This game had the best art out of all the early VS games. It’s definitely the same artist as the rest but it had a more expressive “cartoony” look that I really like.

Still my favorite Marvel VS series game along with X-Men vs SF. I spent many days playing this in the arcade and then imported the arcade perfect Saturn version (avoided the PS1 version like the plague). Probably the most overlooked game in the VS series.

For some reason my experience with the ps1 x-men VS. Street fighter doesn't have any of the issues max had with his. And I just played it on my ps1 the other day. And Ken did have his big ass shinku hadouken. I even combo's him with Ryu all the time for that double hadouken.

CHOOSE YOUR ALTER EGO This is the game that introduced me to the versus series. Cyber akuma is one of my favorite characters in video games

They need to bring back 2D sprites again.

People just hate the PS version of this game, because it wasn't a true tag game.

Max teamed Ken up with Bison.....the guy who transformed Ken into VIOLENT KEN in Street Fighter 2 JUST LIKE how APOCALYPSE transformed AKUMA into CYBER AKUMA!

Manuel Sacha Well that Nash thing WAS cannon. SF Alpha games in the story were before 2 and we know nash was wounded and dying. It was why he wasnt in any of 3s versions. Due to fans liking Nash tho they rewrote and brought him back.

Ken and Norimaro would have been the ideal team, Max, you know it in your heart.

There must be others that wish Street Fighter would return to the anime look. Maybe mimic the cell shading Guilty Gear has? Tatsunoko’s look was good but GG is better. I’d like SF6 to have the look and feel of Alpha/Third Strike games but with new content.

I second that... I hope that SF6 is gonna be mostly like 3rd Strike, only with unparriable projectiles and much more new content and lore and awesomeness *after* the SF3 story.

I been going back through these old vids of yours Max really been enjoying watching them passes time while I work! Hope you don't quit on these or boss rages....

This game was awesome. Loved how the announcer shouts out the name of the Super when you win with one. Made you feel real good!

Sean Bird True! ONE QUESTION: In Wolverine's ending in Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter, Wolverine was facing the defeated Cyber Akuma and said that next time they meet, Wolverine is going to finish him, but their was an unknown character far away in the background. WHO WAS IT???

Sam McGuire To be honest this game might be at the top of my list for the VS series. The whole MvC series has amazing music (except infinite) but I’ve always loved the soundtrack of this one a little more than the others.

"you never see the people playing these versions of the game" that's literally the way people played it, if i remember well, this game sold like 700k units on the ps1 and 80k on saturn, but yeah, the saturn version was infinitely superior graphically speaking

I loved this game!!! In high school computer class there was a kid who brought his USB and would install emulators on some of the computers and this game was always played!!

This is the versus series game with the best soundtrack for sure!

Everytime I hear the Player Select, Akuma, Shuma-Gorath and Wolverine tracks It takes me back as a kid being 7yrs old being in the arcade with my uncle. 28yrs old now reminiscing when Capcom ruled the 90's at that time.

I did import the Saturn versions of XvSF, MvSF and Vampire Savior way back in 1998-99. I still have them

When this game came out I imported it for my Sega Saturn it is was glorious. You could tag in and out, the animation was amazing and it was just plain awesome 🙂

Akuma looks a like a mean drag with that red hair with a tiny pony tail and those metallic high sandals.

What makes the removal of the tag mechanics _extra_ weird is that in that screen showing the next opponents and stage, the _active_ character of each team is in the _background_

Definitely one of my most favorite games from the good old days.

I find it kinda funny that Ken makes a refrence to Sean and SF3 at 13:30 while being the youngest he has ever been. (SF Alpha)

Would love to see Max play the Sega Saturn arcade perfect version of this.

When the Cap'n America Fight was up i thought that the "Mute City" Theme of F-Zero was playing. The themes are very alike. I got a copy of this game and was rather upset how inferior the Saturn Version was. Still love the Vs. Series though

I _really_ regret not buying the Marvel Origins compilation back on 360 when they took it down. They look like such cool games. (I just wish they came with a pair of siblings or flatmates to play them with. Never got much use out of my darkstalkers collection)
