Ever since Norway's Got Talent, Angelina's parents have striven to ensure she enjoyed as normal a childhood as possible. Sara Astar, her mother, said they pick and choose from the many requests while turning down 90% of them. Once Angelina finished school, she could then enter her professional music career. Now, at 17, she's completed her schooling. Hence, her new/upcoming album remarkedly bears the title, "Old Enough."

My Funny Valentine This is my 185th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. My Funny Valentine When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 18 is the greatest story telling being in my 76 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. She is the only one in this universe that is capable of making us feel the true emotion of this ballad. There is no way to explain this gift that has been given to the universe, does she even know, or understand the power she encompasses?

If I am planning a 'journey,' I do my homework..literally, I do research, as my journey can only benefit from my familiarizing myself with the different legs of the travel destination. Thank you for reminding us all that we're each on a journey; might help us be more goal oriented! Like many AJ fans, I have a solid classical music background. Even so, I myself don't have the desire to be a reactor; I am not patient enough to handle all that many reactors get to deal with on any given day. But, if I were to give it a whirl, my first 'self-discipline' would be to begin by being that 'glass half-full,' and first LISTEN with the mindset of 'hearing fully' what the artist's performance offers and how it affects me...BEFORE I start judging in increments. Angelina is musically superb here, in my opinion. Maria, I'm appreciating your reaction style more each time. Yes, she dropped this in early 2022 at age 16. The song is an old, smokey, sultry jazz standard. What I love about Angelina Jordan's take is the breath she puts into the words at just the right places, then her clear tones ring against that, and I just love it. I love your kitty. I like some others are baffled as to why AJs version of this was posted but rapidly withdrawn. The only reason we still have it is that some of us assiduously save these gems. I scoured everywhere to see if I could find the backing track used, but came to the conclusion that this was probably custom made. Why would they go to all that bother only to delete it, presumably not wanting it to be heard anymore. A real mystery and sometimes in these cases money may be at the bottom of it. Thank goodness the same didn’t happen with Suspicious Minds.

This is a classic Jazz standard. Every artist that sings this has their own take on it. Angelina has one of the most coherent and smooth versions I've heard.

This was the very Best sung Funny Valentine, ever done.

This song has been one of my all-time favorites for 50 years & I have listened to all the legendary versions over the years. When I discovered Angelina when she was 12, she had recorded 2 versions, the 1st at 9 yo at a concert in Norway with piano & saxophone backing & it brought tears to my eyes. A year later she recorded it a 2nd time at barely 10, sitting in a chair at home, singing to a backing track. The "cuteness" factor was off the charts & the tears flowed again. Both versions were unbelievably good, but she still had remnants of a child's voice & wasn't on the level of the most legendary vocalists of the past. I really hoped she would record this a 3rd time when her voice had fully matured. Well my wish came true when she recorded this version at barely 16. To me this is another level above any version I have ever heard by anyone, male or female, EVER. Her vocal mastery in this is off the charts & she makes me melt listening to it. I have to close my eyes for this one because I find the video very distracting. I hope to actually see her sing this someday & I really hope she includes this song on an album of covers in the near future. To me, this is her most stunning performance, so far.

This choice she made at the end to not belting the note is the true mark of a master creator...99% would have belt to show off. She has been taught humility and that shows off in the way she approach the song. A true master.

Attention is onlinr now. With well over 2billion views shes making the best out of new formats. Radio isnt traceable in actual interactions. Plus the companywill pour it in when shes ready and able to do a tour to support an album. Its close but itll take a while. 😊

I think this is her very best vocal.. She uses all her tools and firmly establishes herself as one of the all time great vocalists..

She has naturally brown eyes, the blue are contacts. But she is beautiful either way.

If you love the original version you should find the one she did when Angelina was 13 you will freak out she is terriffic

It is because it is only after she finished school a year early that her parents are allowing Republic Records to push her. They wanted as normal a childhood as possible for a musical genius. In the music industry she has been talked about for years. You had to stumble across Angelina almost by accident before this. I discovered her as a child in an episode of Lillyhammer. A beautiful little girl in white singing in the background of the jazz club. You hear her voice but only a few glimpses of her. I love Billie Holiday so was astounded to hear the sliding vocals and period perfect tone. I researched and my journey began. As a Britain or an American you had to catch her in one of the limited public appearances in the school holidays. I am sure she got alot of interest in the US after her appearance on the View when she was 8. But you had to catch that, because her parents turned down subsequent spin off offers. They gave her enough concerts and charity appearances in the school holidays to satisfy her that they were supporting a career but were subtly putting on the brakes. If they had released I'M HOLDING OUT FOR YOU when she was 10, or took up Disneys offer she would have been a worldwide phenom. then. They are the opposite of stage parents. They did not grasp opportunity to make money. In fact they donated a large chunk of her Norways Got Talent win. Her fan base has grown so large organically. Thanks to the fact that once you have heard her you just want more, and more. You share her with your friends at first they think you are obsessed then they find the song that reels them in and they fall down the rabbit hole too.

Good review of Angelina and a Jazz Classic. She will be BIG in a few years as she has new management and her own songs. If you want another couple of artist who will blow you away try Gigi de Lana start with "Better Days". Also Sohyang and start with either "Bridge over Troubled Water" or "I will always Love You". This version is BETTER than Whitney Houston and I thought that was impossible.

The sexiest women singers in musical history have all come up short compared to this sultry 16 year olds version! Todays artists are mostly trying to out yell each other and see how much skin they can show. Trash music. Thank you for a thoughtful reaction.

Those blue eyes are hers because she bought them, not because she was born with them, but they are striking and suit her well. By the way, the arrangement is different and slowed to Angelina’s preferred tempo, and the piano was most likely played by two time Grammy winning producer Rob Christie who is the studio director for Republic Records, and managing Angelina’s development.

I wish I had known you were going to do this, because she sang it first at age 10, and it’s fun to watch her then and later at 16. Maybe you can go back and watch the ten year old later. It’s precious. For this more current one, she said it was dedicated to her Angel fans for Valentine’s Day. She’s just so sweet!

Her family has basically kept her out of the spotlight. She has done NGT and AGT and shows here and there .. where they did not interfere with her home/child/kid life. She signed a contract with Republic Records in 2014 with the understanding of no big promotion until she graduates High School .. which she does this year. Expect to see her promoted a lot more to come.

She graduated the first of this month, that is why stuff is slowly being put out. She starts her World Tour shortly after her 23 September Concert in New Hampshire, where in the Fall her Album of Originals is released. She turns 18, January 10, 2024 and expect an explosion of Promotions, God Bless!

Those blue eyes are contact lenses for fashion. She has worn them only on this recording. I think she has been trying to appeal to a younger crowd with her Tic Toc shorts and changes in clothing, the eyes, etc. The younger crowd seems interested in everything other than the fact that she has the best female voice ever. There is much money and fame in that young group so to be commercially viable, it is necessary to make them "Angels" as well! The more they find out about her, the more they will come along.

Vocally, this is one of the most sultry versions I have ever heard. Add to it her beautifully enticing looks and I wasn't surprised to see it presented with the vocals overdubbed. In this way, there are no mistaken 'sexual' connotations, only a young teenage girl who is daydreaming as she meanders through an antique furnishings store.

I really hope she gets more play outside of youtube soon... I think she will. But I don't think she's going to dance around on stage wit ha bikini on either or sell out and start singing in a Pop style. So I guess it remains to be seen how well she will do playing her game. I'm hopeful though. :)

Another great reaction. I think the reason you react is to discover amazing artists like Angelina that you may not have heard of otherwise. Regarding this song, I think this is one of Angelina’s most beautiful and stunning performances. The history of this video is a little odd. It was posted on Instagram Valentine’s Day 2022. From what I understand it was removed shortly after. This is before I discovered her so I don’t know exactly when it was removed. A fan or many fans captured the video before it was removed so that’s why it’s still out there. It’s no longer on Instagram and was never posted on KZread. A lot of effort was put into the performance and video to not officially release it. Maybe others have more info on this.

Thanks a lot for another great reaction to Angelina. You are right, Angelina dropped this video on Feb 14th last year (Valentine's Day), so she was 16 years old. Her birthday is January 10th. She may very well have been 15 at the time of recording. This performance sits in top 5 for me, I think I have it on 4th. I'll just quickly list the 3 that I can think of right now that come before this, as I'm curious to see what other people think when they see it. My favorite is her cover of Lauren Daigle's You Say. Then I have her studio recording of Adele's Easy On Me, and on third I have her studio recording from when she was 10, recording a demo for "I'm Still Holding Out For You". Now that you have done THIS rendition of the song, I think you'd really appreciate her rendition EXACTLY 6 years earlier, when she had just turned 10. The state of musical taste by the American audience after years of listening to pop princesses and their soulless beat driven nonsense is questionable. Then the rest of the American audience has been numbed by female country artists using the same melody to sing about being mistreated by their badass boyfriend. It's been many many years since an artist of Angelina's caliber has shown up for American audiences, Adele being the last real vocalist who's music was the attraction not the tiny outfits, wild dancers and crazy stage antics to keep the audiences attention. Can a large American audience sit still and be entertained by a musical genius who stands in front of a killer band and sings from her heart with a skill level only God could bless her with? We will see. The rest of the world has already recognized Angelina as a powerhouse talent. Many in the U.S. have been mesmerized by her but as you say, not nearly enough. Angelina is young though and her brilliance can't be denied.

AW is one of many vocal artists who Angelina admires. AJ has covered AW a few times. But, AJ covers many of the vocalists she admires, and she loves vintage music. AJ has said specifically that Billie Holiday was her most significant influence. Angelina’s versatility and vocal ability far exceeds anything I have heard from AW.

I understand very well, all those who loved Amy, myself included, are desperately looking for a singer to replace her and although I am not the one who most resembles Amy, there are voices closest to Angelina on the net but, she is so talented the Jordan that everyone hopes is the ideal replacement, it's not like that, I close my eyes and whatever song Angelina sings I recognize her, I find her very personal and as she grows more and more, the fact that she has covered over 90 years of music at a stellar level leads Angelina to be the most desired in the field of excellent music, good life...
