Rockford fosgate punch 160x4 amp dyno old school amplifier power test 4 channel

Hi!
This time a Rockford Fosgate Punch 160x4 has been tested for output power.
I tested continuous power 4 and 2 ohms all channels driven and also dynamic power. There was almost no dynamic headroom.
Its rated 20 Watts per channel like a punch 40ix. But two punch 40ix are stronger than the 160x4.
Finally i tried to test 1 ohm dynamic, but the amp didnt pass this test because the amp delivered the same power like the 2 ohm test.
Isnt the 160X4 in great shape? :-)

Omg that amp is in perfect condition. Yea I don't remember those amps being 1 ohm stable so it doesn't surprise me it didn't pass that test.

Fun video for #FosgateFriday! I've found most RF amps put out 2x their rated power at clipping and this test seems to confirm as well. Keep up the great vids and see you on the next one

Many hear the numbers and think it’s trash. Marantz3338b 38 watts put that into scope.

That’s why marketing forces most manufacturers to print huge numbers on their amps…
Looks clean. Nice example of that amp. Do you happen to have DSM series.. Particularly the 4080dsm...? I had that in high school pushing a pair of punch dvc 12s before I upgraded to the bd1501 and power hx2s. Would he nice to see DSM stuff

As far as I know, the 4080 was the same as the 400x4 and the 4040 was the same as the 160x4. There was also a 240x4, which was between the two as far as power output.
