She's quite the beast herself as she decapitated Iron Man and beat Spider-Man to death with a rock over the course of the event...

Absolutely true! I mean, sure you can't have someone as powerful as the Hulk just walking around solving all the problems. It is ok for the director's to allow his fights to go more than 3 minutes, to show that he has some sort of prowess on the battlefield though.

Max's misreading of the ending is hilarious. I think the lore should now be that, upon uniting the infinity stones, Thanos changed his name to Magneto and spent the rest of his days as a farmer.

The "Wife" on winning poses: Terraxia - created using the power of the stones to compensate Thanos for the lack of affection showed by Lady Death The Ending: Thanos always sabotage himself. After Nebula is able to steal the infinity gauntlet from him, then loose it in the aftermath of the battle with all the heroes, Adam warlock steps in and reclaim the infinity stones, becoming their guardian. Thanos is then sent inside the soul stone, where he becomes a farmer and acknowledges his own flaws in wielding and holding on to that much power and becoming a god. You're welcome.

Correction: Thanos faked his death at the end of the arc and then Warlock and the rest when to find him and he was living off of the land on some random planet. His armour is off and he uses it as a scare crow for his farm. It wasn't soul world cause in Infinity war (the next arc after Infinity gauntlet) the clone of Thanos created by Magus went to his home to attempt to kill him

I miss the drawing style of the characters, 90 comic style like X-men TAS was... They were drawn more "meaty" so to speak!

Weirdly enough finishing the game with thanos just loops out the text from magneto's ending, must be a bug (or something that was overlooked by the devs). Now regarding farmer thanos, in one of the comic series after he was defeated went into hiding and sort of had a philosophical phase where he just chilled out for a while and farmed, before going back to his usual self.

In the Infinity Gauntlet event comics, Thanos retired to become a farmer after he was defeated, having decided that infinite power was just too much hassle.

"And he became a farmer." I....Feel like we skipped some development there. Lol

So here’s why the colors are different. Comic explanation is after the 2015 Secret Wars miniseries and the Entire Marvel Universe was recreated, the Gem colors got shifted around from the classic ones in this game. The MCU, MVCI and the comics now follow the color-shifted gems.

Thanks. I have not any new Marvel comics after 2010. I still go by the classic colors and I still call them Gems. The new colors and calling them stones , is just to confusing to me. My friend and I as older comics fans, who prefer the older comics, still call them Gems. If you call them stones, that is good too.

Thanos ending wasn't in this. Only PSX/Saturn versions, as it wasn't done yet. He had a choice, to embrace the power and rule the cosmos, or to renounce the power and embrace the simpler life (IE: the farming).

Turns out I was wrong. This was a specific glitch for the arcade version. The Sega Saturn/Playstation Versions fixed the dialogue.

Also does playable thanos get anything special if you use a stone and the matching super (power gem super with power gem on)

Originally it was: Power gem (red), space gem (purple), soul gem (green), time gem (blue), mind gem (yellow) and reality gem (orange)

MARVEL SUPER HEROS!!!! So much enthusiasm & love was made back when Capcom would dish out hit after hit! I miss this era!

And thus Grimace starts his path with the glove.

I love watching Max play and figure stuff out. Especially oldschool games

The reason they changed the Color of the Infinity Gems is because the Gems change color depending on what Marvel Universe/Multiverse they are in. Like Earth-616 has different colors from Earth-2276.

...The nostalgia is real, and the quarters in the machine after school was well worth it. growing up in the 90s life was so pure and simple no worries. saturday mornings with a bowl of cereal watching 92 x-men and 94 spider-man animated cartoon series damn miss those days.

God the Dr doom theme is amazing!

The "Wiffu" Thanos created was made with the reality stone in the Infinity War Comics. Thanos made her to taunt Death...and man was she pissed!!!

I hope the Avengers game that Square Enix is working on is good. Because Infinity Wars has got me so HYPED to play a good Avengers game.

Blackheart, Thanos, and Shuma-Gorath are all serious cosmic heavyweights (Shuma being the heaviest and weightiest) so I always found it funny that relatively regular dudes like Iron Man and Doom were expected to compete with them in an all out brawl. Fighting games!

I noticed that Thanos has the infinity gems on his gloves(yes plural cuz apparently he has 12 gems with the way he’s rendered here) but he doesn’t have them in MvC2. Notable because character sprites didn’t change in these fighting games.

Every time I see Blackheart in one of these games I remember what they did to him in the Ghost Rider movie.

Thanos ending on arcade is bugged, on ps1/saturn they fixed that, you can choose between two endings.

The Dialogue is from Magneto's ending, but the pics are for Thanos... The last pic shows Thanos in the foreground as a farmer, and he used his suit as a scarecrow in the background.

When the movie review, though? Oh, and I love how Thanos literally used his Space Gem hyper combo from this game on Iron Man in the movie.

Looks like Max is using Thanos with a filled infinity gauntlet to collect more infinity stones. How many stones does this Thanos need?

I know when it comes to the sprite games, Wolverine was in all of them. Akuma comes in at a close second since he was in CotA, MSH (Anita), XvS, MSvSF, a evil ryu in MvC and MvC2

While Thanos stops using a super move if he loses the corresponding Infinity Gem when the computer controls him, this is just how he's programed to fight. When you play as him you can use his super moves regardless of whether or not you have the corresponding gem.

The fight with Hulk was pretty much how it went down

This game was my introduction to Thanos since i was always first and foremost a game nerd and comic nerd a distant second. It stirred in me a huge fan attachment to Thanos and i started looking into comics to find out more about him. However, this being a fighting game that throws several characters together on a roster with little regard for their actual abilities blinded me to some things. Basically i was immediately put off by the Infinity Guantlet when i discovered what it really does rather than some slight bonus in several stats as this game suggests. Still a huge fan of Thanos to this day ... but still hate that Infinity Guantlet. Infinity War hitting theaters was a mix of emotions for me.

Great video. I agree with you, Marvel comics should have never had changed the colors. I read and love Infinity Gauntlet comics. I still go by the Gems original colors like in this game and Infinity Gauntlet comics.

I like how thanos is seen wielding all the gems and even puts his fist up but then you start the game with one gem.

The reason Wolverine and Psylocke's sprites look so detailed is because they were used for a ton of games after debuting in X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse for the SNES.

Every time he gets what he wants he ends up living in ☮️ for some time

Even though I am not fun of Capcom vs gameplay formula, I must say that presentation, animations, character sprites are amazing. So detailed and full of personality. I wish more games this days were like this instead of going for the "realism".

Thanos hung up his armor and stuffed it with hay to use as a scarecrow and "yes" he becomes a farmer ....in the comics...this event happens in between the end of The Infinity Gauntlet and segues into The Infinity War....... something like that.

This is probably my favorite game of all time!

I was obsessed with this game back in the mid 90's. To this day, I still feel this is one of the best fighting games Capcom ever produced before the visual clusterfuck that was the MvC series. Mind you, this is just my opinion.

That ending was actually the aftermath of the Infinity Gauntlet comics. The one behind him was a scarecrow wearing his costume. Too bad the dialogue was missing.

Max, Thanos’ ending is the ending of the Infinite Gauntlet comic series (by Jim Starlin), where Thanos has been ironically humbled into the Everyman at the story’s end where he is now comfortable with a his reduced position in the universe, toiling from the soil. With a loss of self-grandiosity, Thanos’ previous costume becomes a scare-crow in his garden. Now a farmer, Thanos has come to terms with the universe always in cycles of chaos and imbalance to balance - where Adam Warlock is now the one entrusted with the infinite stones and the salvation and preservation of the new order of the universe.

Don't forget that in the comics, Adam Warlock knew Thanos's heart because Adam Warlock was one with The Soul Gem. Infinity Gauntlet is a fun read.

I wish this game was xbox one backwards compatible. I really miss this game, and although I have most of my fighting games on PS4 or steam, I'd buy it in a heartbeat to play on my xbox one.
