I still can't believe ed edd n eddy predicted shipping culture

I feel like at the ending both May and Double D could have a small flame for each other. One small act of kindness can brighten up anyones day or life. Also after summers of the Cankers being rejected so much (not counting the reverse psychology episode) May finally did get an Ed may not of been her assigned Ed but was the best one for her to end up in my mind.

Funny story: By comparing them with multiple studies in the psychology of courtship and relationships, and setting them against the National Domestic Violence Hotline guidelines, almost everyone's ships are considered horribly abusive save for one: Edd and May. In fact, they are the only combination that does not result in a severe level of concern in the NDVH, making them the only healthy relationship that could spawn from any of the characters pairing off.

There's a good possibility that they would fall for each other again in the theoretical future because of the following factors: -Edd is the most empathic of the eds, and May is actually nice to other people when her sisters aren't around, easily making her the nicest of the three. When you remove all the eds and all the kankers from their groups, these two are the most compatible combination even ignoring the romance events of this episode. -May is scientifically intelligent, as shown when she scolded Eddy for making a hazardous chemical mixture. In fact, she is the only one in the entire cul-de-sac besides Edd who shares that quality. In several episodes, Edd is excitedly conducting experiments with disinterested assistance from others, like when he had a very bored Ed drop a bowling ball at the same time as a marble to study gravity. Simply being an intelligent lab partner for him could win him over. -Edd is a neat freak, and this is shown in almost every episode. It's possible that May is too, because at the very least, she is the cleanest of the 3 kankers; she is the only one who has white teeth. That must be hard to maintain in a trailer dump, so she evidently puts a lot of effort into it. She is also the only one of the 3 with straight hair, showing that she definitely keeps it clean and brushed. She cares about her hygiene at least as much as Nazz does. Also, look how neatly organized her locker is when they look inside -This episode shows that she has motives beyond bullying for the eds. It's true that the one she wanted was Ed, but it still shows that she seeks genuine companionship unlike her malevolent sisters. This paired with Edd's scientific loneliness would perhaps make her desire something further than friendship if he befriended her for research assistance.

Rolf is one of my favorite characters, next to the Eds.

This is my favorite episode of the show. It actually makes the idea of Cupid look creepy. Also, this Rolf at his absolute best. This episode also probably had the best slapstick in any episode. Also, when everyone gets splashed back to normal, their sudden change in expression is the type of humor I love the most. Quick changes in facial expressions like that make me laugh the most.

I love Rolf in this episode!

Hanky Panky Hullabaloo is the best EEnE holiday special in my opinion. Sprite influence or not, May would have been better for Edd than Marie in a few ways. And of course, Rolf's role is definitely the best part.

May is legit adorable in this special

This is why this is my favorite Valentine special of all time. It actually went into deeper detail on the holiday in a subtle manner instead of following the usual cliche Valentine story.

When Eddy was zapped to fall in love with Plank, they could have had Johnny say to Plank: "No, no, no! That man is not good enough for you!"

This episode was perhaps the only thing valentines related that I liked as a kid. My only regret is that I wish the show would have followed up on the ending. It would have been nice to see this arc between Edd and May. Maybe have them become a couple but have to keep it secret. There just seems like a lot of possible that could have been used

Ed waking around with a skeleton was underrated.

I consider this special the best of the three holidays specials of EEnE. Because It depicted the holiday the best out of all the other Valentine specials of other shows, and unlike the other two specials, the Eds don't get a crap ending this time.

Even so, Boo Haw Haw and Jingle Jingle Jangle were terrific specials, from Ed beating the shit out of the kids to Eddy's attempts to get presents make me deal with the endings just fine

From the time I was 9 until I was 15 my valintine tradition was to watch this, i even put it when I was a freshman in high school on a poster as a symbol for February

There is also an innuendo with Lee and Marie Kanker and an Anatomy book in the Valentine's Day Special, it would have happened during the Science Class scene.

I'm glad that you reviewed this episode. This makes me think differently about Valentine's Day now? Also, I agree that moment when Double D smiles at the Valentine is such a sweet, subtle moment.

I always thought of Sarah being the God of death.

Gotta love Rolf and Ed throughout the entire thing. I really love the mockery of Valentine's day cliches.

Somehow, to me, the scene with the picture of Double D's rear end in May's locker doesn't really make sense. I mean, I know they fell in love because of Cupid Sarah and Jimmy, but May fell in love after Double D showed her kindness, and Double D fell in love after May showed how smart she was. They're clearly not sexually attracted to each other.

I have just recently found your channel and I love it.

He's been attracted to her before in "Boys Will Be Eds" episode, but he seemed very confused by it. I at least assume Ed is more afraid of the feelings girls _give him_ then anything else, so he acts the way he does to avoid feeling that way. Ed's too dull and naive to actually understand attraction consistently or process it, so he wants to avoid it. That, and the way his Mom, Sarah, and the Kankers treat Ed probably don't help. It's all a bit too complicated for Ed, basically.

I think this is the ONE episode of Ed Edd n Eddy I legitimately never saw! All these clips in this review, and not one of them rings a bell! That’s a weird feeling considering this was the one show I swore I never missed an episode on.

I think there's at least one episode of the original Pokemon Anime I missed, so I can say that it happens. DVRs and more broad online viewing has only recently taken off after all, and sometimes you just miss stuff, can't check the TV, and unless you think to search the show's episode listing, you won't realize until much later. That, and it's a holiday special, and those are much harder to catch for obvious reasons...

When I first saw this episode, I just didn't like it. The whole love trope was a bit too bland for my taste and the episode was just boring. But watching it again made me realize that maybe it isn't the worst. It's self aware, Rolf was an absolute hilarious nutcase (as always) and it ended accordingly to the story in the special. Nice review, Mr. Jems

Dude that was awesome! I'd love to see ya do the other specials of the show sometime!

I was wondering if you were going to review this episode. I'm glad you did 😄 . This is literally the ONLY thing I like that's Valentine's day related. Considering that day every year, I always get horribly hurt (physically, I mean. Not love-wise), I hate Valentine's day. It's a cursed day for me, so something as funny as this episode, for me, is a breath of fresh air that I REALLY NEEDED to help me relax on that day

Double D doesn't seem like the type of person who would take a picture of May's rear end. He's a kind, honest, respectable guy, not Quagmire Jr. An intelligent guy like him would most likely want to share his life with an intelligent girl. He seems like the type who would want to search for the right woman, and not just sleep around with any big-breasted bimbo he comes across. Also, it's perfectly possible for a woman to sexually harass a man. Just watch Mr. Enter's review of Peter-Assment.

That moment of double dee smiling at mays valentine reminded me of when I got my first and only secret admirers note in my locker, never found out who sent it or if real or just someone's cruel joke but I still kept it cause it felt nice

While I know it wasn't much of a thing before the Valentine's special (given the Eddy/Lee, Edd/Marie & Ed/May combos established early-on), and they were technically just trapped in a love spell the whole time instead of naturally falling for eachother... but well, idk? With moments such as Edd cheering up May with a Valentine card after Ed rejected her, May being revealed to have a inner-passion for science, and Edd even keeping that lil love letter at the end of said special... it really gave me the vibes that something could genuinely form between them, with enough time & maturity yknow? Especially with both characters being the more "sensitive/not-always-listened-to" members of their respective groups, I can see them forming a kinship from there whilst helping the other grow in their own ways (ex. Edd helping May stand up/express herself more, May helping Edd loosen up & have fun from just studying/worrying about the rules all the time, etc.). I could go on, but yee lol all-in-all, the wholesomeness potential is just oozing if you ask me... so its def a ship I feel could use more love & support imo

The only good joke in this episode was when Rolf squeezed lemon juice into his eyes and then handed the Jimmy and Sara fairies asses to them.

It’s one of the best episode specials. And extremely entertaining.

Awesome video a real 05/10. The minus 5 for not appropriating that scene with the bag mask and Double D dunk.

This is my second favorite episode of ed,edd n eddy after the eds are coming!!! Aside from double d and may falling in love with each other In this episode the eds transform the most delicate holiday of the year into one of the most chaotic school days ever!!! The make a mess in the hallway,an explosion in the chemistry class,playing Tarzan in gym,flooding the art class with a tsunami of black ink,having the eds and the kankers investigate double d's and may's lockers,a food fight with the eds vs the kankers, and Rolf taking down cuped jimmy and Sarah and turning everyone back to normal,and ending his role by saying "the harsh realities of your misareble lives has been restored! Thank you!" All of this stuff is what makes this episode SOOOOOOOOOO FUCKING AMAZING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!

While I have issues with EEnE's Christmas and Halloween specials, they got it right with this Valentines Special!

As one of those "bitter singles", I tend to not dwell on me not having a partner. It might not help my lack of self-confidence but at least I'm not groaning or complaining that I'm lonely.

May is actually my favorite of the Kanker sisters because I genuine believe she wants to be liked or loved. She's only mean to everyone else because her sisters are and she's just trying to fit in. I think that's why Double D finds it more easier to talk to her than the others.

The shit Rolf does in this episode is something I would do.

There's one adult joke you missed in this episode, and that's the fact that Rolf was able to see Cupid Jimmy and Sarah with lemons. LEMONS!

Being someone who even as a kid never liked Valentine's Day just as much as I do as a adult. (From knowing the shallow marketing stance not a bitter single stance. I'm not single.) This is one I really liked, unlike the other valentines day specials I saw as a kid. My least favorite one is the Fairly Odd Parents one where Timmy is forced to be with his stalker. In this it pokes at everybody even me and i love it

Hey Jem, I have a suggestion. I love your vids but I think something that might help your channel a bit is reviewing content made by viewers. For instance, I really want you to review my first 10 chapters of a pokèmon story I'm currently writing. I'd also like to see you rate my chapters on a scale from 1-10 and ranking them worst to first. My personal favorite is chapter 10, "The Turn", where the fictional and cool version of me, Tyce Batrè, going through a depression spiral after losing the pokèmon closest to him, similar to what I've been going through since 6 months old with my mother kicking my father out, moving away from my closest friends and family, family deaths, pet deaths, and bullying. I think I did it well but I want advice from you to see how I can make it better. In order for you to see it though, I need your email so I can send the google document to you.

Hypocritical in the sense that the Eds hate being sexually harassed by the Kankers, so for them to do the same would make them hypocrites? I don't think Double D would do that anyway. He's too pure.

Only thing i didnt understand is why marry was hostile to may fallingbin love with double d, i mean they didnt had beef between one another when it came to kissing just one of the eds before
