Doing that, you would have to make sure tissue doesn't fall off, so you would have to tie it down somehow. How did they make the cap if they didn't melt the plastic first? All plastic that touches your food or drinks has at one point been melted to form the container, this isn't adding or subtracting anything to that bottle

@@satanistruth666 Common types of plastic bottles for food include: 1. **Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE)**: Often used for water and soda bottles due to its strength, transparency, and resistance to permeation. 2. **High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)**: Commonly used for milk jugs, juice bottles, and some food containers because of its sturdiness and resistance to chemicals. 3. **Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE)**: Used for squeezable bottles (like honey and mustard) because of its flexibility. 4. **Polypropylene (PP)**: Often used for containers that hold hot liquids, such as yogurt containers and syrup bottles, because of its high melting point. 5. **Polystyrene (PS)**: Sometimes used for disposable food containers and cutlery, though less common for bottles. 6. **Polycarbonate (PC)**: Used in larger, reusable water bottles and some food containers due to its toughness and heat resistance. ### Common Manufacturing Process: Injection Blow Molding Injection blow molding is the most common method for producing plastic bottles, especially those made from PET and HDPE. The process involves several steps: 1. **Injection Molding**: - **Material Preparation**: Plastic pellets (resin) are fed into a heated barrel where they are melted and mixed. - **Injection**: The melted plastic is injected into a preform mold, forming a "preform" that resembles a test tube with a bottle neck. 2. **Blow Molding**: - **Heating**: The preform is then heated to a temperature suitable for blow molding. - **Blowing**: The heated preform is placed in a blow mold, and air is blown into it, causing the plastic to expand and take the shape of the mold cavity. 3. **Cooling and Ejection**: - The mold is cooled to set the shape of the bottle. - The bottle is ejected from the mold and trimmed of any excess plastic. ### Variations of Blow Molding There are a few variations of the blow molding process that are also used in plastic bottle manufacturing: - **Extrusion Blow Molding**: Used for larger bottles and containers, this process involves extruding a tube of molten plastic (parison) and then blowing it into the desired shape. - **Stretch Blow Molding**: Specifically used for PET bottles, this process involves stretching the preform vertically and horizontally during the blow molding stage, enhancing the strength and clarity of the final product. ### Summary While injection blow molding and its variations (extrusion blow molding and stretch blow molding) are the predominant methods for manufacturing plastic bottles, each type of plastic may have specific requirements and optimizations within these processes to achieve the desired properties and quality.

These polymers won't stay plastic forever, they will lose the plasticity after a certain amount of heat cycles, but so long as they are still plastic they can be heat cycled and reshaped. Once the plasticity is gone however you'll just find they will hit their smoke point and start smoking before catching on fire.

Honestly, with bottles of oil like that, if you drop them the cap pops open more than half the time. Sometimes it even damages the cap so it will never snap closed again. Poking a hole in the top probably saves far more oil in the long run. Getting dedicated squirt bottles works best, though.
