Ed Edd and Eddy didn't need to have an overly exaggerated plot like aliens and mythical creatures to be a great show. It was fun to watch kids be kids and the adventures that came from it.

EspioKaisr The thing is, writers a lot of times don't really know how to make an interesting story out of any daily situation especially in kid shows. They rely on bizzare plots that feel completely out of place and random for the sake of being random. That's why Loud House is popular now. The characters and situations are just as relatable as the kids and young adults that watch them.

Well, I am currently writing sort of a graphic novel-type comic story, in which my character, Annoying Leah Lion (who is based on my little sister) falls into Ed Edd n' Eddy's Purgatory (remember that theory) and the Eds guide her through the Circles of Hell to try and get her home. Each circle is represented by a different cartoon conspiracy theory, and I chose ones that 1. fit the description of whatever circle, according to Dante's Divine Comedy and 2. provided a good adventure for Annoying Leah Lion and the Eds. I think for the most part I like drawing the four protagonists in the forms of Gen-4 My Little Ponies, South Park characters, Care Bears, etc.

@@isobelmiller7464 Sounds pretty interesting. Makes sense the Eds would be the main supporting characters for a cartoon theory inspired crossover, considering Ed Edd n' Eddy as a whole is infamous for its fanbase's speculations about it. As for me, I already have an Ed Edd n' Eddy fanseries up that I'm still making tons of artwork and writing for. It's a science fiction alternate universe called "Rétro Future" that's inspired by the Y2K, Frutiger Aero and Dreamcore aesthetics, where there's a parallel Cyberspace dimension and stuff. I also plan to have my OC in there, but I haven't gotten to that part of the main fanfic series for it yet.

The boomerang thing: For Rolf it turned him into an opera singer because Rolf is a farmer, since opera is seen as incredibly high-brow and high culture (something Rolf is very much not). For Double D, he gets the personality of basically a 60s-70s hippy/nudist because he's such a law-abiding, uptight, anxious character.

For Rolf and the boomerang, I think it's supposed to be that the uncultured Rolf who still behaves as if he's in his old village despite his apparent wealth (remember, he spent $20 at Kevin's garage sale like it was nothing despite haggling over produce) is now singing arias from opera, which is among the most cultured activities one could partake in.

I never realized how much I loved EEnE until it ended back in 2009 (oh my god, it's been 8 years since then?!) My all time favorite episode has to be "An Ed is Born". The visual slapstick and the characters' reactions and expressions were so good that I was cracking up just watching the clips in this review. I enjoyed this episode so much as a kid that I got out my own video camera and taped the episode when it was on TV once, just so I could rewatch it whenever I wanted. I made a home video of an episode that was literally a home video! Home video-ception!

My opinion on how the Eds got stuck in Jonny's wall: I took bits and pieces from all three Eds's stories, and made it how they got in there in the first place. They were making a Jawbreaker Bank Scam, but suddenly, the Kankers came out of nowhere and started harassing the Eds. They then accidentally went inside Jonny's wall through a hole, and that's how they got in there.

Fun fact I actually really did enjoy the Episode the day the Ed Stood Still. The design of Ed’s monster costume was very unique and had actually scared me a little when I was a kid. and they nailed all the classic monster tropes, this also makes me think that if Ed did dress up as a monster he would actually be able to survive in the wild. If he’s capable of acting like a monster, with the bizarre super human abilities to cause extreme wanton destruction, he’s able to act like a wild animal. Also I’m sorta theorizing that Ed may actually be the product of a military experiment. Possibly being a descendant of a super soldier experiment. Just a theory though.

The Day the Ed Stood Still actually traumatized me as a kid. Like the suspense of the monster's POV, the sounds the monster makes, The monster coming right the fuck out of nowhere, and the monster's reveal. I remember watching it at my daycare once and I remember that all of my friends were terrified of Edzilla. When I saw the monster's reveal, In my head, I was like, "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HELL IS THAT?!! AN ABOMINATION CREATED BY HEXXUS FROM FERNGULLY?!!" Overall, now that I'm a grown up I thought it was an excellent episode. You've made a great pick on this episode and tbh, That episode was pretty dark. They kinda went overboard scaring the kids as well as the children watching this show.

One of my favorite later seasons is the Episode were the Edd's along with half of the Cast places a bet where the next day of school they can't break back to their old habits. Kevin can't say dork, Eddy can't shout, Rolf goes Vegetarian, it's pretty hilarious seeing them trying their hardest not to lose the bet. The only thing that would've made this episode even better if Nazz, Sarah and Jimmy could get involve with the bet, or mostly Sarah. I would love to see her trying not to yell and or not beat up anyone that makes her angry.

I think it's because since Double D or any of the classmates set a rule on how the Bet will go, besides do not revert to your old habits, Eddy had plenty of opportunity to do however he wants so long as he doesn't shout. Technically Kevin could've beaten up Eddy, but assuming because it's school hour he can't or else he might get sent to the principle's office. Plus i would like to see what kind of bet Jimmy would have to do if he volunteered and seeing Sarah being quiet as eddy would be very satisfying. (I think we can all guess what Nazz's bet might be)

I personally wanna give honorable mention to See No Ed, as it tackles a subject that most of us have probably considered while watching; what if the Eds themselves weren't around, but their influence affected the rest of the cast? When the Eds seemingly go missing after Kevin contemplates them wrecking the mood of their lane-side skateboarding, the other kids of the cul-de-sac at first party over their greatest annoyances seemingly disappearing for good, only for clues to start popping up as to what may have become of em. I won't spoil the ending (even though admittedly the episode is at least over a decade old by now...), but it does highlight parts about some characters not seen before. Most notably, Kevin's apparent and deep paranoia for Eddy and his various schemes. I sense the main reason it wasn't in the video was likely that Every Which Way But Ed did the concept in a more creative direction. And I can respect that, it's a really good Season 5 episode. Plus, one of the highlights is seeing the kids outside being just fodder for various scams.

Just rewatching these episodes brings a tear to my eye. I sure miss the days i sat in front of a fat TV watching Ed Edd n Eddy. I grew up with it in norwegian and sadly..i cannot buy it anywhere on DVD. So all i can do is watch them in English. Admittingly the english version is better but i miss the times i could see it in my own language.

I forget what the episode was called, but the one where the Kankers move their trailer into Eddy's front yard for a "holiday", I think has some of the best Ed moments ever. Just so many quotable lines and moments, like when Ed berates Eddy for not making a good enough wreckage of Rolf's tractor.

Who, What, Where Ed feels like one of those ridiculous quests you'd play in video games, a simple idea for an adventure on paper, only to find out it has a long and elaborate process to reach the end. Also, when the Ed's are being chased by bees, I can't believe you didn't use an Atop the Fourth Wall joke, Jem. "Bees, my god."

*An Ed is Born* also has great foreshadowing for Bro's abuse. "No more beating up little Eddy" becomes an _ouch_ line once you've seen the movie and understand how bad their relationship really is. *Dawn of the Eds* reminds me of PPG's Best Rainy Day Adventure Ever. Kids creating an adventure of their own using their imagination. Now I believe the latter is better than the former but I get a warm, fuzzy feeling with both. No monsters, scams, or villains. Just pure playtime. *The Day The Ed Still Stood* actually made me understand Sarah's exasperation with Ed at times. Now that doesn't make her behavior _acceptable_ towards him, but it did make me "get her" more, because Ed really can be unbelievably destructive! *A Glass of Warm Ed* reminds me how much more of a break the Eds got in the first season. In Dawn of the Eds, they just come home for dinner, dragging Ed along. They actually defeat Sarah in Sir-Ed-a-Lot and in Flea Bitten Ed, they're on top of the roof watching TV while the other kids drown in bunnies. *Once Upon an Ed* again reminds me of the PPG's Bare Facts, only here, I find the _former_ better and the latter a bit annoying. Bubbles' version was clearly the funniest though, as was Ed's with the Attack on Titan Kanker Sisters. *Who, What, Where, Ed* is another episode that doesn't go out of its way to humiliate the Eds too badly. They don't even scam anybody. They just want an egg for breakfast. And all they lose is the _egg._ Nothing else. The kids remain fair with their trades. *Know It All Ed* is the start of a very much improved and classic season, Season 2. The Kankers are used much better, the scam is memorable, there's great self-deprecating humor towards Canadians when the show is Canadian, and the characters are much sharper in characterization compared to the first season. *Hand Me Down Ed* takes that dumb 'cursed phone' plot and does everything a million times better. If the Eds are gonna dabble in the supernatural and unexplained, make it more like the boomerang curse and less like the phone curse. It's not an Idiot Plot because the boomerang has a specific amnesiac effect once you stop holding it. So they wouldn't _know_ it's cursed. And the out-of-character behavior is explained by the boomerang, not poor writing. Eh, *Every Which Way But Ed* feels like a lesser's man's One Plus One Equals Ed, but let's be honest, you're just _not_ gonna top that one and I know that wasn't the episode's intention. It's really fun learning these little tidbits about the cul-de-sac kids in the flashbacks and I do love how the visual medium/fourth wall is completely obliterated just like in the classic season 2 episode.

Jem Reviews: For Rolf I always assumed the boomerang was making him more cultured. How he is normally is uncultured (Not that it's a bad thing) and talks about himself in third person, and talks about his homeland and anything. So yeah, I always assumed it was meant to make him more cultured. But, that's just me.

Dawn of the Eds is my number one favorite episode of Ed, Edd, n Eddy. It was so cool how old they wanted to go see a scary sci-fi movie and went and said it wasn't fair that he was an old enough to see it, double the points out that they would be able to see it on TV in a year in which air responded with, "yeah. With all the good stuff cut out* which is very true about most killer movies seeing on TV. If ever there's a scary movie on TV they cut out some of the good stuff which kind of sucks

Jem Reviews it's a very good anime that takes place in a would where people fight these giant humanoids called Titans. Anywho, I bet we can be agree that, in Hand Me Down Ed, if Marie was there seeing Double D doing a strip tease in the middle of the caul-de-sac, I think she would first throw up rainbows and the "take him" right there and now on the spot.

I guess with Rolf, you could argue that it might have to do with social classes. Like Rolf is a farm boy which is a rather common country-based working class, but the boomerang basically makes him sing like some type of opera singer, which I guess is more associated with high-class arts or something.
