"Remote Services" A Sci-Fi Story & Diorama | Beyond the Blight with MODIBOTS
Ойын-сауық
Len, a quiet but talented droid pilot, applies for a "remote service" job with Ekra Consulting, a wealthy and powerful corporation. As part of the Cleaning Administration, they are dedicated to the eradication of mutant lifeforms spawned by the blight, and they are offering a hefty reward for the extermination of the most dangerous mutation yet.
I had tons of fun making this, and it wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of Wayne Losey, the creator of MODIBOT, the modular, highly-articulated action figure!

Agreed!! So good
I love how these world building crafting videos are becoming their own genre here on KZread. I love how you are following in the footsteps of others like Boylei, Bill Making Stuff, etc, but you are also doing something unique and fresh. Your world building is next level with your maps, writing system, and well written engaging story. I love when you explain your build process but I also loved listening to your story while watching your build, you are very imaginative and I can't wait to see and hear more! I hope more and more people start doing stuff like this (I even have a few ideas cooking!), but in the future I hope you take your rightful space in the hall of founding father/mothers of this world crafting genre.

I can’t believe a game, book even anime company haven’t snatched you up. These stories of Beyond the Blight have Netflix wetting themselves. There fantastic, I love them and your models just enhance the whole experience.
Dude! Such a cool story! Thank you so much. Literally smiling and hanging on the edge of my seat for more. I would 1000% support this book. Also super cool build.

In my head I am seeing these stories play out in a graphic novel/magazine, much like the "Metal Hurlant/Heavy Metal" from back in the 80's. If you could get an amazing artist(s), or draw it yourself, this would be super sweet!!

The creature's bark like skin also seems like muscle fiber just as well. And that face, the GAPING MAW, would horrify me if I came to face to face with it. Love it

I noticed that as well. If this creature was flesh, then it would be gross as well as scary. The fact that it is animate plantlife just makes this even more frightening. Truly the stuff of nightmares! 😱

Holy crap, man. That was so well made! Both the story and the build simply blew me away! You definitely have something with that story, and I want to know more! I haven't seen any of your other build videos or world-building stuff, but don't fall into the trap of world-building forever. I especially liked how you didn't feel the need to explain every single little thing in the story. Show, Don't Tell was in full effect here, and I appreciate it immensely!

This was most emtertaining. Two of my favourite hobbies -watching builds and listening to stories- combined. Just to make clear, there is no monster, right? Just the authorities reskining some tribe people into monsters? Metaverse at its finest :D
Very awesome. There might not be any other channel out there that does this with their builds. It's really great.

Beautiful build, really interesting take on using a modibot Part of me really wants to see what a pilots control station looks like now, how intense of a sensory experience it may be. Really excited for the future though, the lore you give is super interesting and inspiring

I love how you made the cloak flow out behind the droid. Great effect. Another amazing build and addition to the lore of this world.

That short story commentary was amazing! Must take a long time to come up with that!
I don't know where to begin! Recently I've been listening to E-books, I might add I'm 63yrs old. Sci-fi fantasy has always drawn me in. Robert Heinlein and you share a flow on your story telling that pulls a participant in. Then your artistic skills in modeling harden the foundation. 👍

Another fantastic build, and a wonderful story to go with it! I love watching these videos!
Dude. Seriously. This is the best format for this kind of project. I watch other channels (not just modeling) and many times they say something similar to, "When you are creating your model/prop/etc, give it a story" and I will be honest, I was hearing the story and watching this come to life and it was like I was watching this come to life as it flowed through your head, out of your hands and into the medium you were making it out of. Some other channels like to describe what they are doing (which is 100% acceptable) and why but this format just "works" on a level of creation process. Not just the "how to" for techniques but also the "how to" on the thought process and creativity. Well done all around! This is an awesome way to present this type of project and I hope it continues.

Thank you so much. It felt like a huge risk, doing a short story narration instead of explaining the build process, which is the norm for these videos. And at first it really didn't gain any kind of traction, but after doing a few more of these videos and finding more of a balance between the two styles, I feel like I'm in a groove and people are starting to find it and connect. I really appreciate your comment.

Too much of a cliffhanger! Aaaah! 😭 I enjoyed the story very much. In general I prefer to (also) hear explanations how the build was done, what the thoughts and problems were. But you obviously did a good job because I watched the video (and listened to the story) anyway. :)
