I bet I could write smile for an ed better so the episode begins almost the same but when Eddy stops telling the Ed and dd, but he goes to lunch before the photo then Eddy see Kevin is all dressed up making fun of him not noticing the irony that Kev calls out but Eddy still make fun of him Eddy goes to the photo Eddy is called up but like you said it would make better sense if the photo was taken while he was turning but when sees crumbles it up and throws not noticing it hit Kev but not thinking much he goes to throws it away looking the side noticing Ralph using a weird instrument and laugh at him Eddy noticing and jump to the conclusion he convinces the Ed's to help to get some intimidating evidence to black mail Kev they set up pranks for Kev and Kev see them setting them up as he went to the restroom, the other kids set them off all get mad or sad that their photo are going to ruined later on the Ed's try to take the Eddy's photo the last prank does get Kev and goes to the Ed's ruining Eddy last photo and bets them up as the ending comes

Smile for the Ed can be solved in one simple way: Eddy’s picture is GOOD from the beginning but only Eddy thinks it’s terrible. You can still have Kevin toying with Eddy, telling Eddy he thinks he looks stupid in the picture. Even if Kevin thinks Eddy’s picture is fine, him knowing Eddy has a problem with it is all the motivation Kevin needs.

I think that still makes Kevin look like malicious person. Kevin usually doesn’t mess with the Eds (aside from calling them “dorks”) unless either of them do wrong to him.

Really? I love Family Guy but that show is far from perfect, especially with it's seasonal rots. I also hate it when fans of South Park and Avatar treat the shows as flawless.

Honestly the only good thing to come out of "Smile for the Ed" is Ed's line where he saw Eddy's photo and said "Awwww you look like an onion. Moms love onions". I don't know if it was the delivery or what but that line always made me laugh

@@iAmAbsoluteFilth thak you for getting my point.e.d edd and eddy season 1 is not the funniest but its very well done like season 2 of simpsons..just really solid...has a old school charm to it classic iconic style..not as fast paced as it became later with jokes and energy but as an adult its nice to see slower paced animation...i kinda get sick of fast talking emotional swings and character movement ....i prefer slower scenes...

@@iAmAbsoluteFilth I actually like "Sir Ed-a-Lot". I don't know why, but it definitely plays with the general idea of children playing with their imaginations. Like, Sarah being a Queen and Jimmy being her Prince/Consort, and how it reminded me of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, where the Queen of Hearts has as much of a Tantrum as Sarah. Two of my favorite jokes are the Horse Race and Eddy juggling stuff. Funny enough, this episode has a brief reference in the "Time Capsule" episode, when Ed found Eddy's "Eddo" Puppet. ("Look, it's Eddo!") Fun Fact, "Sir Ed-a-Lot" is the first time Peach Creek was ever addressed in the show. People only knew of their home as "the Cul-De-Sac", before Season 5 addressed their hometown as Peach Creek, but "Sir Ed-a-Lot" is actually the first time "Peach Creek" was mentioned (When Eddy was trying to do stand-up comedy for Sarah, and she doesn't like his jokes: "I just flew in from Peach Creek, and boy--" "Are you stupid?").

I'd still say "If it Smells Like an Ed" had one of the greatest comedy moments ever. Ed dropping a solid cement block on his feet and just being stunned in silence.

That's a prime example of why you watch Ed Edd N Eddy. Plot don't mean jack when it comes to these shows. I can understand trying to look at it from this guy's perspective, but is there any "real" reason? No. Plot was never a major thing Danny wanted to concentrate on. It was moments like that. Which btw kills me each time I watch it.

I guess it's because eddy and kevin were mortal enemies before the end of the series and that also explains why eddy used kevin's fobia of niddles to mess with him in this won't hurt an ed and kevin used eddy's ruined picture to mess with him in smile for the ed although it seemed bad enough when kevin ruined eddy's picture so the difference between these episodes is that in smile for the ed kevin overdid it big time

Yeah he doesn't. He lists it in his "Top shows I hate but everyone else likes". He claims he doesn't like the visuals, the fact that the characters are jerks, and that it's too repetitive. Though tbh, he didn't watch enough of the show to form solid arguments.

yes but who cares about him? just kidding i don't agree with phantomstrider's stands on the show but i still respect his opinion and at the end of the day that's all you can really do.

I love EEnE as much as the next guy, but I think it's safe to say the "school" episodes as a whole were pretty mediocre. The first four seasons, the "Summer episodes", really were the best. They established many of their quirky traits and funny personalities. I've read that Season 5 was created mostly due to popular demand and it shows. They weren't horrible, but really weak compared to the original four seasons. Admittedly, I dislike the initial series finale, "Take this Ed and Shove it", but I love the true series finale, Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show. It was a perfect ending to the series despite some moments being very filler-esque. Great vid and I agree with a lot of what you said.

@@greenbanana1001 I enjoy most of them as well, the change of scenery and environment was a needed (or at least nice) change of pace imo. Also the restrictions of being in school led to some more interesting interactions, and some awesome episodes like "Cool Hand Ed" without even breaking their "no adult or non cul-de-sac kids" cast/appearances which I thought was pretty impressive.

@@EvilApple567 Because they are focused more on the perspective of the main characters which there no any supporting casts to the point of adding to the surreal nature. This was influenced by The Peanuts where adult characters are off screen, except for the guy at the pound who gave Charlie Brown a dog called Snoopy.

I think take this Ed and Shove it is a much more mature ending than the happy ending and for me I liked it more but I respect that opinion. I think the school episodes have some gems, "Out with the old, in with the Ed" and "Tight end Ed" are both very fun episodes. The prison break one and the one where eddy pretends to be Karl are okay, although the latter hasn't aged good. and the eds are coming, the eds are coming, is just a worse version of "Dawn of the Eds" to me. But overall the weakest.

Eddy’s picture in the thumbnail should become a meme.

If it smells like an Ed has to be the worst episode for me. Mostly because Jimmy faces no proper comeuppance at the end. Just slipped on a banana peel. And how Edd and Ed got punished for no reason.

But the other two Eds were punished alongside Eddy. You could say it's because they laughed at Jimmy, but that doesn't help anything since every other kid (except Sarah) laughed at him, too.

That seinfeld joke was PERFECT!

I think what I dislike the most in My Fair Ed is the fact that the neighborhood kids turn the blame on Edd even though they KNEW it was all Ed and Eddy's fault, and that Edd isn't even the leader of the trio since it's really only Eddy they hate since he's the mastermind of the trio. So really, there was no reason at all to assume that Edd is supposed to be held responsible for the shit Ed and Eddy did.

The way I saw it was Edd has the highest level of morality and intelligence of the trio so they were probably fed up with how he doesn't seem to do much to try and get them to act more like him.

I don’t remember the name of the episode, but when Kevin finds Eddy’s wallet with his name inside, that’s one of if not my least favorite episode in the show. He made eddy do so much embarrassing stuff and ended up telling the kids anyway. Kevin didn’t need to do it, but he did it anyway cuz it was fun. The picture day one you mentioned is really bad too though.

While I had a few good laughs from all of them, here's a list of my least favorite: S1: Oath to an Ed (the Sarah scene pissed me off to no end, and she deserved to be put in her place) S2: To Sir with Ed (One of the few episodes when it's not Eddy's fault, but still gets the short-end of the stick) S3: X marks the Ed (I genuinely felt sorry for Eddy on this one) S4: Your Ed here (This too) S5: Tween a Rock and an Ed Place (I just found this one boring to watch) Specials: Jingle Jingle Jangle (Out of all of them, I had the fewest laughs)

Here are mine: S1: Oath To An Ed (I agree that Sarah is incredibly annoying in this episode. And Eddy yelling at Sarah was really satisfying. I don't think the episode is bad, just mediocre.) S2: To Sir With Ed. (This was such a stupid episode. Eddy is suffering for no reason, and Nazz is at her absolute worst.) S3: My Fair Ed: (This episode was just sloppy. Oh yeah, and the ending not only made this episode predictable, but completely pointless.) S4: If It Smells Like An Ed: (Although I did like the concept of this episode where it tried to tackle on a mystery story, but the way it was executed was just awful. All the kids are at their worst here, and especially Jimmy. And did the Kanker Sisters barely serve anything to this episode, other than to just torture the Eds? And Jimmy's punishment in the end feels nothing more than a slap in the face.) S5: Smile For The Ed: (Eddy wants to take a good picture for his mother so he can get the key to his brother's room. And Kevin messes it up. Okay, let me just say, I *hated* Kevin in this fucking episode. And then the kids start making fun of Eddy with his picture, and start laughing at him. And I agree with Eddy: this scene was a total nightmare! This scene absolutely destroyed me as a kid! Later, Double D impersonates the principal, and tells the kids to stop, and when Eddy tries to take another good picture, Kevin screws it up *again?!* 🤦🤦🤦 Are you fucking kidding me?! I seriously wanted to punch Kevin *so* hard after that scene! Just... fuck Kevin! And then *Eddy* gets punished for impersonating the principal, something that *Double D* did, *and* has to clean up the mess that *Kevin* made?! No no no no no NO!!! Just... screw this episode. I'm actually disgusted with this episode. This episode is one of the most mean-spirited, abysmally horrendous pieces of crap that I have ever seen, and for all of the wrong reasons.)

Specials: Boo Haw Haw Not only is it a recycled plot with the map from Eddy's brother, but Eddy and Double D got punished for no reason. And on top of that, they never got to do any trick-or-treating (except for that one scene with Nazz), making the entire thing pointless.

The Sarah episodes are the worst. As in, all the episodes that end with the Eds getting in trouble with Sarah. "Ed in a Halfshell", "For Your Ed Only", "3 Squares and an Ed", "Brother, Can You Spare An Ed?", and "Pain in the Ed". I'm not going to count "Eds-Aggerate" since the Eds get in trouble with the kids in general in that one. At least in "Sir Ed-A-Lot", the Eds actually manage to outsmart and win against Sarah.

Sarah is easily the most annoying character in this show, and thus any episode that results in her coming out on top over the Eds is guaranteed to be a pain in the ass to watch because of how frustrating and obnoxious she is as a character.

Yeah, for Ed, Edd n Eddy to be considered "the perfect show" is an overstatement. It turned out a memorable show, but it is rare to find actually perfect TV series.

Wish they had a cartoon network classics channel with the shows that 90s kids grew up with, and have the 7x2 chess logo.

I think the episode is actually more interesting to show Edd's strength by his accidents that could've hurt anyone. This is also one of the times that the Eds weren't punished at the end, but they are rewarded for something. Eddy confronted the Kankers and told them to leave Double D alone really put a smile on my face.

The last episode was very underwhelming and the ending with Jimmy beating up Double D didn't make sense. It really should've been Eddy who got his comeuppance. The overall episode still was mediocre.

@@bowserkoopa9239 The episode is fairly okay to start out with, but the issue peaks around the time they realize summer has ended and have to go to school the entire Cul De Sac break down Double D's door and steal all his school supplies. Then once the Eds realize they are in seperate homerooms and have to get them switch they are forced to switch with the Kanker sisters, which ends with them being humiliated by the Kankers into confession they are in a relationship with them while the kids laugh and mock them despite seeing them being forced to do so. Then after their "deal" they are tricked into being G rated raped by the Kankers again, it's basically another ending where the Kankers give them a bad ending for no reason. The Eds were basically punished and humiliated just for simply wanting the same homeroom with one another.

@@eymed2023 The biggest issue with Tinker Ed aside from it being boring is the fact that the ending implies Sarah, Kevin and Jimmy manipulated the whole thing from the start to frame the Eds. Because it makes no sense otherwise that Kevin would be the catalyst that starts things off by telling Jimmy fairytales aren't real, which keep in mind he ONLY did that because Sarah and Jimmy were bothering him when he was trying to study, only for Sarah to read loudly to irritate him, yet all of a sudden he shows up at the end with Jimmy and Sarah as if they had planed to humiliate them? Even though Eddy ONLY gets the idea to do the unicorn scam because of what Kevin said that made Jimmy sad in the first place? From Double D and Ed's perspective they wanted to help Jimmy, and even if you wanted to argue about the scam it doesn't excuse the fact the ending is completely hypocritical. With Too Smart for His Own Ed my issue is how easily the kids buy into Ed being smart and Double D being stupid, even though he only messed up one letter caused by stage fright, that he also corrects. Even Sarah his own sister buys it, because of this I honestly have to side with Eddy in this one. While him ignoring Double D was bad, he only got the idea to milk Ed being smart for pay when the kids themselves buy into it. For instance Jimmy needs math help, yet when Ed says one of his obvious nonsequetors Sarah is about to punch Eddy until Jimmy convinces her Ed was right. And Double D offers to help the kids for free but they reject him, so really they actively CHOSE to buy into Eddy's "Ed Head Ed" scam, rather than him actually scamming them. So for them to get mad in the end it makes them all Idiot Houdinis.

@@Surgemaster2012 Yeah, I can see how the plot has some logic holes. I can see how that bothers people, but personally, it doesn't really offend me. I mean, EENE episodes frequently suffer from being mean spirited and unfair (even good episodes). In comparison, "Tinker Ed" and "Too Smart for His Own Ed" are pretty harmless in that regard. They're not super funny or anything, but I still find them OK. They're the kind of episode that I'll watch if it's on. It's different from, say, the FRUSTRATING episodes which I'll actively try to avoid watching.

Episodes of ed edd n eddy i dislike Season 1: The one where the eds babysit sarah and jimmy Season 2: To sir with ed Season 3: If it smells like an ed Season 4: Is there a doctor in the ed, Your Ed here, Sorry wrong ed, the episode where the eds try to join sarah and Jimmy's rich club Season 5: The episode where edd tries to take a shower, smile for the ed Season 6: That episode where edd and jimmy have that safety club. Those are the episodes of this show i dislike. I do consider this an overall good show though and is one of my favs still today

I'm kinda glad that Ed Edd N Eddy ended where it should've. The 5th season really started to show signs of the series decline in quality and would've probably gotten progressively worst had the series kept going. It was basically heading into "Spongebob Squarepants territory" where everything that once made the show great was gone. My two biggest problems with season 5 was that most of the episodes focused too much on The Ed's humiliation and suffering. The other problem was Eddy just becoming a straight of jerk, everything about his character became unlikable. If there's ONE benefit from season 5 however, it's that it gave The Big Picture Show a FANTASTIC ending. Eddy finally admitting his flaws and the Cul-da-Sac kids accepting the Eds. Overall though, Season 5 was a DUD.

I hated Edd becoming this angelic wooby patron saint character in the later seasons. Other fans seem to love it though. They made Eddy (and Ed) over the top a*holes to him in a lot of scenes just so Edd could get payback or they grovel to him. Even the movie did it

@A this is what you call "flanderization" . As time went on, each character's defining trait became their whole character and Ed Edd n Eddy unfortunately fell into that. Eddy in particular became the worst character on the show because he just became an overbearing asshole.

In To Sir With Ed, Double D was the first to think that Eddy's parent sent Nazz to date Eddy and by the end of the day Double D never admits how mistaken he was about the whole thing. Why? I have no idea.

Smile for the Ed was worse. But If it smells like an Ed is still my least favorite episode of the series.

Im glad more ppl are starting to agree that "to sir with ed" is a weak episode. Ive been seeing more ppl hate it lately, and for good reason. It has some good jokes here and there like the way eddy gets the eds to come over, and eddy eating the table, but the awkwardness of the date between him and nazz is so underplayed, nothing really happens, it is mean spirited, and the ending is horrendously badddd. Eddy gets laughed at and punished through no fault of his own, and it is so frustrating. Eddy didn't even do anything wrong. This isnt my LEAST favorite episode of the series, that would be "if it smells like an ed", it isnt even in my bottom 5, but it is still bad.

Smile for the Ed was bad because Scott Underwood was in control not Danny Antonucci

Are you kidding, ‘sir Eds a lot’ is my favorite episode

Personally, when I was a kid, I really liked the episode "If it smells like an Ed. I mean now that I'm grown up I see how unfair it is to the Edds, but when it first came out I loved it. First of all because of how long it was, I'd never seen a cartoon that long before, and unlike most people I truly, honestly, thought it was Rolf who did it. I never saw it coming that Jimmy did it.

Eddy deserved it. But Edd and Ed did not. The only thing they did was laugh at Jimmy getting weggied by Eddy. Other than that they didn't do anything else to get punished. That episode still pisses me off to this day.

Yeah maybe the writers shouldn't put the word "Sir" in the title of the episodes.

I feel like they chose jimmy to be the culprit cause I guess we didn't expect this as a kid,he's too sensitive too light hearted so I guess when they made that episode it's like it's saying if you piss off someone this sensitive your going to see their dark side

To Sir with Ed and Sir-Ed-a-Lot are basically the only bad episodes that are more tolerable than the rest.

The problem I had with the babysitter episode was that Naz seemed like a jerk at the end. As a sitter who should know her stuff, Naz should not have even allowed Kevin and Rolf to enter the house and through a party. Even if they are friends, letting people in while watching the kid is a #1 no-no. She didn't even get in trouble for that. Then there's the "BED TIME FOR YOU MISTER!!". Granted, anyone would be more that ticked at the bathtub going through the floor like that but, considering the insanity the show's set in, you'd think Naz and everyone else would've taken it as spilled milk. Not to mention, it seems OOC for Naz since she's supposed to be the most chilled-out.

Surprised that Cleanliness is Next to Edness didn't make the list. It's even worse than Sorry Wrong Ed because Eddy at least deserved some sort of repercussion for how he treated both his friends and cul-de-sac kids at one point or another. But Edd who always helps out? It was way out of character for everyone to ignore that and just have the whole episode be torture porn without cause.

The first 8 seconds are the most accurate words ever spoken

That's some really good editing

Breaks my heart that cartoon network no longer acoladges this shows existance even tho it was one of their most viewed and most popular show st the time, when i was a kid i used to watch old episodes of tom & jerry and loony toons with my parents and they would laugh along with me like they where reliving their childhoods, i had hoped to one day do the same with my son watching old episodes of ed edd n eddy, but sadly that may never happen.

I actually loved the worst episode from 1-3, but I agree 4 wasn’t good either. The episode was longer than normal, the kids laughing at jimmy felt so out of their usual character. That and combined with how quickly they blamed the Eds? It was somewhat barbaric. At least in some of the other episodes, a similar behaviour is justified and kinda amusing. Not this time .

The only good scene in "it smells like an Ed" is Eddy hitting Kevin in the face with a fence board

I actually enjoyed watching that episode the first time. The air of mistery, along with the jokes. But I agree that it's frustrating how the Eds are unfairly punished, and how the culprit was predictable.

I can almost understand Eddy messing with Edd in "My Fair Ed", but why Ed? He's usually one of the nicest kids in the show.

Never seen you before, but this is definitely a solid video. I love the Eds too and I think you have fair points and were very thorough which is nice. There are some video glitches/hitches though which I assume are rendering issues, but they might be editing issues too. Though I doubt it, they're very erratic, very reminiscent of me trying to render bullshit on Adobe Aftereffects and not really knowing what I was doing. Not saying you don't know what you're doing, but the software you're using might be the hangup itself. Hard to say.

"My Fair Ed" at least has the funny moment with Ed running around the tree for about 30 seconds, thinking he caught Eddy with the broccoli

The episode with the plasters. I might be stating the obvious, but it was about hitting your kids to change their behaviour right? That scene at the dinner table, when Eddy is about to say something and Edd raises his hand, Eddy kinda buckles under the threat of being smacked and does as he's told. But as the episode goes on, they become less and less responsive to the punishment. think the episode was meant for parents not the kids to watch. If you think of Edd as a parent, he doesn't have any control over what his kids do, but he will be held accountable by the neighbourhood regardless. When he submits to pressure and uses harsh punishments to make his job easier and it backfires, maybe the message is Not to use threats or physical punishment to correct children.

season one and two in my opinion has no bad episodes just episodes better than others, season 3 and ESPECIALLY 4&5 however are a different case entirely.

Like what you like. The most important part is what you get out of it. But why not something with more depth and risk? Something where there is something at stake? Something with (at least) decent or even great worldbuilding. Like: Fullmetal alchemist/Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood? Naruto? Assassination Classroom? Dragonball? Blue exorcist? Hunter x Hunter? Case closed? Food Wars - shokugeki no soma? My hero academia?
