You know the layout of your home, and your eyes are already adjusted to the lighting or lack thereof .

He probably just wanted him out of his house because the convict has a thing for knives and with a swat team en route after calling 911 no telling what could've happened if he were trapped in there. I bet the owner doesn't own a firearm either.

This is a fascinating story. His mother's worried voice coming from a helicopter above. His basic need to have something alive and healthy in his body for the first time in a very long time. Taking anything of monetary worth from that house was not viable or worthy of anything. This for him is something to strive for instead of being in a cage for the rest of his life. Raw, high stakes hide & seek survival mode, nothing to lose.

They keep talking about he’s in the woods but he was in a home while a family was there. That could have went really bad. Scary. Took about 9 days to catch the inmate also accused of murder that escaped from another jail close by a month ago.

I can totally relate to a need for Fruit...🤣

To bad we don't have th death penalty anymore. Could save us a lot of time and effort.

If we wanted to expand the death penalty we would have to fix our VERY flawed justice system in the first place. We can't just kill everyone who's convicted of murder when so many people are wrongfully convicted.

It’s not strange at all. Had he not let the killer known he was there, the killer may have tried to check every room. If you yelled, the killer will have a better idea of knowing where you are. I’m sure a huge reason the killer left shortly after is because of the light switch trick

Why are there "vulnerabilities" and why are they "aware" of them? Any vulnerabilities should be taken care of as soon as they become apparent. If the prison is that vulnerable to escape, move the affected prisoners until the problem is addressed, imo.

Wow they’re really desperate to find this guy. Having his mom‘s voice play out from the helicopter. Either he’s healthy or the homeowners are vegan; snap peas, peaches and apples? Crazy to have stab your ex in front of her kids. I know he is not going to be taken in alive.

I’m thankful this man’s family is ok-it could have been a lot worse than the Murderer taking some sugar snap peas. I’m grateful my husband grew up hunting and knowing how to use fire arms. He would have exercised his 2nd amendment right; not playing a gotcha game with the light switch.

I thought the light switch thing was civil. Even if armed, you can lose a gun fight. I'd imagine most thieves sneaking in the middle of the night are doing so because they want to avoid confrontation. So allowing them a chance to leave saves everyone. Stuff is just stuff.

I'd imagine it's the same thing for war, in that you want to maintain tactical advantage. But maybe you know better 🤷🏾‍♂️ ---------- It is better to barricaded yourself in a safe room such as your bedroom etc, call the police and simply protect the entrance to the room - giving you the tactical advantage, or if possible get out of the house and call the police, remember your property is replaceable, your life is not.

Otherwise, the criminal might check every room and maybe even crash for the night if he thinks no one is home. The "you're fine to leave" light click is as smart as it gets in this situation. Castle doctrine applies when an intruder is in your space and you are able to directly shoot him down. Yes, you are allowed to run from the upstairs back bedroom all the way to the kitchen porch on the other side of the house but why would you? Over peaches and snap peas?
