always got the job done. No matter how many casualities it took. Their performance was seen as abysmal and incompetent. Half of his legions forces were busy in garrison duties for other Legions, since that legion was too stretched out or couldnt be bothered or serving with other Legions. And had to come back to meet their Father. And he declared Decimation. 1/10 one outta ten men. They drew straws. 9/10 had to beat the one to death with fist and boot. As punishment. They had a rare privalge shared with the Imperial Fists and Ultramarines. Their gene seed to be very remarkably stable and can be well implanted into hosts of older men, allowing for sizable volumes more of recruits. Perturabo is a sad tale amongst man. He was a builder, an archecict. He wanted to build, he wanted to craft. He loved making things, not weapons of war like the role he was assigned. He wanted to build theators for plays and music, perfect cities of grand debate and discussions of politics, science, culture and music and history. To have ample amounts of food readily available so everyone can eat. He had even made musical instruments and would play them alone, to avoid anyone seeing him be so "weak". But he was an uncompromising man too. Used for warfare and building defenses, siege warfare. Grinding down his foes overtime. His first ever words spoken was to a blacksmith as a young boy. "Iron. Coal." Theres so much more to him.. But I sympathize with the Iron Warriors. Your entire career is stolen honours and being used by everyone without a simple thank you. No one caring about you, just a tool.

The Blood Angels. Sangunius is one of the best primarchs hands down, but also a very complex one. His biggest flaw, is his wrath. All primachs are still human and prone to rage, but Sanginuis.. His rage was a volcanic eruption and uncontrollable, and had to constantly wrangle and control himself. Way more then Angron. (Angron was driven to anger. Sanginuis was born with it. And Khorne wanted Sanginus, and has at first actively rejected Angron and his Legion. Its saying something when the God of murder and violence and slaughter wants your brother then you.) But he undoubtedly was a good man and often worked hard on himself to better himself, and tried very hard to be good to his brothers, and often took out considerate time away from his own conquests to help his brothers, as an excuse to just be with them. And acted as a mediator between them. He also could see into the future with pretty good clarity, always the outcomes and had found ways to get to the vision he saw. During the Heresy during the battle for Terra. He had forsaw his death at the hands of Horus and thought "Fate said I will die this day, but for now I must fight." And went on a brutal spree. Personally fighting and killing a Greater demon of Khorne, two of his demonic primarch brothers. And tons of their sons. All by himself. And was one of the best warriors and leaders for the Imperium. Sigh..

The Emperors children: Bricky isn't kidding about them using sonic weaponry. (I mean shit they have weaponized guitar's and musical instruments with official models and past index's.) But often refered as Noise Marines, because they forgoe most weapons. Not because of stupid reasons, because they mastered all forms of martial arts n combat and realize the fastest way to kill a marine is blowing out their ears and hearing, making them dizzy, repturing ear drums and basically blowing brains apart inside their skulls. They often also have big boom boxes as well, with distorted audio mixing of the screams of their victims from various tortures, and often reverse its audio to sound more distorted, or just raw audio of screams and theASMR of how they torture with skinning and flaying, and other horrible things. And gives them war gear thats nearly fully undamaged with space marines. Genetic material to make more space marines. And a body to be used for cannibalism and macabe trophies and whats left gets turnt to drugs. But often just to drugs. Not kidding. They turn people into drugs and snort them.
