This is a trailer for the announcement of the new edition of the TABLE TOP GAME. Warhammer 40k has games in many different medias, like video games. But it was originally a board, tabletop game played with miniatures and dice. This is a trailer for the release of the 10th edition, the newest one. Each new edition brings with it new characters, balances to the game statistics and rules, new stories and new advancements to the lore. They are usually followed by many new novels and books, too. A quick breakdown of the stuff in this: The Tyranid (the aliens in this video) move through space with fleets, Hive Fleets. Each fleet is massive and are given names. These are the remnants of the Leviathan fleet. The guy speaking is a Primarch called Roboute Guilliman. Primarchs are artificial sons created by the emperor, and each space marine legion is created with the DNA of these primarchs. So, the Emperor created 20 Primarchs, and from each Primarch a legion was made in their image. Guilliman is the Primarch of the Space Marine legion called Ultramarines. In this Trailer, Guilliman is pessimisticly talking about how the preachers, generals and the rest of the Imperium are delluded into thinking that they are winning, when the reality is that they are constantly losing worlds and men. Humanity is being pushed to the ropes and yet propaganda is so strong that the only ones who understand it are those on the frontlines. Warhammer lore is gigantic, so it would be ridiculous to go into more detail than this. If you ever get more interested, there is plenty of resources on youtube that give breakdowns on the setting. The youtuber called Bricky has quite a few good ones.

I maintain that the Zerg are a superior version of Tyrannid. I mean ya if Warhammer 40k Tyrannid fought StarCraft II era Zerg, it wouldn’t be much of a fight, Tyrannids would win. But over the course of a couple decades the Zerg evolve from StarCraft I Zerg to StarCraft II Zerg, one of which is significantly stronger than the other. It required all other factions to team up and the Zerg to have infighting and the interruption of a whole C’taan like entity for the Zerg to even seem at a competitive level, instead of completely dominant. If the Zerg were around as long as the Tyrannids, I wholly believe they would defeat them. More importantly is how the species work in their adaptation. Tyrannids take other DNA and then appropriate it into themselves using digestion pools, and can only change future generations. They have some sort of method of modularly adding foreign DNA sequences. The Zerg, however, do the exact opposite. The Zerg DNA is aggressive, it attacks and eats other DNA sequences, the Zerg can assimilate species by just injecting them with Zerg virus and waiting. Then they can actually use their Hivemind to trigger changes across the entire species. They can also modularly change their DNA, they just make sure it’s all Zerg DNA before they start swapping. Based off my understanding, I would conclude that Zerg DNA’s aggressiveness and Tyrannid DNA’s natural ability to welcome foreign DNA would make it so that the Tyrannids would be extra susceptible to Zerg assimilation. That means that during any conflict, the Tyrannids would not be able to take any beneficial adaptations from the Zerg, while the Zerg could do the opposite. This would make any imbalance of adaptations almost always be in Zerg favor before long. Also, Zerg Virus bombs would be extra effective. On the concept of Hiveminds, I think there is one or two possibilities. They either don’t affect each other. Or the Zerg’s interrupts the Tyrannid’s. This is because the Tyrannid Hivemind exists in the warp, a Dimension of energy and thought. The reason it impacts psychers and Chaos is because it is effectively one galaxy sized brain having one thought, hunger, it has a warp footprint equal to or greater than even one of the Chaos gods. Which are the collective thoughts of an entire galaxy. The Zerg, however, somehow run their Hivemind through a dimension of anti-energy which is called Dark Energy. It has the power to actually destroy or engage other forms of energy. If a Dark psi-blade like used by the Dark Templar hit a lightsaber, it would actually cut the lightsaber. My argument is that because the hiveminds are both run through different dimensions they wouldn’t affect one another, or, because the Warp is effectively just psychic energy, the anti-energy of the Zerg Hivemind would ruin the Tyrannid Hivemind (at least locally). If this was the case than the Zerg would only ever have to face feral Tyrannids instead of organized ones, and any and all psychers strains would be useless. TL;DR because of the way the adaptation process and hiveminds work between the two species, I would argue that Zerg are superior swarm type threats than the Tyrannids. (I have no idea how the Flood would balance, so don’t ask)

"Is this in game graphics?" killed me, I almost snorted my beer out. If you don't know, this is a trailer for a tabletop game played with 28mm miniatures. Thanks for being natural and true with reaction, that's what I'm here for.
Terminator armor is often too large and bulky to keep up with the main fleet, so they're very regularly sent in via teleportation strike like happening here at 4:50. Terminators are old tech that trade out maneuverability for extremely strong armor. If everyone else is a tank, these are the superheavy tanks.
2:32 that was freaking dope lol
2:05 the game is basically a board game, its just a trailer for a new rule set
When that teleporter homer hit the ground i was screaming! Terminators teleporting in was epic.
Psst bro, 10th edition is a game, just not a video game, so no they are not in-game graphics. The guy who made the "Astartes" series now works for games workshop and you can see his touch for sure
How many times will guilli open his eyes in that dramatic way. Lol
The trailer is for a new edition of the Tabletop wargame
Fun fact, those "big guys" you were talking about. Those guys are called Space Marine Terminators. Terminator armor, AKA, Tactical Dreadnought Armor, is essentially the best of the best in terms of personal protection you can get in the Imperiium of Man and likely the entirety of the 40K setting as of the current timeline. Hell, as of the Great Crusade which took place somewhere around 11,000 years before what you're seeing in this trailer. Terminator armor is a form of power armor so revered in the Imperium that it is treated like sacred relics. The motive systems within it give its wearer the strength to wield weapons you'd normally only find mounted on armored vehicles. Like, for instance, the standard issue. Storm Bolter + Power Fist. The Storm Bolter is a 75cal, twin linked version of your pre-primaris standard Godwyn pattern bolt rifle, which means, it's essentially 2 space marine bolt rifles bracketed together onto the same pistol grip and trigger linkage. It is capable of twice the rate of fire of a Godwyn bolter as the standard firing mode is alternating, meaning one side fires, then the next. And Terminator armor makes its wearer strong enough to practically ignore the recoil and use those things like pistols. And then there's the powerfist, which generates a molecular disruption field, causing any solid matter that intersects the field to lose cohesion. Essentially, you put on a powerfist and punch a tank with it, the second that field touches the tank's armor, it'll be as weak as tinfoil, allowing the fist to smash right through it with little to no resistance. And that is their STANDARD ARMAMENT. Terminators are an absolute nightmare. I'm a huge fan of Warhammer audiobooks and in the Horus Heresy, when it was Space Marine vs Space Marine, it was always a huge "OH SHIT, WE'RE FUCKED," moment whenever hostile astartes show up in terminator armor.
those big boys are known as Terminators their pretty much for heavy assault or defending areas, their pretty cool.
id definitely recommend WH40k 9th Edition Cinematic too!

Any "new edition" trailer and most cinematics from the main warhammer channel are for the tabletop board games.
This is for the tabletop game (the original game) and they have been producing in house animations of different styles for at least 4 years now. Some look like it's thier frist time animating and others look amazing. The new editions trailers (and killteam's) always looks good, and they tell a little of the story well also showing the frist two armies to get updated. In this case it's the generic space marines (ultramarines) getting re-sculpted terminators, a new lieutenant, and new super dreadnought at least. The other is the tyranid swarm (leviathan to be exact) it's the forth and largest war and they are offically surrounding the milky way galaxy now. They get a new big leader, a super stealth squad, re-sculped living artillery, re-sculped basic troops, and a new anti-psychic bug. If you go back a look you can see all appear at least once. Edit: space marines are also getting new weapon options, and this trailer is ment to be a teaser of new stuff and they been going in more detail on thier website. It tells "the next chapter" in the story coming in June and we get to know more this month before release but I doubt we will get more trailers.

"in-game graphics or pre-rendered?" It's a trailer for the tabletop game 10th edition, not the video game. But mostly it's always pre-rendered unless otherwise stated.
Most videos and fan made productions depict space marines as utterly unstoppable, juggernauts of war. This video is great because it finally shows Space marines not only lose, but get utterly fucked up. The Warhammer universe is filled with Apex Predators and Eldritch horrors, humanity is holding on by the skin of its teeth, even it's best warriors are being slaughtered by an almost unstoppable horde of aliens.

Ok can someone confirm for me please, is this an animated movie??? Series or just game cinematic. Nexus Piraha is the cinematic series due to stop soon. But what the hell is this??? Any help please
So, some awesome storytelling fan service, ontop of the already awesome cinematography in this trailer is: Something really cool about this cinematic and very much nested in the lore of 40k is the dissonance between what Guilliman (the main character and narrator here) is saying and what is occurring on screen and how that shows his character. Guilliman is reagent of the Imperium, not because he wants to but because of a sense of duty. He has a great disdain and sadness for the state of humanity. He abhors the religion and him repeating victory at the end while marines are dying and entire worlds are blinking red and dying- showing they're really not being victorious is very telling of his character. It's foreshadowed at the beginning. "Victory, that is what the preachers cry from the spires of their temples." He isn't saying Victory at the start- he's attributing it to the people he hates, he doesn't really believe it.
so 40k isn't a videogame, exactly, this is the trailer for the new boardgame edition
So this is just a glimpse of just how terrifying tyranids truly are, yes they tend to show a more animalistic brutality but contrary to popular beliefs, they can be extremely intelligent as well as extremely cunning so much so the hive mind operated on a conscience un fathomable to comprehend, much like the intelligence and intellect of a primarch, being able to manage and coordinate simultaneous battle fronts all the while being capable of out witting and out maneuvering their enemies, as an example a Tyranid lifeform known as a lictor, are capable of perfect camouflage and are capable of going invisible, much like a cuttlefish of squid, being able to either absorb or reflect the light or imitate their surroundings to a point where they’re practically invisible to the naked eye or even cameras and sensors would be able to pick them up as they’re capable of mimicking their environments thermal signature being invisible to both Infa red and ultraviolet sensors and the only real indication of a lictor being in your local area is the bloody mess and remains left behind, all the while being able to slip through air vents and ductwork as well as having razor sharp claws capable of ripping apart tanks like butter, that’s just one of the tyranid lifeforms you have to deal with all the while their hoards charge at you with unedind numbers

Not necessarily.... leviathan did come from below the galactic plane, thus able to cover more area, more inwards towards the heart of the Imperium. The first wave i.e. octarius sector, devastation of baal etc were just the cannon fodders so to speak. Leviathan held back a remnant of its forces with new evolved tyranids, so expect some new unseen models for the tabletop. And this new, more powerful wave is coming from below again, thus popping up in the galactic west and making its way east, trapping the heart of the Imperium in a pincer move. I like how they're treating the tyranids again. Like the true galactic threat they represent.
